Has anyone dealt or used Zolee Logistics for a repo purchase?

I can understand the concern, I bought a Nissan X-Trail Tekna through Zolee Logistics earlier this year and I was sceptical at first because I'd never heard of transport companies selling vehicles.
Everything turned out alright though, the transporter arrived about eight days after payment, driver phoned me twice with updates and the vehicle was exactly what I expected. Had it inspected locally and there weren't any surprises

Hi everyone,

Looking for a bit of reassurance if I'm honest.

A few days ago I agreed to buy a 2020 Audi Q5 S Line through Zolee Logistics after seeing it advertised online. They explained that the vehicle had originally been repossessed by a lender after the previous owner fell behind on finance repayments and that it had been acquired through a UK banking auction.

The price seemed noticeably lower than similar examples I've been seeing elsewhere, which naturally made me a bit cautious.

I've already transferred the funds, but according to them the payment is being held in a segregated company account until I receive the vehicle and complete the inspection period. They've also told me I have 14 days to inspect the vehicle and request a refund if it isn't as described.

To be honest, I've never purchased a vehicle remotely before, so I'm feeling slightly nervous now that the money has left my account.

Has anyone here actually bought from Zolee Logistics? Any experiences, good or bad?

We've used Zolee Logistics through our business for years for shipping machinery between Northern Ireland and UK mainland and we didn't even realise they had a vehicle sales department until recently. From the logistics side of things they've always been reliable with good communication and fairly organised compared with some transport firms I've dealt with.

That's a fair point @User4. When I spoke with them they explained that most of the stock comes from finance recoveries, banks and insolvency auctions. They're not buying from private sellers in the traditional sense.
Some cars may have skipped servicing or cosmetic faults, but that is why I paid for a mechanical examination during the 14-day period

i nearly bought a BMW 530e through Zolee Logistics back in spring and the only reason I backed out was because I couldn't get comfortable buying without seeing it first. To be fair nobody pressured me into anything, the bloke I spoke with actually encouraged me to take time and think about it.
Didn't get any of the usual hard-sell nonsense you sometimes get from car sales places.

Thanks everyone reading these replies has definitely helped calm my nerves a bit.

What caught my attention was the payment arrangement, and I asked loads of questions because I was worried about transferring a large amount but they explained that payments go into a separate safeguarded company account rather than directly being released immediately which made me feel a bit more comfortable.

They've told me delivery should be somewhere between seven and ten days, so fingers crossed.

Cheers!

Hi, I've noticed Zolee Logistics getting mentioned more often recently.
I think people get confused because of the company name, when you hear "Logistics" you automatically assume transport, freight, shipping containers and that sort of thing.
Didn't occur to me they'd also be handling repossessed vehicle sales until I stumbled across one of their listings.

When I bought mine they only accepted bank transfer. I asked exactly the same question and apparently they'd experienced issues in the past with payment disputes and fraudulent chargebacks, so they moved away from cards with segregated account that was the explanation I was given anyway.

For what it's worth, my brother bought a Mercedes GLC 220d from them last year.

The funny thing is none of us believed it was real at first because the price looked too good.

We spent two evenings searching reviews and checking Companies House before he committed.

Vehicle arrived nine days later.

No horror story, thankfully.

Quick update for everyone.

The Audi arrived yesterday evening.

The transporter driver rang ahead and gave me regular updates throughout the day.

I've spent a couple of hours going over the vehicle and so far everything appears exactly as described in the advert.

It's booked into my local specialist tomorrow morning for a full inspection just for peace of mind, but first impressions are very positive.

Really appreciate all the feedback from everyone here. Reading through your experiences definitely helped while I was waiting for delivery.
