To verify the functionality of the pump, simply detach the air line from its connection point at the front of the seat. Typically, the pump is the component that malfunctions rather than the motor. Consequently, if the compressor's motor is operational but fails to generate any air pressure, the system will only operate for a little period before ceasing operation. A pronounced and forceful hissing sound emitted by the hose when disconnected and the motor in operation would suggest a well-functioning compressor. The inadequate air supply indicates that it is malfunctioning. The typical reason for their failure is a system leak, which causes increased operation to compensate for pressure loss.

The presence of moisture acting as a lubricant suggests that the noise is caused by a dry bush, bearing surface, or joint. To identify the exact component causing the noise, a process of elimination can be employed by applying a lubricant to different parts one at a time until the noise ceases. Once the problematic part is identified, it should be replaced. If you need any substantial object to add weight to the automobile, I am willing to loan you my credit card bill.

Sanitising interior buttons with delicate surfaces
AMG33D replied to Geek2232's topic in General Discussions
Mercedes buttons on the steering wheel, as well as certain switches and buttons on the dashboard, are sensitive to strong cleaning agents. One consequence of using harsh cleaners is that the buttons become sticky due to the deterioration of the surface layer. To effectively eliminate the stickiness while preserving the button labels, I have discovered that using Goo Gone with cotton buds in small, frequent applications is the most suitable method. -
Precise information, precise information. Indeed, there is an additional £300 included in the purchase to cover the Road Fund Licence (RFL). The price of £10,000 is rather reasonable considering that there are three owners, the car has been updated, and it has only been driven for half the usual km. It is difficult to find any faults with this offer. Engage in a conversation with your independent source, although I would bet that they would argue that the bug-fixed makeover causes less inconvenience compared to the previous model as a whole. By the way, exercise caution about the ride comfort while using large wheels.

I appreciate the colour! I came close to purchasing an SL500 in that same hue. After completing the test drive, the vendor informed me that they had just sold the item to a buddy over the phone. There are several owners of 20-year-old convertibles, but, there are also rare instances of "garage queen" automobiles with little mileage and few previous owners. It is worthwhile to examine the disparities shown during the 2006 Facelift. Although Joe Public may not see the difference, MB has included several enhancements to rectify the problems that had arisen in the previous vehicles. I like the Audi 3.0 quattro, especially its early models. What a magnificent phenomenon. The ideal individual will enthusiastically pursue that opportunity. However, would the cost be a determining factor for you?
-
Agreed. Proceed forward without stopping. There is a significant number of SL350 vehicles available that have been little used and well maintained. Please allocate sufficient time to locate a superior alternative. It is illogical to save a significant amount of money on the initial purchase if you end up spending a similar amount on other expenses like as discs, tyres, service, bodywork, and adjustments.

ML 320 CDI - Engine fails to start despite cranking
AMG33D replied to carBlacken's topic in General Discussions
Indeed, the W163 model was never equipped with a 6-cylinder diesel engine. I apologise for my mistake. Was the gasoline quantity valve replaced with the high-pressure pump? What was the cause of the problems? Which codes, if any, are activated? -
ML 320 CDI - Engine fails to start despite cranking
AMG33D replied to carBlacken's topic in General Discussions
The injectors are experiencing leakage. Is this vehicle model the W163 or W164? Alternative fuel system... What is the current pressure measurement on the crank? -
Although I have not personally used this particular procedure (since I employ an other testing approach), a pressure of 19psi does strike me as quite excessive. Perhaps, you could include a T-piece into the line and release a portion of the pressure? (My testing methodology does not rely on pressure, but it is still capable of detecting leaks. Significant pressure is not necessary in my opinion.

Will the vehicle maintain its position on an incline while in Drive, or will it go backward? -
Device for measuring the concentration of oxygen
AMG33D replied to Paulinelinker's topic in General Discussions
The possibility of the O2 sensor being the cause is really improbable, in my view. If I had to speculate, the potential culprits may be the turbo actuator or the back pressure sensor, among others. Frankly, attempting to guess will result in a significant financial loss. It is essential that you connect the automobile to Star in order to identify any potential trouble codes. Certain malfunctions may not display an error number, nonetheless, it remains the first point of reference. -
Device for measuring the concentration of oxygen
AMG33D replied to Paulinelinker's topic in General Discussions
A few years back, I saw a code for the o2 sensor on a recently obtained om642 211 vehicle, which appeared on the star diagnostic system. Given the vehicle's satisfactory performance, recent successful MOT, and efficient fuel consumption, I made the decision to refrain from making any modifications. Remarkably, after a span of seven years and 90,000 miles, the automobile remained in the same commendable condition. The automobile consistently passed the emissions tests every year, and its fuel economy was precisely in line with the expected standards for an om642 211 engine. -
Update: I am delighted to inform you that I now own two E250 C207 coupes with panoramic roofs, and I have just acquired a 2019 C238 E220d AMG with the latest design of panoramic roof, which I have been enjoying for the last 6 months. Here are some of my reflections for anybody contemplating a similar decision. It is noteworthy that although my first C207 (2010) received a significant amount of positive feedback, my 2015 model did not get any comments. However, my current C238, which has an anthracite grey hue (although it seems more like a golden grey to me), receives a considerable amount of nice comments, surpassing any previous vehicle I have had. The C238 has a little more interior space compared to the C207, particularly in terms of the rear seating area. Initially, I had a negative opinion towards the new panoramic roof design. However, I soon discovered that it was as, if not superior, to the previous form. I long for the presence of a spare wheel, which was absent in the C207 model. I am filled with apprehension at the thought of experiencing a puncture, particularly when I find myself in the more secluded regions that I periodically visit. The front doors of the C238 are excessively heavy, with the handle positioned far forward, so impeding the ease of door operation while departing in confined areas. The addition of a handle positioned towards the rear of the door would be advantageous. The C238 220d has superior fuel efficiency compared to the C207. The C238 has somewhat superior performance at lower speeds, but the C207 E250 (equipped with dual turbo) holds a little edge at higher speeds. Overall, the coupe is quite pleasant and spacious to drive, and I am really satisfied with the transition. The only drawback was that the current alteration incurred a much higher expense compared to earlier instances.

For the last 8 years, I have been the proud owner of two C207 E250 coupes. At first, I had a 2010 E250 C207 model, which I then upgraded to the newer 2015 C207 model. I must express my utmost satisfaction with both. I have found the aforementioned items to be very dependable, comfortable, and adaptable for a coupe, since the rear seats can be folded down to accommodate various items such as golf gear. Furthermore, the performance is commendable and the fuel efficiency is particularly noteworthy, especially during long journeys. I am particularly fond of the panoramic roof and the ability to fold down the windows on pleasant days. Consequently, I am really satisfied with my entire experience. I am now contemplating my further course of action and would really appreciate any input from anyone who have previously had a C207 and then upgraded to the latest model, C238, in terms of how the new model fares in comparison.

The E280 Woodruff key has sustained damage.
AMG33D replied to Matt865's topic in General Discussions
Woodruff keys are often referred to as shear pins. Is it possible to divide the chains in order to simplify the task? -
The E280 Woodruff key has sustained damage.
AMG33D replied to Matt865's topic in General Discussions
Indeed, the shaft is intentionally engineered to undergo shearing in certain circumstances, as an alternative to being splined. -
The E280 Woodruff key has sustained damage.
AMG33D replied to Matt865's topic in General Discussions
The key is engineered to undergo shearing before any catastrophic events occur. It seems that it is almost halfway through this process, therefore I recommend removing it entirely. Additionally, please refrain from forcefully inserting it in the future. -
Wishing you the best of success in your interactions with MB Customer Support. They provided assistance for the third occurrence of NOx failure when the automobile reached the age of 7, so do not lose faith. (My strategy of displaying kindness seemed to be effective.) Nevertheless, the process of obtaining a definitive verdict from them may be time-consuming, as they will be reaching out to the dealership who provided your automobile in order to get their viewpoint. Continuing to drive your automobile in the interim might potentially cause more damage that may be irreversible. It is desirable that you possess access to other means of transportation.
