Procedure for post HV battery replacement?
Howard_silver replied to Howard_silver's topic in General Discussions
Indeed, I will explore local options to identify any electric vehicle specialists capable of updating and reprogramming the ECU. Currently, the ECU appears to recognise the prior 7Kw battery as installed, thereby treating the replacement battery as if it were the defective one. Additionally, it is unclear whether the ECU retains information regarding the fault of the old battery, which could influence its charging and usage protocols. Consequently, updating and recoding the ECU would reset these parameters, ensuring the proper utilisation of the replacement battery. I remain hopeful! -
Procedure for post HV battery replacement?
Howard_silver replied to Howard_silver's topic in General Discussions
Indeed, I suspected that would be the situation; but, I am uncertain how to proceed. Ultimately, the crucial aspect is that the vehicle is operational, powered by electricity, without any warnings or faults; however, it would be preferable to perform the task thoroughly. Thank you. -
Greetings, I need guidance on the necessary steps to take following the installation of a replacement high-voltage battery in my 2016 225xe. The physical procedure seems to have proceeded successfully, as a pre-owned HV battery was acquired and a local EV specialist replaced the defective HV battery with the new one. The vehicle operates effectively, exhibiting no errors (auditory alerts, warnings, or drivetrain error messages). Although the range appears to have improved, the range indicator on the EV battery screen continues to reflect the previous battery range of 10 miles (originally a 7kW battery), despite achieving greater distance with the newly installed 10kW battery. Is a software upgrade or reset necessary to inform the vehicle about the new HV batteries, enabling accurate range display and proper charging? Thank you very much.

Legally, the vendor can have you sign whatever document they want. Having said that, the buyer assumes most of the risk when making a private transaction.

It is highly probable that this is one of those cases where MB part numbers have been revised or replaced.

Potential Injector Problem with the 2014 X3 N47
Howard_silver replied to Howard_silver's topic in General Discussions
The client claims the problem worsened over time; nonetheless, a new problem has emerged: the vehicle suddenly stops cranking. I connected it to a charger after seeing the warning "low battery, please start the car" on the dashboard, but the engine still wouldn't crank. Could it be just a blown fuse, or is there anything more serious going on? By the way, I was wondering if you had any recommendations for a good VCI to utilise with ISTA right now; I'm having trouble measuring injector flow with my current diagnostic tools (XTool D8S and Autocom). -
Greetings, all! In regards to BMWs equipped with the N47 2.0d engine, I would appreciate some guidance. Here are the symptoms: Idle engine runs harsh, causing the entire car to shake. Pushing down on the gas pedal produces very little force. A strong diesel odour becomes noticeable after approximately one minute of operation. The ECU does not record any error codes. Regardless of the temperature, the issue is clearly visible. The engine isn't operating smoothly and feels feeble under acceleration, but the car still starts. Injector overfueling or leakage could be the culprit, according to my investigation; yet, the absence of codes is surprising. What are the questions? Does it sound like a single negligent injector or maybe more than one? Does a mechanical failure of an N47 injector result in the throwing of any codes? Is it better to examine the injector correction values first or to do a leak-off test immediately? Before I remove the injectors from the N47, are there any other typical reasons for this? In ahead, I'm grateful.

Flight safety warning indicator turned on
Howard_silver replied to CyberNinja's topic in General Discussions
Is the alert always on? If the front passenger isn't there, it makes no difference. There are just too many potential problems; fault codes must be read. -
Get yourself into a comfortable driving position by adjusting the seat. Without massive "A" pillars obstructing my perspective, I require unobstructed visibility all the way around. Avoid putting undue strain on your finances by sticking to your budget. It has never been a concern of mine to stay abreast of the Joneses. I had fantasies about owning a Porsche a few years ago—and I could totally afford one—but I quickly realised that the "Running cost" would put it out of my price range.I ended up purchasing a Puma instead :(.

Downloading the maps via Mercedes me does not need purchasing the PIN from MB. Anyone can download it, but it won't accomplish anything if you don't have a PIN number. You may get the genuine MB PIN code from any number of dealers for anything from £99 to £250.
-
No, you may get the map data for free right from Mercedes-Benz with Mercedes me. Just be sure you purchase the PIN code associated with your VIN. Instead of downloading 50 GB on your home Internet, you may utilise the SD card that the vendor is providing. It was my intention to address the worry that the SD card provided by the vendor may be corrupted and cause the installation to fail.
-
So long as you have the seller's PIN number, you may download the maps on a USB drive (~50gb) using your PC. There will be no damage done if you enter the wrong PIN since you will be asked for it before the installation begins. I've tried this several times and each time it worked. If you happen to encounter an erratic "can't read data" notice, just take out and re-insert the USB drive or SD card, and it will resume from the point it was before. Using three SD-Cards or USB drives is the correct method; the capacity is irrelevant; what matters is that the drives "mimick" the original three DVD installation. The process requires keeping the engine running (or having the battery hooked up to a trickle charger) for around 60 to 90 minutes. Even if you can't use the satellite navigation system, you may still drive the vehicle while the update is underway. The update will halt if you turn off the engine, but it will resume once you turn it back on.

All three generations of NTG 4.5 (also known as NTG4.7) have identical maps. Your late-2013 vehicle should have NTG4.7, which means it can connect to the internet via both Android and iPhone. This is in contrast to NTG4.5, which could only connect via Android. In addition, the TomTom Live Data Subscription may be renewed using your car's GSM connection (KOM Module). However, keep in mind that this may not be possible now that Vodafone's 3g network is down. It is possible to go straight from the most antique maps to the most recent ones. Additionally, it is recommended to upgrade the firmware to the most recent version; however, this can only be accomplished using authentic MB STAR.

We already have enough of ways to squander the environment, so please, cut down on emissions.

There is a chain of timing. However, I would see to it that the tensioner belt is replaced when necessary. All service intervals are listed in the handbook, not the service book. Invoices for work done outside of Kia or a service book with stamped services are required. Then, as you lack the necessary documentation, you are unable to make any warranty claims.

CHR Media Centre - fatigued by this
Howard_silver replied to BenTrevor's topic in General Discussions
I cannot recall the precise process I employed, but this was the note I made upon acquiring the vehicle: There are two Toyota applications available on the App Store, and the required one is the black MyToyota app. MyT application - finalise vehicle registration procedure - scan QR code/registration number/VIN to establish account - associate facial recognition/link profile to key - connect multimedia device - refer to Manual pages 50-56 ✅ Multimedia - Registration System ✅ -

I encounter no difficulty after adhering to the basic setup instructions; both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth must be enabled, and my iPhone connects and pairs effortlessly each time. 🤷♂️ -
Oil level for the 2020 C-Class coupe
Howard_silver replied to clk320x4's topic in General Discussions
A low oil level could result in the pick-up tube momentarily ingesting air during high-speed cornering. The G-force displaced the oil to one side of the sump, resulting in oil hunger. The problem was partially resolved with the implementation of oil baffles and the configuration of sumps to mitigate this issue. Ford faced class action lawsuits in the USA due to significant big end bearing failures in their V6 engines, attributed to the massive circular slip lanes leading onto motorways, where vehicles would experience oil starvation caused by g-forces displacing oil away from the pickup tubes. I trust this issue has been resolved; nonetheless, I would not be astonished if it remains unaddressed. -
That concludes the responses thus far; I suspect the new battery may be defective. I charged it overnight, and as soon as I disconnect the charger, the voltage declines significantly. Proceeding with additional investigation.

Thank you. Mine plummeted unexpectedly on the track yesterday.

Thank you for your reply. I ventured out this afternoon, and upon returning after an hour, the device was functioning well, displaying no warnings and a battery reading of 12.4 volts. I hope Kia can resolve the issues related to their 12v systems and possible ICCU failures. I have possessed the car since last April, and it is an exceptional vehicle; nonetheless, I lack confidence in it. It may be prudent to examine alternative options.

Enquire whether anyone has experienced this. This morning, I entered the vehicle, and my BM2 indicated a low state of charge and a battery voltage of 10.5 volts. The battery was just replaced with a Yuasa Silver. The vehicle initiated without issue and indicated charging during my 30-minute journey, with the state of charge increasing. Returned to the vehicle thirty minutes later; it started without issue, but the voltage was again low. Arrived home and turned off the vehicle; the voltage immediately decreased again. I replaced the 12v battery with the old one, which indicated 12.65v, and immediately it began to decline to low 11v readings. The vehicle in utility mode indicates that it is charging properly; nevertheless, there seems to be an anomaly with the battery voltage decreasing despite no active components. I have verified the voltages with a multimeter, and they correspond accurately to the BM2 readings. Are these indications of an impending ICCU failure?

I would choose that Porsche over the Ferrari every day. In my opinion, the Testarossa was not the brand's most aesthetically pleasing vehicle.
