  1. Thank you everyone. I have reset the device, however the problem still persists after a few of days. Parking and then returning to the car within ten to fifteen minutes also resets it. That seems to be my sole option for avoiding garage costs; I will share my findings here for future reference and, perhaps, to assist others; in the meanwhile, I am grateful.
  2. The gearbox gearbox is faulty; the car won't shift into drive or reverse. After turning off the engine for 10 minutes and starting it again, it acts as if it has reset and starts driving. This continues until the next time I stop, at which point it fails again. I repeat the process. Is anyone else experiencing this issue? Do you happen to know the solution? 🙂
  3. Well, I suppose I'll give my neighbourhood repair shop a ride. I had no idea if it would fail the MOT or not. I am grateful.
  4. This 2018 Kia Stonic is mine. 'Check system' was the notification that popped up on my dashboard a few weeks ago. The reverse camera is fully functional. After using the screwdriver approach to verify each sensor, I still received the error message, so I'm not sure it's the sensors. I even bought replacement sensors and attempted using them in lieu of the originals, but they didn't work either. Then what should I verify? I rely more on the camera than the sensors, and I'm old enough to have driven many cars without them, so I don't want to spend a lot of money on this. It appears that many Kia owners are experiencing this problem and have not found a definitive solution. Thank you!
  5. Stockport's SPR or Poynton's Nick Webster
  6. I saw recently that you can eliminate the previous driver using the Connect/Kia app on your phone; it may have been more advantageous to do it in that manner rather than directly on the vehicle.
  7. It seemed like the right moment to create an account after perusing this topic for a while. It seems like a real community here, and there is a wealth of excellent information shared. My interests include driving, understanding how things function, and listening to stories from the actual world. I am excited to get into the discussions and meet new people.
  8. My 2024 C-HR PHEV displays the identical (or comparable) screen upon each startup. I have cancelled it, as I have previously registered the vehicle with the MyToyota App, which provides complete remote capabilities, including trip recording and GPS tracking. After completing the setup process (which required providing approval through the app or the MyToyota website), I am periodically prompted by my vehicle to establish a personalised driving profile. I have not done so at this moment as I am the sole driver. It is a PHEV in Design Trim; therefore, it lacks electric seats with memory settings, which is why I have not pursued it. This may explain why the screen above consistently appears each time I start the vehicle. I must navigate through that screen and an additional warning screen on cautious usage while driving before accessing the functions of the Multimedia Display.
  9. The older models are problematic, and the newer ones will likely experience similar troubles as they age, including oil dilution and timing chain complications. A customer just arrived in his newly acquired Discovery Sport 2.0, unaware of potential issues, as he had not conducted a thorough inspection. This oversight could result in significant costs, as many buyers neglect to verify the condition of such vehicles. Repair costs exceed the vehicle's value. I can only offer counsel; proceed with caution, as you have been forewarned. It is certain to fail someday, as it is a ticking time bomb. I recall that during my ownership of the M4, there was some concern around crank hub failure in these vehicles; yet, such occurrences were infrequent, and the failure rate was notably low, leading many to avoid the issue.
  10. The 2.0-liter diesel engines Inginium engines are the worst available; I would advise against them. You were fortunate if you managed to avoid issues previously. Timing chains can cause a multitude of complications when they fail. It is regarded as the worst engine in history, particularly the 2.0 diesel variants, which exhibit significant issues. The identical engine is utilised in the Evoque, Discovery Sport, and other models.
  11. It is essential to perform this task with the vehicle in park at a minimum. It is advisable to wait until you arrive at a location where you have sufficient time. Cease vehicle operation, restart, and await its reappearance. The greyed-out square on the right can be utilised for rapid scrolling down. Unless you are genuinely uninterested and have several hours available. There are two components.
  12. The sole distinction between MOT tests in Cyprus and the UK is that in Cyprus, the initial test occurs at 4 years, followed by further tests every 2 years. All examinations are comparable to those conducted in the UK. Operating a vehicle without a catalytic converter in Cyprus is equally unlawful as it is in the UK. Furthermore, one of the key principles of this forum is our disapproval of illegal vehicle modifications.…someone may rectify my error if I am incorrect 🤷‍♂️!
  13. Taking into account the mileage and the wholesale/trade-in factors, it appears to be a favourable pricing. A properly driven and maintained BMW can exceed 340,000 km. I would pursue it.
