  1. The EML illuminated last month on our W205 C200 petrol 7G automatic. I possess an iCarsoft reader that indicated a low voltage fault for O2 sensor bank 1, sensor 2. I cleared the issue, but it reappeared after several cold drives. I have substituted the oxygen sensor (Bosch component) and erased the mistake. Upon the service interval, I performed an oil and filter change and changed the spark plugs, as the vehicle has reached 38,000 kilometres and is now 8 years old (2016). I believed this issue had been resolved, but after five drives from a perfectly cold start, it reoccurred today. The MOT is scheduled for next week, and although I believe I may pass by resetting it just prior to the examination, I am want to thoroughly understand the underlying issue. I believe 'Star' readers may provide additional insights, so I may need to consult a local Mercedes specialist, since I prefer not to engage with the major dealer due to a negative experience with them during my tenure with company cars before to retirement. I am willing to conduct any additional physical or visual inspections prior to reaching that level; thus, I am publishing here to solicit comments or insights from others who have encountered this issue.
  2. Unless there are significant tasks such as a gearbox oil change or a 4MATIC system service, I would personally not concern myself. £400 for an oil and filter change, together with a MOT test, seems somewhat exorbitant, to be honest. A multitude of independent providers will append a service and any performed work to the MB electronic service sheets on your behalf. To maintain service records.
  3. Kia has officially apologised for the absence of Wireless CarPlay and has proposed complete reimbursement to all customers who purchased CarPlay dongles. They have acknowledged that the existing infotainment software is subpar and have therefore provided an update to enhance all EVs with Google's superior software, which dynamically monitors the level of charge and notifies users of charger availability. The Managing Director of Kia Europe, IM Jolly, said, "We have recognised that long-suffering Kia owners are observing other brands providing their customers with beneficial features." We really regret that consumers are compelled to see their vehicles become obsolete within a few years; thus, we are altering our company strategy.
  4. Thank you. It seems that Honda is lagging behind other manufacturers in this regard.
  5. I called Honda UK, however they were unhelpful and only advised me to see my dealer.
  6. Hello everyone, I own a ZRV Advance for which I had the dealer add a factory retractable towbar at a cost of £1500. My inquiry for those with a factory-installed towbar is if connecting the electrics immediately disables the rear parking sensors and reverse collision avoidance systems. My vehicle did not function as expected; when attempting to reverse, the sensors activated audibly, and the car abruptly engaged the brakes upon detecting the trailer. Surely, you do not need to deactivate them manually? In all previous vehicles equipped with a factory towbar, the sensors immediately deactivate when connecting the electrical system. I have not seen any dashboard indicators indicating that the caravan lights are functioning. If, as I assume, the dealer has not programmed the vehicle properly, it would be beneficial to ascertain the expected functionality when the towing electrics are attached. Any assistance would be much appreciated. Thank you
  7. 12 months of 7k for me, but I completed it myself. I have worked in the industry my whole life (now retired) and would never use oil for 2 years or 20,000 miles, regardless of contemporary claims about today's oils.
  8. No complete mate I was travelling when the vehicle stalled at a traffic signal and now it just cranks.
  9. It is a 1.6 diesel automatic that has had several issues recently. It has a complete service history, with maintenance performed every six weeks due to thickening oil. A new diesel pump was installed, followed by a sensor replacement in the exhaust. I have owned other 1.7 Optimas without any problems, but this particular vehicle has been a nightmare. Thank you.
  10. My 2019 Optima cranks but fails to start. Any suggestions, since I am uncertain and it is out of warranty? Thank you
  11. I see that my flap shuts more well when I put the cap at 10 to 4. Additional roles may potentially be available.
  12. All contingent upon the design and requisite pricing. The first two will be tailored specifically for your vehicle, while the last option consists of Kia components, but at a little lower cost than purchasing directly from Kia.
  13. Consider any of the below options (in no specific sequence): https://carmats.co.uk/
  14. https://oemnavigations.com/collections/bmw-and-mini-navigation-map-updates
  15. I am uncertain about the iDrive version you own; nonetheless, for satellite navigation updates, please attempt the complimentary downloads available on
  16. I recommend replacing the STARK (Autodoc proprietary brand) components with superior alternatives, namely F.A.G or SKF. In addition to a significant probability of sensor malfunctions, it is probable that the wheel bearing will experience early failure, and the hub may readily deform if a tire shop excessively torques the wheels, due to the use of inferior, low-yield steel, resulting in costly repercussions. This is predicated on the aforementioned occurrence occurring to me on two occasions.
  17. The engine in 2016 is likely a B48. Perform oil changes every 10,000 miles; otherwise, refrain from making modifications.
  18. We own just the 2.0 and 2.5 engines here; therefore, there is a significant disparity between my 3.3L petrol engine and my wife's 2.0. However, it managed overtaking adequately and exhibited a generally smooth performance.
  19. I have just completed a 2400 kilometre round trip in my wife's 2024 CX-5 Black Edition. I must assert that it far surpasses the CX-60; it operates smoothly and navigates highways and imperfections without exhibiting any signs of impending failure. Fuel usage was similar due to my aggressive driving. The comfort level much improved, eliminating the struggle with the steering and the irritating beeps and cautions when overtaking. My wife wants to exchange my CX-60 for her CX-5, but I am concerned it may endanger her, since she will not anticipate the abrupt course adjustments that the CX-60 unpredictably executes.
  20. My GLC has three alternatives; it is not really novel, to be honest. 360 mm, 342 mm, 320 mm
  21. However, both of mine are over two years old.
  22. Given that I have not made any payments, I was quite shocked when both of my devices upgraded themselves a few of weeks ago. I had resolved not to pursue this rather trivial change.
