The wall charger and cord are experiencing excessive heat.
Motoman replied to alpaco45's topic in General Discussions
The installer is the one who should be consulted. Admittedly, dealers often lack knowledge about the automobiles they sell, much alone a cable that is unrelated to their business. -

This is a discussion on the automobile. The battery is equipped with a coolant. During the charging process, if the battery temperature exceeds a certain threshold, the cooling system will activate and the fan will start operating to lower the temperature of the coolant. I am aware that on hot days (20°C), the temperature of the charging wire for my vehicle increases significantly compared to when it is chilly. However, I would argue that this is mostly caused by the high temperature of the tarmac and the surrounding environment, rather than any other factors. Furthermore, my device consistently consumes 7 kilowatts of power. In my opinion, the problem is most likely caused by the ambient temperature. -

Are you referring to the automobile or the structure known as a wall box in this context? -

To be honest. If the temperature is becoming too high, then request the presence of the installer to inspect and assess the situation. -
W212 E250 Sport - Confusion over choice of alloy wheels!
Motoman replied to CyberNinja's topic in General Discussions
I have a set of wheels on my 2011 w212 that are all the same size and not staggered. These wheels are specifically used for winter tires. I believe the size of the tires is 17 inches, but I will confirm this later today. The winter tires, naturally, have a softer composition. However, the difference between summer tires on the same AMG wheels you own and my winter configuration is really minor. In my opinion, it is unlikely that you will find a comfortable ride similar to the 'elegance' specification of the w212 model in most of the contemporary vehicles, regardless of whether they are Mercedes or not, unless you choose for a very luxurious and fully equipped air ride system. -
Insurance coverage for recently licenced young drivers

The price of £1400 for a C1 is rather high and may be considered expensive. I have a lot to anticipate, but as he just had his 15th birthday on Tuesday, I won't concern myself with it at the moment. I considered the price of £140 for my 3.0L Capri when I was 18 to be exorbitant! (However, that occurred in 1985 and I believe it was just TPFT!) -
Thank you for that. Based on my understanding, according to the information I have read, it is expected that ntg4.5 does not need programming. However, there is a possibility that it may still require programming. Indeed, your statement provides a plausible explanation for the rapid disappearance of the picture. I have conducted a thorough examination of the camera when in reverse gear, and it consistently displays a voltage reading of 11.7v when the picture becomes black. Perhaps the voltage is inadequate?
-
Thank you for your response. Indeed, the camera is equipped with a pair of cables. I already conducted a test on the reverse wire and found it to be functioning well. However, I have not yet tested it when the screen becomes dark. I want to do this test today. The display appears on the command screen and exhibits excellent quality for a brief duration before turning off completely. I will attempt the test when the screen becomes dark.

I have just placed a non-original reverse camera in my 2013 c250 cdi Amg sport vehicle. The camera displays a distinct picture for a brief duration, after which the image vanishes and the screen becomes devoid of any visual output. The automobile is equipped with Comand and features the ntg 4.5 system. I am perplexed as to why the picture abruptly vanishes despite the vehicle being in reverse gear. I connected the positive wire to the reverse light wire using a connector, and I connected the earth wire to the same earth as the fuse box. Assistance would be much appreciated. Thank you.

Acquiring the ECU map requires specialised equipment, an area in which I possess little knowledge. If you explicitly want to merely do the recall process, I believe they cannot compel you to complete the upgrade. Were the turbocharger and actuator original equipment manufacturer (OEM) components or aftermarket? Has the automobile ever functioned properly after they performed maintenance on it?

Based on my own observation, chemicals are ineffective in preventing leaks between components that are in motion. These issues are mostly caused by an excessive amount of movement between a shaft and a bearing, or in some instances, a seal that has been hardened or fractured due to excessive movement. If oil is leaking between the gearbox and the engine, it is probable that the rearmost crankshaft bearing in the engine is the cause. Revamping engines is not really difficult, but it does need a well equipped garage.

Who was the provider. Exquisite. Now you have provoked my contemplation. -
This is the consequence of a renowned and long-established automobile manufacturer driving a steel screw into an aluminium hole, fully aware that it would be subjected to various weather conditions. Embrace the power of heat and violence as allies in this battle. In my workshop, I own a tool known as a 'flame' arsenal. This tool utilises MAPP gas to produce a very concentrated and precise flame. As Jobsworth advises, caution must be used about the fuel tank. When I observe individuals on YouTube, they often use a plumber's gas torch to apply heat to objects when working on automobiles. I am usually curious about the specific component that the person is attempting to warm. What is the purpose of the nut and the bolt? or the whole assembly?

The need to switch out proximity keys in subsequent generations is not significant, since their batteries may be replaced and are not recharged while in the slot.

If it is a CLC, it will be classified as a CL203. Observe this https://www.carnoisseur.com/blog/mercedes-model-numbers However, I plan to address my own task in the next month. -

The battery is in good condition. I am uncertain about the connection between the boot struts and the battery, given the former are purely mechanical components. I own a Topdon Artilink 500B device that I want to establish a connection with in order to identify any recorded faults. If any mistakes are found, I will proceed to eliminate them. Subsequently, I will assess the remaining issues. The next two tasks on my agenda are fixing the lights and addressing a little abrasion on the side wall of the front tyre. -

Thank you. Thank you for providing the update on the W number. It is challenging to conduct searches when one lacks knowledge about the specific item they are seeking. After doing thorough research on W numbers and your information on it being a C203, I discovered the following: https://www.carnoisseur.com/blog/mercedes-model-numbers It seems that Mercedes did not adhere to their sequential numbering system for its W models. It might be perplexing when you are attempting to locate compatible components and are unable to choose them based on the registration number. -

1. I conducted more research on this topic. The mechanic has encountered this occurrence once. During its 10-year stay in its former location, the automobile was situated in a remote and rural area. At some time, it had a problem with rodents, resulting in the chewing of certain wires. The car's engine compartment and wiring have been treated with an antivermin spray, thereby preventing further occurrences. Additionally, the damaged wires have been replaced. However, it is quite probable that there is an exposed wire that is making contact with the ground and causing a momentary electrical malfunction. Therefore, I need to open the hood and carefully follow the path of the wires to identify the issue. It is possible that a wire that was partly chewed was overlooked, or that a wire has been damaged by rubbing against something and requires a protective covering. When I spoke to an auto electrical shop, they said that without doing a comprehensive examination, they couldn't provide a definitive answer. However, based on the description of the issue, it seems to be indicative of a short circuit. It has not occurred in the last 6 weeks, which is a positive sign. Perhaps the wire that was causing the problem was inadvertently repositioned during the servicing, resulting in the elimination of the short circuit. Without a comprehensive examination, it is impossible to make a definitive statement, but it is feasible. 2. Regarding the glow plugs. I will defer the task to the mechanic. A collection of electrical plugs is not costly. 3. The struts are in satisfactory condition. 4. Please refer to the picture provided. There are three holes positioned along the bottom border of the boot lid and three holes on the inside edge. When I raise the boot after it has rained, water seems to fall inside the boot. Do these openings serve as drainage holes? Are grommet plugs intended to be included in them? Is it necessary for the boot to have a rubber gasket running down its edge? All the images I come across of a boot lid just depict its outside. The remaining substance is soil, not corrosion. -

The automobile was somewhat covered with soot. Installed several technical upgrades and performed a regeneration on the Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF). It seems much improved at now. He said that the plugs are in satisfactory condition and advised against replacing them until it becomes necessary. He will inspect the upcoming maintenance. I neglected to attend to the boot struts. I applied a thorough cleaning and a coat of lithium spray, which has shown to be beneficial. Presumably, they only need a thorough cleaning. I am uncertain if there are any gaskets or grommets missing along the edge of the boot. The power steering system was inspected at the previous month's service and is in good condition. They are just weighty. My headlights are still inadequate and need replacement.
