Are there valet services available in Surrey?
Motoman replied to bvlenci's topic in General Discussions
Negative; the forum prohibits name and shame, even when the information is entirely truthful and non-aggressive. I am aware, since I shared the findings of bringing my 968 taxi to Drive 'n Shine in Godstone, which were very genuine, and the topic was removed by the moderators in under one hour. I presented my argument to the moderators—what is the rationale for being able to commend the efforts of one organisation but being unable to warn against a negative experience with another organisation? Achieved no progress. Approach the information presented on DW with a measure of scepticism. -

Avoid Drive 'N Shine in Godalming, if it is still operational. His actions about my 968 taxi were definitely unfavourable. -
Concurred, although there must exist a satisfactory compromise... yet, like to a woman, I have been known to alter my perspective...

I am now using Michelin tires; but, if I retain the vehicle for an additional 20,000 miles, I may contemplate switching to an alternative, perhaps Hankook. They are now exorbitant.

F11 2012 2.0 Diesel Msport daytime running light malfunction
Motoman replied to IrvesBMW's topic in General Discussions
If the daytime running lights function correctly but the error notice persists, the daytime running light detecting circuit may be malfunctioning. -
A service history is essential if the vehicle has significant mileage, and intermediate oil changes are recommended.

The kind of lubricant you own is crucial, since WD manufactures a variety of lubricants that are often costly.

The variation depends on the suspension type—Classic, Avantgarde, Sport, AMG, etc. It is essential to match the discs' component number to the vehicle's VIN using EPC. When purchasing authentic discs from a Mercedes Benz dealer, the parts counter will verify this for you.

To enable the Smart Tailgate opening, go to the Vehicle Settings menu and choose Vehicle Settings > Door > Smart Tailgate. -
Have you listed the automobile for sale? A prevalent fraud involves prospective purchasers introducing oil into the expansion tank to undervalue the seller's offer.

Thank you both much; I intend to replace the thermostat and refresh the antifreeze.

Thank you very much; I appreciate your counsel and will contact Euro tommorow

Euro Car Parts, GSF, many more internet platforms, and an additional local enterprise. They possess several alternatives, although lack specifics. I would have preferred to purchase the component and get it before removing the old one, since it is still operational, although with some rattling and some leakage. The transmission is automatic.

I need a replacement water pump for my 2006 320D M47 engine, and there are many models available at various parts retailers. What are the distinctions among them? The descriptions lack specificity, only stating "mechanical," making it difficult to discern any distinctions among them, therefore creating uncertainty over which option to choose.

My last BMW incurred a cost of £80 for 12 months of linked drive, £80 for map updates, and £25 for speed camera alerts; thus, I am willing to pay £80.

Cold idling issues accompanied by P0401 EGR inadequate flow
Motoman replied to bvlenci's topic in General Discussions
I would consider how to ascertain if the erratic performance is associated with the issues you are experiencing. Experiencing two unconnected defects simultaneously would be unfortunate. The absence of EGR will not result in rough operation; but, excessive EGR, particularly in cold conditions, may. Could it be that it perceives inadequate flow since the MAF does not decrease when the EGR opens, despite the EGR really functioning? Disconnect the EGR; you will get another fault, but is it still operating roughly when cold? The live data allows for the examination of rail pressures, as well as the demands of the pressure and quantity control valves. Graphing them facilitates the observation of irregular behaviour. -
Cold idling issues accompanied by P0401 EGR inadequate flow
Motoman replied to bvlenci's topic in General Discussions
No one sensor or actuator directly triggers the inadequate flow problem. The program is, however, more intricate than that. Each emission-critical system or component will undergo a plausibility assessment that utilises alternative inputs for cross-referencing. The EGR flow is not monitored directly. At each operational position, the volumetric efficiency is established, enabling the calculation of the anticipated air flow into the engine. The actual airflow entering the engine as measured by the Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor. EGR displaces fresh air in the engine; thus, if the MAF is less than the estimated flow, the difference is attributed to EGR. It measures the pressure differential between the EGR valve and its location, therefore ascertaining the expected flow via the EGR. If the flow exceeds that established by the MAF, it will indicate inadequate EGR flow. By considering how a defect is identified and its implications, one may ascertain where to direct their emphasis. The fuel injection system is not the appropriate component to investigate for an EGR flow malfunction. -
Although not identical, I have seen on my previous 2011 320D that sometimes the DSC (skiddy car symbol) would intermittently flash and momentarily engage the brakes when driving on the freeway. However, the speed drop was not as severe as you have described, and it is likely that a warning message would appear as well. I believe the issue was related to a malfunctioning wheel speed sensor.

The F31 Glass Hatch is experiencing difficulty in fully shutting.
Motoman replied to Motoman's topic in General Discussions
Thank you for your recommendations. Do you believe the issue might be attributed to the button or is it definitely caused by the latch? The cost of replacing the button is around £80 for the component, while the latch assembly is over £100. -

The button press did not cause it to return; I had to use effort to bring it back. -

Affirmative. By applying pressure with a screwdriver, the locking mechanism may be seen descending into position. Subsequently, I must elevate it upwards. Here are two images showing it in both orientations. -

Thank you. I have unplugged the battery but there has been no alteration or effect. The glass hatch is still failing to secure. There are no evident problems with the latching mechanism, however. Do you have any recommendations for the next course of action?
