I just obtained a 2013 Countryman R60 1.6 Cooper D that was experiencing a lack of power and was in a reduced performance mode, supposedly due to problems with the Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF). The previous owner had the local dealership do an investigation and test several sensors (such as MAP, MAF, DPF pressure, boost pressure, etc.) in an attempt to diagnose the issue with the DPF, which was not indicating any faults. It was discovered that the turbo was damaged because the central shaft had fractured. Subsequently, the turbo has been rebuilt, along with a new oil feed line. Additionally, the EGR valve was removed and thoroughly cleaned, and the DPF was taken out and carefully cleaned. The vehicle has been rebuilt, but it is now displaying many new fault codes that were not there before. Additionally, it is entering limp mode and the warning light indicating decreased engine power is illuminated on the dashboard. The codes mostly pertain to EGR issues, including 4B81, 40E9, 4C9E, 40A4, and 4987. The automobile will operate for about one mile before experiencing a problem, and it may even have faults while idling. Although all the pipes and hoses seem to be in good condition, I am becoming more frustrated with deciding on the most appropriate course of action. Assistance would be much appreciated.

The colour combination is stunning and much more appealing than the dull options of black/silver or black/black. The vehicle has 159,000 miles on it, but it seems to have been well-maintained since it has had almost just one owner since it was new. The W211/219 AMGs seem to reach a rather high price compared to their non-AMG counterparts. This is promising for my 73,000-mile '55' that has rarely been used.

You can find a car battery on eBay for £900 including postage. If you are dealing with a £14,000 bill, it might be worth considering. Your car, when operational, is valued at around £12,000 if sold to the trade. It's an unfortunate situation, and I hope it resolves in your favour. Are they willing to install a new battery under the 6-year warranty?

Mercedes Me - Subscription Renewals

People need a sense of security in the year 2024, the age of the post-millennial generation. -
Have you inquired about the price of a whole new trim item from Mercedes-Benz? It's worth a try, since they may be surprising in both positive and negative ways. Typically, a new component will arrive with the tape pre-attached. They did so when I purchased B pillar coverings from MB. Amazon.co.uk : 3m double sided tape Heating the trim before removal and warming the tape and repair area before reinstalling the trim is the recommended method.

Mercedes CL vs Bentley Continental GT
Howard_silver replied to Howard_silver's topic in General Discussions
Thank you for your insightful contribution. How did the Bentley and the CL compare in terms of ride quality and refinement? Similarly, how much of an enhancement does the S class provide compared to the CL and overall? -
Greetings, everybody. I would want to compare the Mercedes CL C216 facelift (2010-2014) with the Bentley Continental GT Second generation (2011-2018). Particularly concerning ride quality, general refinement, and construction quality? Thank you in advance.

To ensure that the pistons are evenly positioned in the bores, I insert two identical brass rods into the plug holes of cylinders one and two. I use a 1/4 drive 10mm socket attached to a 20mm long extension, which is connected to a small ratchet. For non-turbo cars, I access the inlet manifold bottom bolt from underneath the car's middle section, while for turbo cars, I reach it through the wheel arch. -
Seldom have I encountered the need to substitute the cups and o rings. Seals gradually become rigid over time. They are priced at around $3 in this location. The component with the identification number 1160700077

My vehicle was equipped with Pirelli Contact 6 tyres, but when they are due for replacement, I want to install PS4S tyres instead. Out of the 6 tyres I have tried, they have performed rather well despite the unfavourable weather conditions. However, based on my past experience with an AMG and my study, I am aware that Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tyres were the top choice and are also recommended for my current vehicle.

I purchased my item from FCP Euro and performed the installation myself, which was not difficult. I do not remember the exact cost, but the product seemed to be of satisfactory quality.

Is it possible to deactivate Adaptive Cruise Control?

I am uncertain whether this feature is exclusive to 2016 and newer models with updated aesthetics, however the brake guard on my 2016 S7 may be disabled via the MMI system. -
Is it normal for the 2007 E500 to move slowly?
Howard_silver replied to alpaco45's topic in General Discussions
When I encounter lengthy traffic lights or similar situations, I choose to either engage the park or neutral gear to prevent my brake lights from excessively bothering the person in the vehicle behind me. The majority of automobiles will go slowly over level terrain. -

There is no need to modify the sensor. The suggested time for changing brake fluid is typically 2 years, as advised by the majority of manufacturers. Typically, automobiles that are more than 5 years old have their fluid replaced seldom, usually only when additional brake maintenance is being performed. If the last modification date is unknown, do a test to assess its current state, or alternatively, proceed with the change anyway. There is no need to incur additional expenses for dot 5; dot 4 is the recommended specification for your vehicle. If the fluid level is low, a red indicator light will illuminate on the dashboard. However, the automobile does not actively monitor the water content.

Thermostats for these automobiles are inexpensive. Simply purchase the thermostat alone, there is no need to acquire a new housing. It will enhance fuel efficiency and optimise engine performance.

In what manner is it characterised by a high level of noise? It is quite probable that the motor itself is deteriorating. However, it is also possible that you have inadvertently ingested some debris.

I appreciate your response. Reviewing documentation provided by the primary distributor. The "Pack Premium Plus" has a feature called "Speed limit assistant by reading signs using a camera". I understand the concern over the outdated nature of sat nav cartography. However, it should be noted that in some cases, the indicated speed restriction of 80kph would never have been applicable, since we are referring to urban streets inside a sizable town. I will collect further info and address this matter with my nearby dealer.

I purchased a 2021 GLA 200D AMG Line six weeks ago, which had a low mileage and a satisfactory specification. Residing in France, I own a left-hand drive (LHD) automobile. Initially, I found it quite daunting to adapt to driving while seated on the left side. I often had difficulty in accurately parking, often ending up two feet to the right of my intended spot. I am currently satisfied with the automobile, save for the fact that the traffic sign recognition system is really poor. The displayed speed on MBUX sometimes inaccurately indicates a higher value than the actual speed limit, such as showing 70km/h instead of the correct 50km/h restriction in a town. It has an accuracy rate of around 50%. The GLA was substituted by a Ford SMax Vignale, which has speed sign recognition. The GLA produced more faults than the other automobile, which was manufactured in 2017. I had higher expectations for Mercedes in 2021. I have deactivated the option. Is anybody else experiencing the same issues?

Is e5 fuel available in mainland Europe?
Howard_silver replied to drummer's topic in General Discussions
As previously mentioned by various sources, it is noteworthy that 98 octane E5 fuel is widely accessible within the nations encompassing your itinerary. The fuel known as 95 octane E5 is often found in the market, and it is advisable to verify the marking on the fuel pumps to ensure its availability. Among the several nations being visited, it is noteworthy that Germany now exhibits the highest cost for petroleum. A price of €2.19 per litre was paid for Aral 102 at that location a few weeks before. If your itinerary includes passing through Luxembourg, it is advisable to ensure that your vehicle's fuel tank is empty upon arrival. They continue to maintain the lowest prices among Western European countries. -
Therefore... Upon investigation, I discovered that the malfunctioning of the Passive Go 7.5 was caused by a blown fuse. After replacing the fuse, it promptly blew again. Initially, I attributed this occurrence to a random incident, and proceeded to repair the fuse once again. However, upon inspection, it became evident that the replacement fuse also had an instantaneous failure. What methods may be used to identify the problem?
