The air conditioning unit emits a foul odour.
Paulinelinker replied to CheresX's topic in General Discussions
It is quite probable that replacing the evaporator coil will provide a temporary solution to mitigate the odour. However, it is important to note that the recurrence of the smell is contingent upon the manner in which the evaporator coil is used. The extent of this restoration is excessive, unless the implication is that it has sustained harm. In the event of damage, opting for a replacement would be the preferred course of action. I would recommend attempting to replace the cabin air filters as a first course of action. The task at hand may be completed within a time frame of 20 to 30 minutes, or alternatively, one may choose to engage the services of the dealership for its execution. An individual reported being billed a sum of $500 for a service that is beyond the scope of warranty coverage. -

It is strongly advised to use the 'search' tool prior to initiating new discussions containing inquiries that are likely to have been addressed before. In response to your inquiry, I would refrain from engaging in the suggested action. What is the rationale behind this request? The occurrence is likely to repeat in the future. It may be advisable to consider the purchase of a CTEK Battery Conditioner, namely either the MX5 or MX7 models. Undoubtedly, using the CTEK charger on your vehicle proves to be a more cost-effective alternative compared to purchasing a new battery. Additionally, the use of the CTEK charger contributes to an extended lifespan of the battery. A significant number of individuals on this forum use the utilization of CTEK.

After a four-week duration, I have received the V5C document from the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) confirming the registration of the vehicle in my name. Consequently, I have successfully transferred the short dateless number plates onto the aforementioned vehicle. The appearance is really satisfactory, and I am experiencing a great deal of contentment.

I concur with the notion of doing a repair. One possible course of action would be having the vehicle resprayed or seeking professional assistance by taking it to a paint shop for evaluation and potential remediation. -
Repair for the 2010-2011 E350 W212 OM642!

The occurrence of black smoke during vigorous acceleration in a pre-DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter) diesel engine is considered to be a typical phenomenon. The intensity of black smoke emissions tends to increase in direct proportion to the extent of the vehicle's operation in urban areas at low engine speeds, gradually dissipating over time. It is plausible that the diesel particulate filter (DPF) has been removed. From my perspective, I would refrain from allocating resources, both in terms of time and money, towards the investigation of a potential issue that is likely non-existent. Performing an oil and filter change is generally considered beneficial; nevertheless, it is unlikely to have any impact on the issue of black smoke emission. It is advisable to refrain from making any adjustments or interventions until there is noticeable rattling in the timing chain. A well maintained OM642 engine, which includes regular oil and filter changes using the appropriate oil, has the potential to exceed a mileage of 200,000 miles without requiring a replacement of the original chain. It is advisable to allocate a somewhat more budget in order to get the vehicle serviced at a reputable independent Mercedes-Benz service provider. Alternatively, one may get their tools and proceed to do maintenance on the goods, since they are not difficult to operate on. -
It is quite unlikely that the glass will be scratched. In previous instances, I have acquired automobiles that underwent bodywork repairs, resulting in the inadvertent presence of residual spray paint on the glass windows, presumably left by the automotive repair facility. The only effective method of removal included the use of fine wire wool.Occasionally, I myself undertake the task of cleaning the windows of my own Mercedes-Benz vehicle using the aforementioned product. Upon first use, I found it to be quite impressive.

The most effective method I have discovered for eliminating undesirable particles from the outside surface of automotive glass involves the use of an exceedingly fine wire wool. Prior to proceeding, it is recommended to apply a layer of washing up liquid over the glass surface.Subsequently, proceed to apply the substance onto the glass surface. It is advised to refrain from using the matrix coating present on the inside.

Have you checked out the Land Rover website? There has been no talk of a revamp or any significant adjustments for 2019.

Upon the completion of the restoration process of the damaged wires The situation has been devoid of any issues. Nevertheless My neighbor is experiencing a same problem with his 2018 w205 vehicle, in which he has also installed an MMI box. The fuse was removed from the fuse box located in the passenger footwell for a duration of several hours. Subsequently, the fuse was reinserted, resulting in the restoration of functionality. The user observed that when CarPlay is engaged and the power is then off via the power button, it becomes very difficult to reactivate the system. I propose that the issue is mostly with the MMI box rather than the headhunt.

Following a two-hour journey earlier today, I proceeded to park the vehicle for a duration of 30 minutes. Subsequently, I have observed a lack of functionality in the touch pad and associated buttons, including the scroll wheels, as they are now devoid of power. Regrettably, I inadvertently turned off the head unit before to exiting the vehicle, as I was engrossed in a video on my mobile device. Consequently, I am now unable to use the reverse camera feature. The Carplay MMI (aftermarket) was uninstalled without any impact. The wiring harness connecting the controller and the plug was examined from the bottom and found to be in satisfactory condition. What are your opinions on the matter?

Indeed, this is rather remarkable. As a recent participant in this forum, I have taken notice of this particular issue while perusing the many discussions. The cracks on my Evoque are identical. Upon careful consideration of the discourse presented in this thread, my initial conviction of an unidentified impact to my frontal region, unbeknownst to me, has undergone a transformation. I was able to resolve the issue alone. I purchased a plastic-specific adhesive and personally used it to connect the materials together. The color of my vehicle is a shade of deep blue. The resolution is imperceptible. The cost savings of repairing the item myself exceeded the expenses associated with bringing it to a professional repair service.
