  1. What is the current level of battery charge? In the event that one were to remain seated inside the vehicle while the ignition was engaged, the battery would have experienced depletion, regardless of the deactivation of the COMAND system.
  2. Is the infotainment system display functioning as expected? Are the touch pad and scroll button the only components that are not functioning properly? Has the battery reached its maximum charge capacity?
  3. I am experiencing a similar problem. Will repairs be conducted only within the terms of the warranty? The warranty on my 2015 Dynamic has expired.
  4. I have come upon a Volkswagen Golf Mark 7, which has resemblance to the subject of interest. Specifically, I have seen a workshop manual for the VW Golf Mk 7, including various guides and instructions. This resource is available via the VW R Owners Club, an organization catering to owners of VW R vehicles.
  5. Have you successfully resolved this problem? I have been seeing these fault codes persistently for a duration exceeding one year, although I have been unable to identify the underlying issue.
  6. Spending a substantial amount of time, namely three hours, in a productive manner is very valuable.
  7. If you could find a similar bonnet from a junkyard, you might save a lot of money.
  8. There are probably a LOT of E types like the one you describe in circulation, what with the vehicles owned by forum regulars and the dealers that buy and sell them. One of the few local shops that specialized in old foreign cars (he's got a huge shop, former downtown Chevy dealer with a by design or whatever section where a lot of fascinating old vehicles are housed) had four or five very much driver quality, unrestored, E-types, and I was fairly surprised. Also, I'm highly involved in the area's British automotive subculture, and I sometimes see vehicles out and about on bright days for which I have no clue who the owner is or where they came from.
  9. Either a new rocker cover or a pcv diaphragm/spring will need to be installed before you can assess the situation. In my opinion, it is the true origin of the problem.
  10. To what did the breather pipe's other end connect? Oil, rather than gasoline, will be in the turbo, likely as a result of a faulty pcv valve.
  11. You also use the expression "smoke under the bonnet;" where did it come from? Since the problem occurs intermittently, the PCV in the rocker cover is more likely the cause than the valve seals. Look for oil in the turbo's intake pipe.
  12. I drive a previous-generation Octavia VRS hatchback (59 plate, gasoline, manual transmission). In the three years I've owned it, I've never had a single issue with this automobile. You have experience with a vehicle like this. No, I wasn't. My priorities were speed, drivability (I like manual transmissions), fuel economy, affordability, and cargo space. Fun to drive is relative, particularly when compared to my MX5 mk2, it lacks any distinguishing features. In every other respect, it succeeds without flaw. My VPower model gets approximately 34 mpg combined, and that's with quite little use. The cost of repairs for Skodas is fair. I was able to get a service plan that covered me for two years, and it was fantastic. I purchased mine from an established brand. The spoiler makes it impossible to install a bike rack on the trunk without also installing a towbar, which is the only real drawback. Initially, the idea of a spoiler on my automobile was repulsive to me, but now I can't help but like it. Unfortunately, manual gasoline estates in this model are as rare as hen's teeth, and I really wanted a blue one. The comparable hatchback is widely available. Perhaps most surprisingly for a vehicle of its class, it only has four airbags. The newest one must have greater features. Although I can't speak to the latest model, I can say that my previous experience with these automobiles was positive. Jon T is the only person I know who has ever had a problem with one, and I have no doubt he will be here shortly.
  13. Is it a fresh new car? It can be seen that the coating is peeling off in the picture. The coatings seem to have been sprayed on, since the RHS bolt is an exact match.
  14. Since the insurance policy wasn't in your name to begin with, all you need to do is convince the company to say that you stole it.
  15. Units without the changer were available. Most have premium setups. Before buying the aux adapter, check the unit's plug leads. I'm at work and don't have my bin'd unit, but it should be a Pioneer radio with a number.
  16. Radio Shack has LEDs that you can solder on. I don't know the size or grade, and the stock radio has been replaced with one that has Bluetooth for a long time now. Though I liked the weather band.
  17. Bring your automobile to a regular garage and have them inspect it and repair the tie rods. £9000 is half a year's gross income for half of these twats that repeat these ridiculous figures. BMW dealers should form their own political party since they already speak as much nonsense as them.
  18. What a bunch of jerks. There are two possibilities here. 1) The BMW salesman is a jerk (standard form). 2) You had been driving well over 15-20 when you struck it. If the impact against the wheel was significant enough to merit a steering rack replacement, it would have been enough to knock the damage or move the subframe (although they haven't classified a new frame as one of the items that has to be replaced). Bring it down to the ordinary Joe's garage, tell them it's not driving properly, and have them look at it on the ramp. You've made the one mistake you shouldn't make with a BMW dealer: you've been honest and could have seen you coming a mile away. At that speed, I'm going to guess you've slightly (and I mean slightly) bent the drivers side track rod. Less is more.
