What is the diameter? For my clarification

I performed an oil and filter change yesterday, and today the iDrive indicated that the oil level was too high; however, the dipstick shows no oil level. The dipstick indicates no oil, although the gauge displays an excessively high reading. Everything was OK after the oil change yesterday. No oil is seeping anywhere. Even if there is a defective sensor, my dipstick should still indicate the presence of oil. I will examine the filter later today and inspect the dipstick. Does anybody have any recommendations?
