Purchasing a high-mileage E400d. Unwise decision?
Blu_Ray_UK2007 replied to Screwdriver_1's topic in General Discussions
85k miles is not considered excessive mileage. These vehicles are often in better condition when regularly used and maintained compared to low-mileage vehicles that may have mechanical issues from lack of usage. 300k miles is considered heavy mileage. -

Either reputation or cost. £90 much more than £20. You are making an inappropriate comparison. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/266658096349?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=L17ZJ2mVRd-&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=xvl3svqktkw&var -
I have never contemplated much on the impact of humidity and temperature on my well-being. Indeed, I ought to consider doing so. I have a strong interest in light and have extensively researched it. The influence on behaviour and mood is extensively recorded. Although it may seem peculiar, I have a strong preference for certain light levels, measured in foot candles, light colour, measured in Kelvin, and even CRI, which indicates how well the light replicates sunshine for colour perception. I am very astounded by the extent to which I can manipulate my emotions via the use of various lighting techniques. I use high Colour Rendering Index (CRI) lights with an intensity of around 40 foot candles for office work. These lights have a colour temperature of 5000K. As the work day progresses, I gradually reduce the colour temperature to 4000K and the intensity to 20 foot candles. During the final two hours of my work day, I switch to non-LED lights with a colour temperature of 3000K and an intensity of around 10 foot candles. I own a large quantity of candles that I often neglect to ignite due to my laziness. Additionally, I have candles affixed to my walls, which contribute to a very relaxed pre-sleeping ritual. All of my ceiling can lights are linked to the Phillios Hue system, allowing me to manage them using Alexa and create routines. Furthermore, I have successfully integrated the shades into the system, allowing them to gradually ascend with the onset of sunlight. If I attain enough wealth, I will include real bagpipes, similar to those used by the Queen of England, or maybe a whole orchestra, as shown in the film Coming To America (and naturally, the bath attendants as well). Currently, just the lights, blinds, and coffee maker are programmed to operate automatically. I strongly endorse it.

This raises another inquiry. Will activating the AC and setting the heat to the highest degree reduce the overall heat level? I must admit that I did not excel in formulating that inquiry. Is it possible to activate the AC and set the heat to the highest level in order to get maximum heat in the car? Do individuals consistently use the air conditioning button when using the heating function?
-
What is the reason for the activation of the AC light when pressing the front defrost button? I am likewise perplexed by this.
-
However, does the correct one activate both the tiny flat window above the shelf and the large glass that covers the engine bay?
-
I am perplexed by the functionality of my defrost buttons. What is their occupation? Which window is this for?

You own two distinct categories of services. One option is interim, while the other is a comprehensive solution that is more costly.

I suspect that it is also connected to the seatbelt alerts. However, I lack tangible proof to support that claim.

After about 5 to 10 seconds. I anticipate that it is used as a simulated loading screen for the infotainment system.

While I generally agree with the most of your statement, it is important to note that the CLA is a comparatively contemporary vehicle and may still possess a considerable value of a few thousand pounds, despite its mileage. The most affordable options I have seen on AT are priced at £6,000 to £7,000, but they have accumulated 120,000 to 150,000 kilometres or have been declared as HPI write-offs. It is likely to have a value of about £4,000 to £5,000, depending on its condition. If the other parts of the vehicle are in excellent condition, it may be worthwhile to consider fixing it. However, I would be inclined to sell it in its current state, with the misfire issue stated, since there may be individuals possessing the necessary skills, tools, and knowledge to potentially repair it well. Compensating for another individual's time may be costly, and regardless of the approach you choose, the repair process will require a significant amount of manual work. Incorporate the repair expenses into the current market value, estimated as about £2,000 to £3,000. Opting for a vehicle with lesser mileage might be advantageous, particularly if you anticipate driving a significant number of miles in the future. -

The car was not purchased from an authorised Kia dealership. Uncertain whether this is anything that would be covered by the Kia warranty. -

After attempting to access the link, I discovered that it is no longer functional. Consequently, I have sent an email to Spieshecker Germany. I will provide an update if and when I get a response. Upon realisation, I have discovered that I had the document in question on my computer's storage device. However, the forum does not permit the uploading of a 2611Kb .pdf file. Therefore, if someone wants to get the file, kindly send me a private message with your email address.

I created a discussion post on the lacquer peel issue that I now have on my Carneol Red s204. Within the thread, I included a link to an exceptional document provided by a reputable German paint manufacturer and supplier. This document comprehensively illustrates various paint defect issues that one may meet, along with their underlying causes and effective remedies. I will attempt to locate it.

I am certain that the Fuchs ATF will prove to be satisfactory. The firm in question is well recognised for its credibility and integrity. Nevertheless, it is worth noting that Fuchs, a renowned manufacturer of engine oil, does not provide Mercedes-Benz (MB) with its engine oil. Instead, MB procures their engine oil from Petronas, a Malaysian company. This suggests that physical distance may not be a significant determinant in the decision-making process for worldwide commercial transactions of this kind.

If the original poster (OP) had knowledge of the G3 compound, it is likely that they will find the 3M Fast Cut Plus to be suitable.

A minimal quantity would enough for a single vehicle, nevertheless, this package is highly recommended. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/3x-1L-3M-Perfect-it-III-Fast-Cut-Plus-Extra-fine-Ultra-fine-50417-80349-50383-/222894928914?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l6249&mkrid=710-127635-2958-0&mkevt=1&mkcid=1&mkrid=711-53200-19255-0&campid=5338181125&toolid=10001&customid=2518X1570512X0ffc55ca07ff03bc0caf0a66f56e5ded I like the user-friendly nature of the 3M system, which employs a straightforward approach via the use of color-coded pads and polishes. While there are undoubtedly other alternative choices to consider, it is worth noting that the products offered by 3M exhibit commendable quality.
-
It would be advantageous to consider implementing a 2 or 3 stage polishing process. The thumb is a digit located on the hand, specifically on the inner side of the hand The use of abrasive compounds such as G3, or other comparable cutting agents, may result in the formation of a subtle haze or holographic effect. In order to enhance the overall appearance and get a satisfactory outcome, it is necessary to use a gentle pad and a high-quality polish subsequent to the application of a potent substance for the purpose of augmenting shine.

In the past, perhaps 10-20 years ago, I had a strong belief in the effectiveness of Farecla products, namely G3 and G10, for my intended purposes. However, there are other superior goods available on the market at now. This particular device is much outdated in terms of performance, user-friendliness, and simplicity of cleaning when compared to its competitors. I recommend experimenting with the 3M Perfect-It line of products. Fast Cut Plus has similarities to G3, yet with notable advantages in terms of use and performance. Which hue are you attempting to polish?

When considering the choice between Surfex HD from Bilt Hamber and G101 from Autosmart, it is important to evaluate the merits of each product in an academic manner. Both very effective apc's are recommended due to their favourable cost versus dilution ratio, making them the optimal choice. -
I have personally driven my vehicle from a mileage of 4,000 miles to 75,000 miles, which has resulted in a certain level of emotional attachment. Consequently, until I am financially capable of acquiring an 812, I am inclined to maintain my current vehicle, so acknowledging a potential bias in my perspective. However, it is important to acknowledge that if the available budget only permits the purchase of a high mileage high performance vehicle, it may not be the most optimal choice unless one has the ability to conduct their own mechanical repairs. In this assertion, it may be argued that the high-priced components that produce a loud sound will exhibit similarities in both a 650i and an M6. In terms of performance, efficiency, and aftermarket support, it may be argued that a 640i with a tune offers advantages over a 650i. The former variant is likely to exhibit superior acceleration, reduced weight, and improved fuel economy. Additionally, the 640i benefits from a more extensive network of aftermarket resources, which further enhances its appeal as a viable alternative to the 650i.
-
In my perspective, the 650i may be characterised as a leisurely grand touring vehicle or a coupe designed for personal luxury. However, it fails to exhibit a heightened level of responsiveness or enable the driver to fully engage with the vehicle's capabilities, as it tends to operate within a limited performance range of around 70% of its potential. I have operated many vehicles and in my observation, they effectively conceal their power output of 300kw or 330kw in a quite impressive manner. In my own evaluation, I have a general aversion towards Audis. However, I find that the C7 S6, which has comparable power and somewhat reduced torque, exhibits a superior powertrain in my perspective, mostly attributable to the use of a dual-clutch gearbox (DCT). Naturally, the inside of the Audi is subpar and its handling capabilities are severely lacking, resulting in a suboptimal ride quality. However, it should be noted that my personal preference leans away from Audis. Although the M6 is not often seen as a lightweight track vehicle, the many suspension modifications and incorporation of the Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT) contribute to its potential for exhilarating performance and enjoyment during spirited driving. Furthermore, it is worth noting that the M6 retains hydraulic steering, a feature that I feel significantly impacts its performance. Based on the literature I have seen, the Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT) is often regarded as a very dependable system, with the exception of potential clutch wear that may occur in cases where the DCT has been modified. However, it is worth noting that replacing the clutch pack is a relatively straightforward procedure and is likely to be more cost-effective compared to a complete replacement of the ZF8 transmission. The M6's exhaust manifold configuration prevents it from producing the typical V8 sound. However, as FinalRenegade has said, the vehicle nonetheless emits a sufficiently loud noise. Moreover, the distinctive arrangement of the exhaust system imbues the car with a sense of uniqueness, since its sound distinguishes it from other vehicles in the market.
