My argument is that the same cooling system operates with a much hotter engine, resulting in the fans, water pump, and other components being active for an extended period after shutdown, which leads to battery drainage problems.
-
While intriguing, it remains distinct from the S63; the S68 has a straight-six configuration, thereby avoiding hot-vee complications. Subsequent research conducted last night suggests that the battery drain problem has been rectified in subsequent models, with the primary concern now being adequate maintenance, since inadequate oil changes result in turbo failure. I am now rather confident with this engine.

The M5 does not possess a lithium battery, to my knowledge. The cooling fan of most contemporary vehicles typically operates for five to ten minutes; however, the M5 can sustain cooling for a much extended duration owing to its hot-vee configuration.
-
I am now seeking to acquire a 2022/23 F90 M5. I have conducted some research on the S63 engine, and it seems that the predominant troubles are related to its hot-vee configuration, which causes the cooling system to remain operational for an extended period after shutdown, resulting in battery complications. What further prevalent issues should I be vigilant about? I will get a RAC examination before making any purchase for reassurance.

I'm pleased you resolved the issue. I no longer engage in such activities (due to age and disability), but I have prior experience in that regard.

Is the Sportage susceptible to theft due to vulnerabilities?
Matt865 replied to alpaco45's topic in General Discussions
Numerous discussions on the Sportage vulnerabilities indicate that many individuals prefer using a mechanical steering wheel lock, which also serves as a visible deterrent. instead of an auxiliary alarm system. -
Is petroleum-resistant RTV available in the UK?
Matt865 replied to Chrishazle's topic in General Discussions
To contribute to this subject, GM Engine Sealant is a black RTV used on the camshaft covers of the GM/Opel/Vauxhall V6 Engine, and it is evidently resistant to high-temperature engine oil. Ultimately, all is well that concludes well. -

The issue may lie with the exhaust back pressure sensor, as I identified in my vehicle when it exhibited unpredictable behaviour, failing to shift gears appropriately and not revving correctly, resulting in restricted power. I had several problems, however the pressure sensor displayed a consistent value regardless of whether the engine was running or not. After installing a new sensor, the issue was resolved.

Assistance required regarding tyre compatibility.
Matt865 replied to Matt865's topic in General Discussions
Thank you for your response, friend. I primarily desire safety; I am not really concerned with optimal performance or brand compatibility. All of mine correspond with my vehicle, however. -
Greetings, everyone. My wife's automobile failed its MOT due to the installation of a mismatched tyre on one of the rear wheels that I had replaced. She returned to have it replaced, however I have just verified that the new one is now a ZR19 instead of an R19. Additionally, I observed that the two rear tires that were changed are W, while the two front tires are Y. Presented herein are the precise dimensions and evaluations. Posterior tires 245/40R19 94W 245/40ZR19 98W Anterior tires 245/40R19 98Y 245/40R19 98Y My enquiries are: (a) Will they pass the MOT since they are all of uniform size? (b) Should I replace the rear tyre, currently ZR19, with R19, and must both rear tyres match the front two in specification, requiring both to be 98Y instead of one being 98W and the other 94W? I would much appreciate any suggestions. The vehicle is an F11. Salutations.

W211 OM642 new glow plugs malfunctioning.
Matt865 replied to DSM10000's topic in General Discussions
The glowplug circuit is protected by a 225 Amp fuse; therefore, if the relay were to malfunction and all six plugs remained continuously on, I anticipate there would be additional complications. An open circuit may indicate a connector or wiring issue that is temporarily resolved by replacing the plug. Have you evaluated the plugs you have extracted? -

Crankshaft bearings of the 535d (2012) are defective.
Matt865 replied to Matt865's topic in General Discussions
I’ve been quoted a min £4k to have engine fixed. The cost of a new engine is from $4,000 to $5,000, while the car's estimated value is approximately $6,000 to $7,000. I am located in Northumberland. -
Merely a little note... The love of my life has departed from me. 💔 The crankshaft bearings of my F10 535d have failed, resulting in significant engine damage at 109,000 miles. It has been annually serviced, meticulously maintained, and is in generally satisfactory condition for its age. Up until this climactic conclusion, it operated seamlessly. Has anyone else encountered or heard of this? What do you estimate its value to be for sale as spare parts or for repair purposes?
-
I recall that it was extracted with a firm tug, taken from in front of the seat and removed. less complicated than removing a fuse.

Hello everyone, I seek guidance concerning the service plan for my recently acquired 2019 E400d convertible, which has 29,000 miles. As a newcomer to Mercedes, I have encountered numerous discussions regarding service plans and am contemplating their value. Previously, I owned a BMW and consistently utilised independent garages due to exorbitant dealership prices. My vehicle has undergone three services by Mercedes, with the most recent occurring a year ago, and I have only driven 1,000 miles since. Any insights would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

They omitted one. Kia has referred to LDA - Lane Driving Assist in their official films, which encompasses both LKA and LFA.

You're giving me the incorrect idea with those prices. I'd want to see high-mileage vehicles that have sold for £24k in the last year, but I haven't seen any. I've looked on AutoTrader, and some are selling for less than that, while others are selling for £17k. The pricing of these cars may vary greatly based on factors like condition, mileage, and accessories. My vehicle, which had 21,00 miles when I bought it two years ago, cost £25,500.So, that's a 2019 plate for our purposes here. It's a stolen and recovered cat n mite. When I was in the market for a vehicle, I saw similar ones for between £30,000 and £31,000, with similar specs.Vehicle had just one owner and was not a cat, too.My car is currently worth around £20,000 in its stock condition. However, I did spend around $2,000 on an engine 4 pin crank hub upgrade, which is likely the only modification that will return your investment. I believe you could get a better price if you sold all of the parts it has. Just so you know, even though you claim it's a M Performance Bonnet, it's not a BMW M Performance Bonnet because they didn't equip it with carbon fibre and other premium materials.

Hello I am not aware of any, and I too find this bothersome. I observe my Apple CarPlay, since it serves as my default display and indicates the time. I find it peculiar, to be honest, that there are several superfluous choices and no option for a clock.

MOT failure due to a damaged coil spring on the Mercedes W211.
Matt865 replied to DreamWeaver's topic in General Discussions
Visit the Sachs website; they will likely direct you to the appropriate springs. Given the quantity, eBay vendors can likely deliver them to you within a few days. What are the seals to which you refer?
