  1. To all of you: This information comes from the V5 document for my 2010 W212 e350. Based primarily on the v.4, which, from what I understand, has to be 0.08 in order to be considered euro 6, my best estimate is that it is not euro 6. And v.3 Do you agree or disagree with me? If this is the case, is a refit possible that would bring it into compliance and allow it to be registered with the DVLA as such? Merci à tous
  2. I'm always surprised by how many cars people leave around. As Daz said, what a find!
  3. I cannot recall which of these resolved the issue with my X key, but as previously stated, the key charges the ignition when driving. BMW X5 - Programming Key Remote Three strategies to try: Method 1: Working from inside the vehicle with the hatches closed Within 5 seconds, turn the ignition to position 1 and then off again. Remove the key from the ignition and press and hold the unlock button for 15 seconds; then, within 5 seconds, press the key lock button three times. 4. Let go of both keys. Doors will close and release to demonstrate precise programming. Method 2: For this procedure, you will need one functional key and one key that requires programming. 1) Enter and secure all doors. 2) Turn the ignition on and off rapidly. (No longer than five seconds) to initiate the procedure. The next action must occur within 30 seconds. 3) Eliminate the first key. 4) Hold the button near your left shoulder so that it is closer to the antenna of the remote receiver. 5) Maintaining the unlock button depressed, press the lock button three times. When the unlock button is released, the doors secure, confirming the operation. 6) Repeat steps 4 and 5 for the second key, etc. If it does not work, try pressing the keys backwards. Instead of 1 then 2, press 2 then 1. Method 3: Alternate if you lack a functional remote Quickly turn the key to position 1 five times 2. Remove the key 3. Hold the unlock button, then press the lock button three times, and then release the unlock button. 4. If you have another key, select the identical button within 30 seconds 5.Start the engine to conclude. NOTE: This programming procedure programmes the key's remote control feature. A specialist is required to programme any transponder device for the immobiliser (car beginning).
  4. Was it a private or dealer purchase, etc.? If dealer, etc., return it. As ridiculous as it may seem, is it a disc changer? Dust might cause this, so try blowing into it instead. Key may need to be reprogrammed; my E46 is now experiencing this issue. Sorry, I can't assist with TV displays.
  5. What matters is the taper angle (0 45 90)? (complete camber / half and half / complete toe) However, since the pivot angle for the trailing arm is around 30 degrees, there will always be bump steer from the rear; Ford purposefully built it this way. This is also how the BMW Z axle works. In a PURE back axle, the rear wheels track inside the front wheels while turning, and the front wheels take a greater side load (due to the larger diameter circle they take), resulting in understeer in the limit (BAD). Having some rear steer due to roll (the inside wheel is lightly loaded and simply skids) evens out the side load and makes the car safer. Because they were built for a rear suspension with the trailing arm pivot across the vehicle and no rear roll steer, the cheap modified tiny dampers that became zimerides couldn't control the back end.
  6. https://awooga.nl/stuff/vdo.html Hope it helps someone!
  7. Is there a possible explanation for the failure?
  8. Nothing more to say, but Johnny seems like an old-school mechanic rather than a new professional who would just replace a component and watch how it went rather than attempt a repair or fix.
  9. Give us feedback on the RS tyres. Be significantly enhanced with a facelift. I did the same thing as you and replaced the back tyres first, but not long thereafter discovered that the front tyres also needed replacing.
  10. To be honest, this has been completed countless times. There are many excellent tyres available; it depends on your needs. As stated, I like Uniroyal's, but others do not because they do not perform well over long distances; however, I don't travel far, so they suit me. I believe reviews are the way to go for smooth travel and fewer miles with Uniroyal tyres and so on.
  11. Many people have switched from run-flat tyres to regular ones. All four of my tyres are Uniroyal rainsports. I now also carry a 12v pump and a plug kit.
  12. If I'm not sure, I just change them for what it costs.
  13. Have you replaced all of the hoover pipes? You seem to have a split in one or two of them.
  14. Excellent article, Boostist! Two thumbs up! And for those who are curious, OBD is an abbreviation for "on board diagnostics":cool
  15. Again, the awful black gunge. As Johnnie says, the only way to stop it from blocking is to turn off the tank.
