  1. I fail to comprehend the justification for granting you a refund. Despite their first mistake, they rectified it without any further cost, as they should have. Furthermore, they waived the MOT price, ensuring that you were not put at a disadvantage, and provided compensation for the inconvenience.
  2. It is recommended to use puraflex 40, available at Toolstation, on the metalwork. Then, proceed to place the seal in position.
  3. On my vehicle, there was a leakage originating from the area behind the number plate holder. There were perhaps 16 or more potential places of leakage located behind it. Perhaps the third brake light as well. 👍
  4. The gearbox model is 722.9, which does not have a dipstick.
  5. The wheels possess a visually appealing appearance, characterised by their colour and design.
  6. Several years ago, this was my personal experience or story.
  7. Wishing you the best of luck, DreamWeaver. Leicester is not an enjoyable destination to visit. A few years back, we attended an airshow nearby and unfortunately had the experience of travelling into Leicester to purchase foldable chairs. It is the place when I effectively joined the RAF 🙂
  8. Personally, I would not have any involvement with a black automobile under any circumstances. The colour of my first vehicle, which was manufactured in 1971, was black. Since then, I have not had any more automobiles of the same colour. In my opinion, a silvery grey hue is the optimal colour choice for minimising the visibility of dirt. Currently, we own two automobiles that are of a medium shade of blue. These cars are not in excellent condition, however one of them has a two-tone design with a silver bottom half that is somewhat better.
  9. Indeed, it is another potential location where rust may be present - the back screen is exhibiting fogging and delamination around its borders, which is cause for concern. I am considering the financial implications of resolving all the issues vs tolerating the unpleasant aspects.
  10. Oh, I find it intriguing that I was not previously aware of the usual difficulty in matching silver. It is beneficial to have this information, thank you!
  11. Greetings, everyone. The colour of my SEC is Smoke Silver, with a paint code of 702. Since I have had it, the vehicle has obtained a few insignificant little dings and there is some corrosion forming around the wheel arches. I would want to know whether the hue Smoke Silver would be difficult to match if I were to bring it to a body shop. Considering the age of the current paint, will it be challenging to achieve a colour match during a partial respray? Frankly, I am uncertain of the typical procedure for repairing these specific areas of the vehicle's exterior. I would very appreciate any guidance or suggestions you may provide. If anybody could suggest a reputable establishment in the London/Kent region, it would be much appreciated. Thank you very much!
  12. The automobile is equipped with buttons, but none of them are specifically for the alarm. Instead, the buttons are intended for controlling the inside lighting, as well as for activating the SOS and Mercedes Me features. The video in the introductory message cannot be accessed, but, the interior and motion sensors remain active at all times until manually deactivated immediately before to securing the vehicle. Reactivated upon subsequent entry into the automobile.
  13. An excellent but costly choice is Krytox, the seal restorer highly suggested by BMW for the Eos (notorious for seal issues!). A more cost-effective option is GummiPflege, and the most affordable source is often Micks Garage on Ebay when purchasing two items instead of one. I have been use that product on both of my vehicles for a considerable number of years, including my previous 968 cabriolet before acquiring the SLK.
  14. However, other videos and internet sources indicate that the left-hand pane should show the current fuel reserve in real-time. Consequently, I remain uninformed and uncertain about this matter.
  15. I conducted the Instrument test and had the following result.
  16. I am interested in acquiring more information about it. Thank you.
  17. Please update us on the sound of your exhaust after you have finished the emissions campaign. 😉
  18. I believe you may be correct on the modification in the update.
  19. The Sportage GT Line S HEV for the year 2023. When utilising the trip computer in driving information mode, I used to drive and make intermittent stops throughout the day for various purposes such as pick-ups, drop-offs, and coffee breaks. As long as my stops did not exceed 4 hours at any given time, the trip computer would display the accumulated information for the entire day. Currently, if I stop and resume the vehicle, even after a minute, the information is being reset to zero each time. This is not desirable, as it should retain the prior information. I would want to know how to restore it to function with the 4-hour option. Please refer to the handbook for further information. Display of driving information This display provides trip distance (1), average fuel efficiency (2), and total driving time (3) data once each ignition cycle. Fuel economy is determined by calculating the distance a vehicle has travelled once it has exceeded 300 metres. The Driving Information will be reset four hours after the ignition has been off. Therefore, if the car ignition is activated within a time frame of 4 hours, the data will not be cleared. Pressing the "OK" button for a duration of 1 second or more after the Driving Information is shown will result in the reset of the shown information. Information will be gathered as long as the engine is running, regardless of whether the vehicle is in motion or not.
  20. Do not skimp on the quality of wiper blades. Proceed with the OE process.
  21. They possess a throttle, albeit its use differs significantly from that of a petrol engine. Indeed, during regular operation of a Diesel engine, the throttle is completely open, and the speed is regulated by the amount of fuel being supplied. However, the throttle serves additional functions as well: The flow of EGR depends on the difference in pressure between the exhaust and intake systems. When the engine is not running at high speed, the difference in pressure between the intake and the surrounding environment may be too low. To address this, the throttle may be partly closed in order to produce a negative pressure in the intake. This results in a larger difference, enabling the appropriate flow of exhaust gas recirculation (EGR). During the process of engine shutdown, the engine is closed and then opened again immediately after it comes to a stop. This results in a seamless and stable halt without any tremors. If an engine has an overspeed, the throttle is promptly closed, therefore limiting the amount of air entering the engine. In the absence of air, there is no combustion. Intentionally reducing the volumetric efficiency of the engine might be beneficial when doing a static regen and aiming to raise heat. While Mercedes may not be suitable for all these instances, there are other manufacturers who do provide vehicles that are suitable.
  22. Typically, the electronic control unit (ECU) instructs the throttle to shut when it detects an overspeed. There is no longer a need to forcefully insert a cloth into the air intake.
