Mercedes CL vs Bentley Continental GT

Recommended Posts

Greetings, everybody.

I would want to compare the Mercedes CL C216 facelift (2010-2014) with the Bentley Continental GT Second generation (2011-2018). Particularly concerning ride quality, general refinement, and construction quality?

Thank you in advance.

Only if you compare a 2012 model to another 2012 model. (In terms of price)

After 60,000 kilometres, the cost comparison is £20,000 vs £30,000.

The CL63 costs £25,000.

The CL is a dependable and cost-effective option that is efficient to use, but does it have sufficient pulling power?

Is the Bentley Continental the appropriate statement to make?

The OP did not reference the CL63.

I get your perspective on the statement. Both individuals might potentially be either a scaffolding business director or have a reserved parking spot in the directors' car park at Finchley Golf Club, depending on their age. (Excluding Mill Hill)

Uncertain about my choice, however my inclination is towards the Bentley because of my snobbish tendencies.

Fascinating and relevant inquiry. I formerly had a C216 CL500 (4.7TT) till three years ago. I now own a W222 S class but just test drove a Continental GT V8. After seeing a significant decrease in pricing, I am now intrigued. The Continental I test drove was a decade old, had 48,000 miles, and was priced in the mid $30,000s. The performance and throttle response were notably improved compared to the CL, which had a tendency to be sluggish. Despite using 21-inch wheels, the ride quality and refinement were superb. The V8 engine transitioned smoothly from being luxurious and smooth to exhilarating when pushed, without any creaks or noises. I enjoyed it much, but you will need to experience it yourself.

My friend had a Continental GT from 2016 that was excellent. He now has a Continental Convertible, which is superior. The plate has the initials PBD1.

I have not experienced the Mercedes counterpart, but it must be very competitive to rival the Volkswagen.

Although I enjoyed the short test drive of the Continental, the association with VW heritage does concern me....I am considering purchasing a C217 S500 coupe, since costs have significantly decreased recently, however they are not easy to find.

In 2014, I used the red V8 Bentley often. The Bentley would emit a distinctive aroma typical of its brand, while also performing as a Grand Tourer with a genuine feeling of importance and impressive speed.

I often drove this automobile from Crewe to the Lake District while working on its development.

Truthfully, the Audi A8 I purchased in 2020 was a superior vehicle. Efficient, silent, cosy, roomy, and capable of achieving 55mpg, making it more cost-effective to operate. It just depends on how significant a prestigious emblem is to you.

Have you ever resided within a 75-mile radius of Crewe?

What mileage and driving conditions do you anticipate for your new Muse?

While it may not directly address the test question, it will contribute to shaping the responses.
