Blu_Ray_UK2007
630i gasoline model with the N52 engine - Does anyone have any ideas about the following intermittent problem? There is a short drop in power output whenever the engine is running, although this only happens very seldom. The issue manifests itself randomly, yet it consistently takes place at the following time. When I reach an intersection after a period of regular driving at a constant or varied pace, I come to a complete stop or slow down. When it is safe to do so, I will attempt to quicken my pace. The automobile first reacts properly (perhaps for less than a second), but then it abruptly stops responding at all. This just continues for a fraction of a second until the power is restored and everything goes back to how it was before. I have no clue if it is an issue with the engine (which is quite likely), or whether it has anything to do with the gearbox (such as a hasty choice to change gears) - Do you have any ideas? IrvesBMW
If the problem only occurs when the vehicle is loaded or while it is moving away, might it be a problem with the traction control? Imagines that it has regained traction and that everything is back to normal after turning off the power because it believed it had lost it. It's possible that the problem lies in the gearbox's software; why not try resetting the throttle and going from there?
Blu_Ray_UK2007
Both of these are sound recommendations. It goes without saying that I won't be handling things on my own, but it is helpful to have an idea of what the issue may be when discussing it with the garage. I am going to guess that "resetting the throttle" is not a task that I am responsible for either!
IrvesBMW
Only if you don't know how to read and don't have any feet!! Look it up on the forum, but I think you have to have the key in the ignition but the engine turned off, the gas pedal all the way down, and you have to keep holding it for approximately 40 seconds until you hear a faint click (and it is really faint, so go someplace quiet!). Turn off the ignition, start the vehicle, and continue driving as you normally would............ I really doubt that this will be of any use to you, but it's a free option that you may try out on your own!
Paqngo
Does it also do that when set on the sport mode? I seem to remember that some individuals have received a software update that has resolved this issue.
Blu_Ray_UK2007
In the end, what really was the problem? This seems like the perfect accompaniment to what I'm eating.
WordSmith
This is a known problem, and depending on the amount of integration that is currently installed in the vehicle, a software upgrade may be necessary. After then, there is a certain technique for adaptation that has to be carried out. In the event that this does not work, it is possible that you have a slow Valvetronic motor. Blu_Ray_UK2007
I've reached out to the original poster; here's hoping he responds, to be honest! What exactly do you mean when you talk about integration level? Procedure for adaptation? Thank you so much for the response; I was getting close to becoming desperate. WordSmith
As you are undoubtedly aware, all BMW software upgrades come with integration levels. These integration levels allow the dealer to easily determine what programming level the car is programmed with by reading the key data, which is one of the many simple ways to verify. After the programming has been brought up to date, there is a lengthy adaptation method that must be carried out. This procedure must be performed to the letter in order to attempt to correct the error.
Blu_Ray_UK2007
What elements make up the adapting process specifically? There is a nearby independent garage that has autologic and can do iDrive upgrades. I suppose they can also perform eCU updates. In that case, what kinds of updates should I inquire about from him? What about the engine and the gearbox? OP has been in contact with me: He installed software upgrades, which markedly reduced the problem's severity. Paqngo
did he really repair it, or did he merely enhance it? to your health!
Blu_Ray_UK2007
I still get a very flat area, but there are none of those "oh f**k, I've stalled going into a round about" moments that I used to dread.
Mistral
best wishes I am also experiencing this problem; has anybody found a solution to it? or modernize Who was responsible for updating the program, and what kind of upgrade was it? software for the gearbox or something else altogether
CodeCrusader
This issue occurs in my 2006 BMW 630i convertible, which I purchased new. If anybody is still around or if someone has brought this problem back up with a fresh post, the question is: does this problem merely need an update to the software?
