What kind of alignment tool are you utilising?
-
Which specific kind of wrench are you referring to and what is the range of sizes it can accommodate? In order to achieve a torque of 8 Newton meters with precision, it would be best to use a torque wrench with a range of around 16 Newton meters. However, using a torque wrench with a range of 20 Newton meters should still be acceptable. Therefore, your desired torque value falls within the centre region of the operating range. If your wrench has a torque rating of 120Nm, it will never correctly or consistently reach a torque of 8Nm since it exceeds its designed range of operation. To get the highest level of accuracy, it is recommended to recalibrate the device based on fundamental principles, specifically for a torque value of 8Nm.

Was your insurance premium affected in any way by this? I do not think it enhances the appearance, and the lights will not be as brilliant, therefore I would not install it on my vehicle. However, I must admit that I am an old goat.

Recall issued for EGR in BMW 2 Series! The year 2024

Did you add 5 litres? The oil level only increases by around 1 litre while filling the dipstick from completely empty to maximum capacity, which takes roughly 5 units of measurement. I recommend refraining from using the engine until it has been thoroughly drained and replaced with the appropriate quantity of fluid. I suspect that the pistons may be submerged when they reach the bottom dead centre (BDC) position. -
Presence of oil in the combustion chamber.

I would want to replace the plugs. whether the oil seems greasy when the plug is removed, it is likely that the oil level has decreased. It would be prudent to determine the actual cause before replacing the rocker gasket, since it would need to be removed regardless whether the head is taken off. Replace the injector with a different cylinder and observe whether the problem transfers to the new location. Performing a compression test is a recommended course of action. -
BMW - Suspected Arson - Seeking Advice
VWDaveBMW replied to cumblechook22's topic in General Discussions
Have you notified your insurance provider about this incident? If you have European Cover and Arson is not explicitly excluded in your policy, you should be eligible for coverage and they will be obligated to provide compensation. The responsibility is with the individuals to make a claim on the insurance for the garage. However, it is important to note that this claim will be seen as a formal request for compensation, which may result in an increase in your insurance rates. Nevertheless, if your insurance company successfully recovers the entire amount from the garage's insurance, you may get a refund for the premium increase, and the claim will ideally be categorised as not being your fault. -
Assistance for Car Dealers and Mechanics

I would go, as previously said. The garage itself should be acquainted with a reputable BMW specialist in the vicinity. A friend of mine owns a garage, and when he has difficulties with a BMW, he seeks my assistance. If I am unable to provide a solution, we conclude that it requires the expertise of Stuart, who must possess extensive knowledge of BMWs. -
I hope they resolve the issue for you, considering the substantial amount of money you likely spent on purchasing a new one. You might have had the last one repaired, since it was not a significant task.

I had no difficulties when I replaced the battery in a 2004 e46 that I owned before. From whence did they get the module? Is it defective? Additionally, I acquired a second-hand car key for my friend's vehicle around four years ago. I purchased it from an online marketplace, specifically from a similar car model. This particular key was designed to be easily installed and activated, requiring just a synchronisation process with the keyfob.

I need a silver motorised folding wing mirror for an E46 M3 coupe.
VWDaveBMW replied to Paqngo's topic in General Discussions
In the past, I have successfully corrected similar issues on several vehicle models, however I have not specifically worked on a BMW. Therefore, I cannot definitively confirm whether the repair can be performed on a BMW, although I would be astonished if it were impossible. -

Hopefully, the price of these mirrors will be lower than that of the M6 mirrors. 🤣🤣 -
Upgrade from a 2012 318D to a previous generation 325 or newer.

Understood, friend. I will postpone the concept for now, focusing on other tasks such as the wheel arch, and attempt to serendipitously locate a high-quality one. I value your counsel, my friend. -

What were the prevalent malfunctions of your device in the past? I am willing to tolerate minor repairs sometimes, but I really like to avoid frequent major infrastructure failures. -

Is the wear mostly cosmetic, or will it result in a louder cockpit or any other related issues? Can I anticipate a significant improvement in performance when upgrading from a 318D to a 325i? Thank you for your response, friend. I am not in a hurry to complete the exchange, so I will remain vigilant for a vehicle owned by an enthusiast, as per your recommendation.
