I own a 2019 420d Gran Coupe. The car is indicating that the next service is required after covering a distance of 4,000 miles, however the MyBMW app states that the next oil change is necessary after covering a distance of 7,500 miles. The MOT is scheduled for next month. An independent performed the main service 28,000 kilometres ago, 12 months ago. In addition, I had the brake pads replaced by an independent mechanic in Croatia over the previous summer. The present distance stands at 40,000. Once the MOT has been conducted at the major dealers, I will promptly have the oil replaced without delay. I would want to inquire about the reason for the variance of 4,000 to 7,500 miles and whether this observation has been made by others.

To remove the remaining air, I leave it running for 30 minutes while removing the cap. In the past, I have even engaged in a run while removing the cap and carrying a container of coolant on a malfunctioning vehicle.

I would like to provide you with an update. I had my original alternator refurbished and you successfully fitted it this morning. It is now functioning properly. However, the newly purchased aftermarket alternator is not functioning properly. Therefore, I am returning it. Thank you for your assistance. I have now encountered a fault code for the fuel pressure sensor, so I will be replacing it.

The vehicle in question was a rebuilt aftermarket Lucus. I believe the one that was removed was a Bosch.

I have successfully installed a new thermostat and water pump, as well as changed the heater valves. However, I am still experiencing a lack of generator signal. Additionally, the bimmerlink battery is now at 27% capacity, although being fully charged. Furthermore, when I directly measure the voltage of the alternator using a multimeter, it fluctuates between 13.6% and 14.4%. I have successfully installed and calibrated a new Bosch 110ah battery and changed the alternator, since the bearings in my existing 2009 630i n53 e64 engine were producing excessive noise. This situation is causing significant distress. Additionally, I have replaced the ignition switch with a second-hand one. I am now uncertain about the next steps to take.

Could it be the heating valves located under the hood? Apologies for the oversight, but is worth noting that the vehicle in question is a 2009 e64 630i.

I have replaced the negative cable (IBS) on two occasions, as well as the positive cable including the little wire that connects to the socket for the IBS. This replacement was done as a precautionary measure in case the plug was defective. However, I am still experiencing similar difficulties. Both the alternator and the 110ah battery have been changed and reregistered. Any assistance would be much appreciated.

Would changing the hard drive void Mondial's warranty?
-
Thank you, Ortsmatt but isn't it varied across various cars? That seems to be an outdated IDE connection as well.
-
There isn't - that's likely due to my geeky nature.

Is it feasible to update or replace the hard disc on the iDrive system? Is there a 30GB option available? I am considering replacing it with an SSD if the process is straightforward.

Is our money secure in the BMW service plan?

Is our money secure in the BMW service plan?

Yes, this seems to be the eMac blueprint for BMW. It seems to be a BMW but is really an eMac. The BMW dealership strategies are somewhat different. You buy from the dealership at a somewhat lower price, but the transaction still occurs via eMac. The main distinction from the 'BMW' one is that the plan is exclusive to the dealership. If the dealership goes bankrupt, the plan becomes unusable at other locations. I contacted with eMac, who said that you are eligible for a refund for any money paid but not used for service. -

I did not intend for this to become into a debate between independent and authorised dealers. I will use the major dealer for warranty guarantees, but I have a serious worry regarding honouring payments. We do not make payments to BMW, we make payments to eMac. eMac processes the payment, arranges the service, and transfers the money to BMW only when we bring our vehicles to the shop. -

Is this speculative or are you verifying? -
I had been planning to purchase a service package from BMW. I was informed that Emac is the one who receives payment and oversees the insurance. I inquired about the consequences if emac were to go bankrupt or if the partnership with BMW were to dissolve. What is the fate of the money we have paid? I have conversed with two individuals from BMW UK who said they were unaware and showed no inclination to investigate further. I have spoken with Emac, who said they were unaware of the situation and promised to follow up, but have not done so. However, their statement would be insignificant if they were to go bankrupt. Does anybody possess the answer? The inquiry seems to be rather common, therefore the absence of confirmation from BMW is troubling.

Thank you for the reply, gentlemen. I have recently sent a private message to Bwchiptune. Additionally, I have applied WD40 to the plugs, completely dried the enclosure, and left 4 bags of silica gel weighing 50 grammes each for a duration of 72 hours. Following these steps, I proceeded to install the DDE. Although I haven't inspected any fuses yet, I would want to know whether there is a fuse diagram available for the F13 coupe on the site. The handbook that came with the vehicle does not include one.

Greetings, everybody. I am now encountering some complex difficulties with my DDE/ECU and would really appreciate any valuable insights or solutions. Recently, my Electronic Control Unit (ECU) malfunctioned, resulting in its display becoming illegible and rendering the vehicle unable to start. After doing an inspection, I saw indications of dampness in the vicinity of the plugs, which led me to think that water damage is the cause. Upon the failure of the ECU, many malfunctions were shown on the iDrive system, encompassing drive train, ABS, hand brake, and SOS system alerts. To address the problem, I substituted the Electronic Control Unit (ECU) with a pre-owned unit that has the same Bosch identification numbers and had the Individual Serial Number (ISN) replicated from the Car Access System (CAS). Nevertheless, despite these endeavours, the same shortcomings have reemerged. Despite establishing contact with the Electronic Control Unit (ECU) and successfully starting and running the automobile at 1500 rpm, there is a lack of responsiveness in the throttle. I received guidance that I need a conclusive code, and I made arrangements for remote coding using the RJ45 OBD2 interface. Regrettably, the remote coding did not provide complete results, as it seems that ign 15 was not functioning despite the ignition being activated. I am contacting this group with the expectation that someone may have faced a similar circumstance or possibly provide important recommendations. I would much appreciate any suggestions or insights that anybody may have. I appreciate your anticipated time and support.

Does your BMW have an AGM or EFB battery?
VWDaveBMW replied to IrvesBMW's topic in General Discussions
The refurbishment of these items may be done at a cost of £300. The process involves disassembling them and recharging the cells. It is important to note that this procedure cannot be carried out using turrets. I have seen a YouTube video demonstrating the process, which seems to be rather hazardous and requires the use of a suitable charger. I own a Noco Genius charger that is capable of charging lithium batteries, but it is only effective for batteries that are still in good condition.I use my stop-start feature on a monthly basis to verify that my battery remains at full capacity. -
