  1. I am experiencing an issue with the headlights on my 2010 Mercedes 250 Coupe. When the headlights are on high beam, they seem to scatter erratically rather than illuminating the road ahead. It is likely that the reflective coating inside the units has sustained damage or corrosion. Is there anybody who can provide the accurate component number for replacement lights? It seems that the Saloon has a distinct lighting system compared to my Coupe. Any guidance would be very beneficial. Thank you.
  2. Indeed, they would not substitute a screw without documenting it.
  3. via the service history, of course. When purchasing a secondhand automobile, I consistently verify the service history. Proceed to the service area with the proprietor and request it. The repair would be conducted in the official MB service centre and documented accordingly. If it were performed at a different repair facility, you would remain unaware.
  4. Thank you for your reply. Indeed, I possess the benefit of a warranty; but, any repairs or replacements of the gearbox in a new vehicle lead to a substantial depreciation in value in my nation. I would categorically refuse any repair or replacement for the gearbox. I would only consider software modifications or maybe chip replacements. If they are unable to rectify the issue without component repairs or replacements, I will be compelled to legally request a new vehicle. Unless they provide me with the same outcome without resorting to legal action, I believe I am entitled to it, as advised by my lawyer buddy who also recommended this course of action. We shall see the outcome. I will inform you on the developments and how Mercedes is managing or failing to manage the problem.
  5. Greetings, everyone. I seem to be experiencing a significant gearbox issue with my 'brand new' w214 e220d 4matic. Just before to the vehicle coming to a halt, the whole automobile trembles. Occasionally gently, at other times more forcefully. The intensity of the tremors fluctuates. I see that it is mostly more pronounced downhill. To see this behaviour, the vehicle must transition from second gear to first gear and then come to a complete stop. Gradually.. They performed some "adaptation" and "coding" for the transmission and instructed me to drive for a while and return it if the problem continues. And consider this. It does indeed. They have been attempting to resolve the issue for two weeks. Unsuccessful. This is something you cannot comprehend if the start/stop function is enabled. Have you encountered anything of this nature? The service personnel assert that they did not. It is very aggravating and upsetting to see such an inaccuracy in a "flagship" Mercedes. My prior five series never shown such behaviour. 😞
  6. You will get a TC, and I will obtain 10 litres of ATF. You are familiar with the procedure to follow, and the oil must be pumped in. The only reason for my inquiry is that many occasionally assume the method is same to that of 5G, where oil may be added, and once emptied, one may find themselves incapacitated without a pump. I would purchase a kit, which generally includes a new overflow tube.
  7. Thank you; I believe I will await their findings and concur that they are unlikely to accommodate original equipment components.
  8. This is the first AMG from an M5 enthusiast, and it will not be the last.
  9. Greetings everyone, I have just had the rear subframe of my 2014 E63 estate inspected by Epsom MB. I undertook this action under the recommendation of my MB expert (SS Motors) after my MOT, which noted corrosion as an advised issue. MB Epsom is replacing the subframe at no cost as a gesture of goodwill, which I find quite gratifying. I have been scheduled as the components are available. The inquiry pertains to the supplementary components to be substituted when the frame is removed. I have been informed of new bolts, brake line repair, and bushings. Has anybody completed all of those tasks, or is it really a matter of having MB rebuild the subframe? Will they substitute the bushes with new ones or retain the existing ones? Has anybody installed polyurethane bushings to enhance rigidity further? Was riding comfort influenced by such factors? Thank you.
  10. The E-Class offers somewhat more power and torque, albeit it utilises the same engine. The M274 is the new four-cylinder petrol engine for the whole range for the foreseeable future, as far as I am aware. It is undoubtedly an ingenious creation; yet, it is regrettable that little effort was devoted to enhancing its auditory appeal. It also serves as the foundation for the A45 AMG engine.
  11. I expect the AMG line will have a more rigid ride owing to the firmer, sport-oriented suspension.
  12. Are you seeking any kind of warranty or guarantee?
  13. The visibility of the break in the spring may vary depending on its location. Mercedes coil springs are tailored to the car and its array of optional features. The springs are accompanied with a code of coloured dots. I would like to await the appropriate components.
  14. Indeed, I believe I was rather hasty and inattentive when toasting bread this morning. 😝 I should have said that you should seek expert repair for optimal results, including smart or chip repair. While DIY is feasible, my execution would be conspicuously flawed.
  15. Obtain a quotation from an auto body shop. They have been stripped to bare steel, as evident. If they are not completely ground down to eliminate the rust and properly treated, you will ultimately have a hole in your roof. While DIY is an option, the outcomes are likely to be subpar (at least, if I were to do this task, the results would be unsatisfactory).
  16. Measure the duration on the next outing. My Kuga exhibited consistent performance at all instances and distances for several weeks.
  17. My Ford Kuga loses signal after around 20 minutes or 7 miles of driving. I am not an expert; yet, it is what it is, to be honest. If you own a scanner, when the event occurs, remain still and verify the TPMS using the OBD2 connection. However, if you are certain it is none of those options, it necessitates a visit to MB, among others. They sleep while it is not being operated.
  18. I assume that one of your TPMS sensors may be defective. Potential reasons include depleted batteries or damage resulting from recent tire replacements.
  19. Greetings, everyone! Could someone recommend a reputable valeting firm in the Surrey region, ideally around Guildford? I want to maintain my E350 in optimal shape, but I lack the time and suitable weather to do it, and I detest it being unclean. Any assistance would be much appreciated. Salutations
  20. As already said. I recommend scheduling a gearbox repair with a Mercedes-Benz expert, rather than a franchised dealer. Ensure they first scan the error codes using STAR and then provide their assessment on whether a gearbox service would rectify the problem. Purchasing an iCarsoft MB V2 or V3 allows you to delete problem codes and monitor their recurrence, provided you document the fault codes prior to deletion. Transmission issues are characterised by the fact that, even upon identification, there is little scope for DIY repair of the issue. If the error codes are cleared and do not reappear, everything is OK; nevertheless, it is still necessary to maintain the gearbox owing to its age and usage.
  21. What is the car's mileage? When was the gearbox last maintained? Furthermore, it must be compatible with STAR, or at the very least, with iCarsoft or a comparable system.
  22. Is your foot securely positioned on the brake pedal? Have you verified the ATF level? When was the gearbox last maintained?
  23. Are you certain this vehicle is an S212 and not a W212?
