CyberNinja
I own a 2020 520D with a 2-liter engine. A mechanic, who is not affiliated with BMW, advises replacing the oil and filter annually rather than biennially as recommended by BMW. He is capable of doing the task, and the garage in which he is employed has the BMW software. He asserts that the vehicle will have less engine issues as it ages. I plan to sell the automobile when it is around seven years old. Do you have any recommendations or opinions?
IrvesBMW
I agree that yearly oil changes or those every 10,000 miles are essential for maintaining engine health; the BMW intervals are detrimental to engine longevity.
Blu_Ray_UK2007
It is a 25-year-old vehicle, so please take care of it. What is the mileage?
CyberNinja
Thank you for your responses. Apologies for the typographical error; it pertains to a 2020 vehicle.
Howard_silver
12 months of 7k for me, but I completed it myself. I have worked in the industry my whole life (now retired) and would never use oil for 2 years or 20,000 miles, regardless of contemporary claims about today's oils. jimmy47785
The accurate computation should be based on miles rather than time. because. If you earn 20,000 annually, you should reduce the OCI by fifty percent biannually. Time is particularly significant while travelling downtown, purchasing groceries, or during a brief commute, among other factors. In such instance, you should likewise adhere to the same OCI directive. Rashman4u
I firmly feel that frequent oil changes are essential for engine longevity. I replace mine every ten thousand miles at most, and on my last 640d, I performed the replacement every six months. I now own a 2021 M4 and replace it every five thousand miles. I am fortunate that my friends own a garage, allowing me access to premium oil at wholesale prices and their ramps. salutations
