Regarding the process of re-lensing your R8 headlights
Rojoires replied to ianwh4's topic in General Discussions
From where did you purchase the lenses? I would want to darken my headlights and, if possible, replace the lenses with new ones. Additionally, it would be necessary to purchase replacement lenses for the rear lights due to their tendency to break in the customary manner of Audi vehicles, amusingly enough. -

Connecting an iPhone to a 2005 Comand System
Rojoires replied to cumblechook22's topic in General Discussions
The first iPhone was introduced around two years after the production of your vehicle. In my 2006 C class, there is a UHI device connected to the 'hot shoe' located in the armrest. Despite having only Audio 20, my car is equipped for telephony and successfully connects with my iPhone 13. However, the whole user experience seems outdated and somewhat unpleasant. The keypad on the dashboard is non-functional, hence the only method to initiate a call is by scrolling on the dashboard. Furthermore, the audio output of the call is limited to a single speaker located in the passenger footwell. Personally, I am unperturbed by this since I get satisfaction from driving without engaging in conversation with others. If you need a fully functional phone, there are other alternatives available. In my view, purchasing a costly MB UHI (it should be noted that they may all seem similar but are really different) is not a wise choice. commandonline.co.uk, which is a sponsor on this platform, will provide you with guidance that aligns with your specific requirements. -
I have a strong preference for Honda vehicles, with the DC2R being my favourite car until it was stolen, and the NA1 NSX being my dream car. However, I assure you that the R8 is also an excellent choice, since I believe the first generation R8 is a worthy successor to the NSX in terms of its spiritual essence. The manual was of utmost significance to me in the automobile, although the stronic gearbox is also an exceptional feature. Ensure that you watch Ricky's comprehensive guidelines for buyers, and for detailed information on individual vehicles, you will have a higher probability of success by referring to the UK R8 Facebook groups.

The A0 service quotation is rather expensive.

Thank you both. If it is necessary, please don't hesitate to pay it. I only wanted to confirm that it was within the expected range. I will also review the website. -
Good day, everyone. I had high expectations for my 63 and anticipated a costly service, with an approximate cost of £400. However, the price from Hughes of Beaconsfield is £870. The vehicle is three years old and has accumulated 27,500 kilometres, with a PP and dif. The reason for the expense is because the gearbox and differential oil need maintenance owing to the age of the automobile. Does this sound accurate or am I being manipulated? Thank you in advance.

VCDS use the actual OBD port. VCDS does provide OBD communication protocol capabilities. Unless the OBD function is expressly selected from the interface, most objects do not use the OBD protocol. The device communicates directly with the CanBus Gateway utilising precise Audi/VAG protocols. Many people mistakenly believe that VCDS is OBD due to their same physical port connection. VCDS utilises additional pins on the OBD port standard, which were originally designated as spare. An OBD (ELM327) scanner will only detect data that is required by OBD regulations or optionally provided by the manufacturer, often related to emissions and similar aspects. VCDS has advanced capabilities that allow you to do tasks, access data, and read fault codes that are beyond the capabilities of a standard OBD scanner. When acquiring a VCDS cable, it is advisable to only purchase from their authorised distributors. New ones discovered in other places are probably replicas. Used items may be authentic, however I have noticed that they may be pricier than new ones due to changes in the licencing model. The cables are licenced individually, with some newer ones requiring a licence per vehicle. The software is free, therefore a registered cable may be used on any device with VCDS software installed without requiring re-registration.

It relies on the items you own. Finding components for a Soft Dash model might be quite challenging. Even on the Hard Dash, it will be challenging. Don't forget about components such as the heater, air conditioning, central console, brake pipes, and power steering pipes, among others. It is straightforward if you own the necessary components, but it becomes complex and costly if you do not. The optimal approach would likely include purchasing a very corroded vehicle and stealing it. -
Acquiring a (fresh) R8 [Assistance Needed!]
Rojoires replied to Chrishazle's topic in General Discussions
In my assessment, the R8 seems to be impervious to bullets. I am a member of the R8 club in Holland, where we own many vehicles that have successfully covered distances over 100,000 km without encountering any issues. In my opinion, the Huracan Performante is too expensive. I have undergone the same purchasing process.I recommend that you test drive several automobiles to experience the disparities. The automobile must undergo maintenance by an authorised dealer and possess a title that is free from any encumbrances. The Audi history is very commendable, and the car's trajectory can be easily traced. There is almost little change between the facelift variants, save for the timing of the gearbox. In my own opinion, I have a preference for the pre-facelift version due to its much superior sound quality without the inclusion of OPF (Otto Particulate Filter). Equipped with an aftermarket exhaust, the sound quality surpasses that of a Huracan P. -

There is likely air trapped in the system. Allow some distance for it to gradually dissipate.

Only if more than 50% of it protrudes from the sprocket face. It seems that in order to effectively remove the broken key, the drive sprocket will need to be taken off. -
TPMS problem with the 2020 XCeed 2 model.
Rojoires replied to Rojoires's topic in General Discussions
Thank you everyone. I am attempting to communicate with the dealer who sold me the car in order to persuade them to assume responsibility for the expenses associated with repairing it, or alternatively, to do the repairs themselves. However, I am also seeking assistance here to see whether anybody else has encountered a similar situation and is aware of the appropriate solution. Optimally, the goal is to resolve the issue efficiently and expeditiously for all parties concerned. The dealer from where the car was purchased seems to lack the expertise to repair it, since they are not an authorised Kia dealership. The Kia shop in my area, which is unconnected to the issue at hand, recommended replacing the back tyres. However, I was dissatisfied by the dealer's lack of certainty over whether this would resolve the problem. If anybody has encountered this problem and discovered a solution, it would greatly benefit me to have the ability to guide the dealer towards the appropriate course of action. Seeking to minimise recurring trips to several garages without achieving any repairs. -
I am now experiencing a problem with the TPMS sensor on my just purchased 2020 Kia XCeed, which occurred within the last two months. The TPMS warning is activated. Subsequently, I bring the car back to its place of origin and allow it to remain there overnight, allowing the tyres to reach a lower temperature. After the car has cooled down, I check the tyre pressures and confirm that they are all accurate. Subsequently, I use the TPMS button inside the vehicle to recalibrate the tyre pressures, doing this by maintaining pressure on the button for a duration of 3 seconds, so eliminating the alert. However, usually after 5-10 minutes of starting my next drive, the TPMS alert reappears. I have performed this procedure an indeterminate number of times! Thus far, I have returned the car to the dealership from whom I made the purchase, as well as to a nearby Kia dealership. Both individuals have been unsuccessful in resolving the problem and are uncertain about the appropriate solution. The technician at the Kia store said that a potential reason of the issue might be an inconsistency in the tread depth of the two rear tyres. Specifically, one of the rear tyres has a tread depth of 5mm, while the other three tyres have a tread depth of 7mm. He suggested that I consider replacing the two rear tyres, stating that it "could potentially resolve the issue." Has anybody encountered this problem and identified its root cause? I am hesitant to spend over £200 on purchasing two new rear tyres, especially considering that it is only speculative that this action would resolve the problem. Thank you in advance for any assistance.

Perhaps it would be beneficial to provide a hyperlink to a video within this platform, so enabling others to provide guidance and recommendations on the issue of noise. Are you familiar with the car's service history? If there is any uncertainty, it is advisable to start the maintenance process by doing an oil and filter replacement, using oil that adheres to the appropriate specifications and a filter of satisfactory quality. This approach is recommended due to its cost-effectiveness, simplicity, and absence of adverse effects. If the aforementioned troubleshooting steps do not resolve the issue, it would be advisable to seek the professional opinion of a specialist on the potential chain-related problem. However, it is worth noting that it would be unexpected for a vehicle with a mileage of 109,000 miles, namely the om642 model, to encounter such an issue.

A suitable coolant is composed of certain ingredients that enable it to maintain a lower temperature, unlike water which is prone to boiling. Therefore, the term "summer coolant" is used to describe the practise of using tap water in an engine, which may lead to increased heat and potential damage to the engine.
-
It is highly recommended to use Mercedes ready mixed coolant as opposed to distilled water, since the latter is primarily employed for battery replenishment purposes. The presence of water inside the washer bottle is deemed acceptable.
