  1. Intriguing. There is much discussion on the BMW forums about EGR Valve/Cooler recalls, with a prevailing feeling that it resembles a 'dieselgate' scenario. It is not asserted that this applies to MB; it may well be a coincidence.
  2. I assume the remote continues to unlock the door locks? This may be the body control module, since I believe it regulates this feature; alternatively, on a vehicle of this age, the alarm might be a result of this, similar to my E36 M3. This function may also be activated on my E36 by using the key in the lock to shut the windows and sunroof; thus, please try that.
  3. Have the tires been inspected for rolling radius, tread depth, and pressure levels? The illumination of the light only during significant movement strongly suggests that the data being interpreted by the ECU is erroneous. Electrical issues will activate the light upon key ignition.
  4. Oil leaks often originate from a leaky cam cover gasket, based on my prior experiences. However, an inquiry would certainly be prudent.
  5. I had similar issues with the W204 that I previously owned. In my opinion, mercenaries may be capricious at times, and it is possible that you encountered a singular malfunction. You may have irritated it by placing it in the workshop, or are the batteries functioning properly? Low voltage might cause many problems that may not truly be there.
  6. Considering the elevated loan rates, purchasing used items instead of new is a fallacy of economic reasoning. Purchasing new is paradoxically far less expensive than acquiring old items.
  7. Sod's Law: the weekend has elapsed since we first placed the internet order for the car. Ironically, when reviewing the Mercedes portal today, the GLA model that we initially failed to secure last week is now available again at our chosen local Mercedes store.
  8. Following 13 years of mainly seamless ownership of the W169 Avantgarde, we have opted to replace it with a GLA 250e AMG Premium Line. I attempted unsuccessfully to convince my wife to purchase an EQA, but she remains unconvinced by the technology. She seeks the assurance of ICE authority. The purchasing procedure has deteriorated since our last acquisition. Subsequently, all the dealerships appeared to be exclusively governed by Mercedes rather than many independent franchisees. Subsequently, our local merchant lacked the specific variation in our desired colour. They merely exchanged inventory with another dealership. Not the case today. Our selected vehicle was pending delivery at a competitive dealership in the adjacent county. Despite the vehicle awaiting a delivery date from Mercedes UK, my local dealer was prohibited from redirecting the delivery to my nearby outlet. The internet acquisition of the car was insufficient. We were compelled to visit the next County dealership to finalise the preliminary documentation. It was not until our return home that Mercedes UK emailed the contract for our signature. We must revisit this amiable and accommodating dealership prior to the delivery of our new car in two weeks. We selected the hybrid type as it was £100 less expensive per month through PCP than the entirely ICE variant. Specifically, 0% APR in contrast to 5.9% APR. Upon concluding that acquiring our preferred model brand-new was unfeasible, we considered purchasing an ex-demonstrator model instead. I found a 5-month-old GLA 250e AMG Premium Line with only 1,800 miles from a different Mercedes dealership. Regrettably, the 11.9% APR PCP would have incurred double the monthly costs compared to purchasing a brand-new vehicle at 0% APR. In the past, one could choose to purchase any vehicle available in the Mercedes system or select a model that was about to be manufactured at the factory. Today, your selection is a fluctuating lottery of the specific model variants that Mercedes chooses to provide to designated dealerships at a fixed price. No negotiation is possible. The price is immutable. There are no visible versions that may be in development. I monitored online on a daily and hourly basis. You must act swiftly. Earlier this week, I was unable to secure a GLA 250e AMG Executive due to my favourite local sales representative being on his day off (not his fault). Two days later, three Premium Line variations emerged at three distinct dealerships nationwide. Two of them were situated over 100 miles distant. After verifying my interest in the vehicle online and with an agent at the dealership, I endured a tense two-hour wait before a sales representative returned my call to confirm the acquisition of the vehicle. Dealerships are reportedly unable to acquire sufficient quantities of the 250e models. One hour after I acquired the car, two additional prospective clients visited the store in a futile effort to purchase the same vehicle.
  9. Your vehicle is equipped with a 2.0 turbo diesel engine.
  10. Passenger airbags must be deactivated when a rear-facing infant seat is installed. Open the passenger door to locate a key switch at the end of the dashboard; retrieve the blade key from your key fob and reactivate it.
  11. It is unwise to economise on tires. and brakes, in that regard.
  12. There is no definitive "best tire"; just use A-brand tires such as Michelin, Pirelli, Continental, or Goodyear.
  13. Indeed, I get your point; nonetheless, a Google search for Merc S212 yields results for estates, while W212 pertains to saloons.
  14. Indeed, the S212 designates the estate variant, whereas the W212 refers to the saloon model. It is inconsequential; I resolved it last night.
  15. I am experiencing difficulties with my alarm constantly sounding; I want to deactivate the alarm siren since I suspect the internal battery is malfunctioning. I am certain it is located on the passenger side (left side) of the vehicle, but I am uncertain of the precise placement. Does anybody have information on the precise location? Thank you
  16. I contacted them today. Regrettably, they provide just the pipe, without a connection. Is a plastic straight push-fit fuel line connection suitable for this application? Assuming its low pressure on the return side.
  17. I suspect that the persistent dampness at the top of the injector, after having wiped it off yesterday, indicates a potential issue with the leak-off line.
  18. Thank you for your response. I have seen many discussions in which individuals have substituted the leak-off pipe; however, Mercedes-Benz does not provide a connection for attachment to the remaining piping. Which connection would be optimal for this application?
  19. Greetings to everyone I saw a little leak on the drive underneath the engine, and I am aware that it is diesel. I removed the engine cover and saw that, despite its cleanliness, there is a little accumulation of diesel around the injector seats. I cleaned it with paper towels, and it is entirely free of liquid and carbon buildup. I have also seen that the two rear injectors exhibit more deterioration, but the front injector shows no diesel leakage around it. I suspect that the little fuel return lines connecting to the injectors may be leaking, however I cannot see any visible leakage. The upper portions of the rear two injectors seem little moist; may this indicate an issue with the return lines? Resulting in the appearance of moisture on the injector tops? I have a potentially unrelated issue: a loud fuel pump producing a gurgling sound when the ignition is on but the engine is not started. I have seen many postings indicating that somebody overcame this issue by substituting the return lines. If the little O-rings fail, they let air to enter the system at this juncture, resulting in the noise. Any assistance or insights about this matter would be welcomed.
  20. Thank you. I anticipate seeing that.
  21. Acquired a new 2024 Venza LE on Friday, September 20, 2024. It has been driven around 100 kilometres. What mileage should we anticipate throughout the break-in period, and what actual miles are other forum members reporting? The current display indicates about 32 mpg, which is below my expectations; nonetheless, all components are secure and intact, so... We own a 2017 Prius Prime, which is said to get an estimated 52 mpg; yet, we just completed a 500-mile round trip to the mountains, averaging 62 mpg without any plug-in recharging. Drawing on my experience with the Prius, I anticipate achieving fuel efficiency above 40 mpg with the Venza once it is fully acclimated. I saw a post on the Venza in which the author described it as "McDonald's caviar." I see this car as a Rav4 adorned in formal attire. He may even be named Tux.
  22. I had the same code. Administered Wynn's Extreme Diesel Cleaner to the tank; the indicator light extinguished within 11 miles.
  23. As per the EPC, you need one of the following: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/355855242458?mkevt=1&mkcid=1&mkrid=710-53481-19255-0&campid=5338181125&toolid=10001&customid=2518X1570512X603dcf059c9ea5e01d0ee90b63352999
