  1. I comprehend that the majority of utilities, food, and insurances have significantly increased, mostly owing to the rising expense of living. However, I find it particularly alarming that my insurance premiums have doubled. Devastating blow! I am now affiliated with Saga, a company that caters only to those aged over 50. Could someone suggest a reputable insurance provider? The price I have been given is 2,300. The amount last year was £1,100. There have been no claims or accidents. I anticipated a significant increase, but not to this extent. Any guidance or suggestions would be much appreciated. 😊
  2. A clean MOT history will not have an impact on the selling price, save for those who are easily deceived. However, I can get your need for it to be unambiguous.
  3. In my opinion, silver wheels enhance the appearance of darker automobiles more effectively, however I do believe they look wonderful on any car. Perhaps it would be advisable to consider powder coating them, since they possess an aesthetically pleasing appearance.
  4. By the way, if you want to attend a speed awareness course, you are still required to inform your insurance carrier. If you fail to fulfil the requirements and then file a claim, there is a possibility that they may refuse it and terminate the policy.
  5. Request to see the photographic proof. A friend of mine was caught for driving at a speed of 38 mph in a 30 mph zone. Despite his belief that he was not speeding, he requested to see the proof. He obtained two photographs that depicted the distance travelled and the corresponding speed required to cover that distance. Based on the measures he calculated, he determined that he was travelling at a speed of 27 mph, and he questioned the validity of the proof. After being reviewed by a human, they concurred and dismissed the allegation. It is always beneficial to inquire.
  6. It has been 16 weeks since the automobile was registered. Insurance comparison sites identified the registration number as soon as it reached the age of 5 weeks. I am confused about why it is acknowledged for yearly maintenance but not for the Kia Care service plan. After reading a post on this platform last night, I was compelled to verify the validity of the free 12 months RAC Roadside Assistance and inquire about the service plan. I contacted Kia Care / EMaC. Initially, they were unable to locate the registration number, but ultimately discovered it on a different system. Nevertheless, I was informed that purchasing it online was not an option, and it could only be acquired via phone transactions. The cost was same to that of my nearby dealer. I contacted Kia / RAC Roadside Assistance. They were unable to locate the registration number and were uncertain about how to transfer the breakdown insurance to me. I was instructed to communicate with the vendor. I contacted my nearby dealer. They were also unaware, but said that they will verify with the Area Manager. I contacted the seller from whom I purchased the vehicle, rather than a Kia dealership. The female who responded informed me that the registration number was only necessary if I need assistance from the RAC, which was my first understanding. Unfortunately, nobody was able to provide an explanation for the absence of my registration number in relation to Kia Care. However, my inquiry about RAC Roadside Assistance has been resolved.
  7. Apologies, I misinterpreted the information. What is the cost of your service plan and does it include the first MOT? Did you make the purchase via a dealership or online? Correction - I saw that you said in an earlier post that the price was below £500. Have you verified the price of yearly maintenance in order to compare the expenses? Does anybody have information on the specific dates on which they implement yearly pricing increases, such as January 1st, April 1st, and so on? Although my first service is not scheduled until February, I would consider purchasing a service plan at now moment if the pricing is satisfactory to me. The dealer provided an estimate of £359 for a 2-year service plan and £489 for a 3-year service plan. Tomorrow, I plan to contact EMaC to get a quotation and inquire about the reason why my registration number cannot be located.
  8. I am unable to locate the area where I may manually enter the data. What is perplexing me is that it is acknowledged for yearly maintenance.
  9. When I input my car registration on EMaC to access Kia Care, I get the message, "We are unable to find your vehicle. Please attempt again or get in touch with your dealer." However, I discovered this during my inspection for yearly maintenance. Today, I contacted the service department of the nearby Kia dealership. They achieved identical outcomes until they accessed an other platform. Do you have any hypotheses as to the possible reasons behind this? Additionally, the cost of yearly maintenance for the first 3 years online is £146 for the first year, £222 for the second year, and £146 for the third year. The first year's servicing provided by the Kia dealer costs £210, which is 66% more.
  10. Seems questionable given the price. As previously said, it is advisable to do an HPI check on the automobile. Additionally, it would be beneficial to get the assistance of an individual knowledgeable in C63s to inspect the vehicle.
  11. Do you want one for each hand, Mistral? 🙂
  12. The top component is a temperature sensor, while the bottom component is a wax thermostat. The fan should not be turned on until the temperature reaches 108 degrees. It should be set to stage one before reaching 112 degrees, at which point stage two generally activates. However, with the present software, the fan should be set to stage one at 108.75 degrees.
  13. I was quite irritated by the fact that they informed me that I had to go to Audi for this service, since I had first anticipated it being carried out in my own living room. 😛
  14. Interestingly, during my conversation with the service representative, she made a remark about checking for any outstanding recalls on my behalf. - Initially, I was inclined to decline, but due to my familiarity with my service adviser, I will just bring it up with him. Success!
  15. Although I have reservations about the practicalities and I am generally averse to leave the vehicle alone, it is always gratifying to get everything renewed for the spring season.
  16. Although there isn't anything noteworthy to mention, I will nevertheless provide a brief description, even if it may not be significant enough to warrant a detailed discussion. I anticipate that this will be a more extensive servicing, and I am also included the addition of a new battery and new tyres. Who doesn't like adding new items to their vehicle? The battery seems to be in good condition based on my observation. However, considering that it has been in use for over a decade, I believe it is prudent to replace it before it reaches the point of spontaneous failure. I am quite amazed by its durability over such a long period of time. The tyres still have a satisfactory amount of tread remaining, but it is now necessary to replace them. I have decided to choose for PS4s once again. I will also ensure that they do a thorough examination. The expiration of my extended warranty is scheduled for August of this year. I am now deliberating whether or not to get another one. The vehicle has been quite reliable, but there have been a few minor issues (mostly related to sensors that temporarily malfunction at the start of the driving season, but resolve themselves after one or two drives). I will probably request them to provide a pricing quote for another coverage just for the sake of it.
  17. The problems encountered include microblistering and lacquer flaking. It seems that the only solution is to completely repaint the vehicle's exterior, known as a bare-metal respray. At one point, Mercedes-Benz used to bear the expenses for this procedure. Uncertain about their current practices. To get information on paint issues with Mercedes Fire Opal Red, just search for 'Mercedes Fire Opal Red paint difficulties' on Google. You will find several results.
  18. I have not come across any reports about problems with the Designo Hyacinth Red Metallic colour, and our 2016 C-Class vehicle does not exhibit any paint-related concerns. We personally saw micro-blistering on a 2015 C-Class Coupe that was around 18 months old. Have you considered acquiring a blue one?
  19. Actually, it will be conducted using the WLTP test cycle. Although the distance may be over 550 kilometres on a cold and rainy night, there are not many individuals who drive longer distances without stopping under such circumstances in reality. There may be exceptions when an internal combustion engine (ICE) powered automobile would be the clear and appropriate choice. There are several expeditions that are not characterised by being wet, cold, and dark, yet will result in a distance far more proximate to 800 km. Undoubtedly, there will be those who drive even longer distances without taking breaks, as there always been.
  20. Apologies if my question has been previously addressed, but despite my efforts to search, I have been unable to locate the solution. I have scheduled an appointment on Thursday to have my 2011 C250 CDI undergo a remap, during which I have chosen to have the EGR function deactivated in the vehicle's software. I would want to know whether this modification alone would sufficiently disable the EGR system, or if, similar to my past non-Mercedes vehicles, I will also need to install a blanking plate or totally disconnect the valve. The engine of my vehicle is the OM651. Thank you in advance
  21. However, it must be acknowledged that the middle van has a visually appealing appearance. The appearance is significantly compromised due to the destruction of the rear windows, resulting in a complete disruption of the car's lines. Merely my viewpoint. Out of the six estate vehicles I have had, none of them have had the rears tinted, which is a visually unappealing appearance. However, everybody has their own perspective. Please note that the SWMBO old Zafira has rear tints, but it is naturally unattractive, making it challenging to make it seem even more unattractive.
