I hate to ask more questions, but what exactly are the cant rails you need repaired? The framing around a door? If so, they need to be away from the entrances to get them back. Those pieces of off-white vinyl? Do you need assistance locating the decorative welting or beading that tops the door rails? Images would be useful in this case.

Did they drastically enhance grip, braking distance, etc. during their brief existence? Or enhanced effectiveness when wet? A non-sport tyre's lifespan of 4,000 miles appears low.

What kind of data should be included on highway signs?
dave783 replied to John278's topic in General Discussions
Most of the previous responses hit the mark for me as well. I don't drive on highways much, but the few times I have there has been some kind of misinformation, like a lane closure or a speed limit modification that turned out to be false. I suppose no one pays attention since the "Cry Wolf" effect is at work here. Do we really need to be informed that there will be lines? If that's the case, we'd better pray for signs warning us of impending tractor, horse, cycling club, etc. traffic on rural roads. [rhetorical]We're in deep danger if motorists can't recognize a line even on a deserted highway. -
It's presumably so the key can be reached more easily or so there's more space to get in and out when they place the vehicle on a two-post lift.

Why not use Waze instead of Android Auto's built-in navigation app?

The conclusion to the adventure of Gollom's tires!
dave783 replied to WiseSage's topic in General Discussions
According to the flap that covers the gasoline filler on my vehicle, the recommended tire pressure for typical load usage on 17-inch wheels is 30 in front and 32 in the rear. -
dpf was taken away, and efficiency was changed. Mazda
dave783 replied to dave783's topic in General Discussions
One feels like they are stuck between a rock and a hard place. If I had known that the dpf was such a problem, I wouldn't have bought the car. Now I just have to deal with it. The MOT side of things shouldn't be a problem, since I think most companies that do this kind of work have MOT bays.... The remap I had done is crazy: in third gear at 30 feet down, it jumps to 80 miles per hour in just one gear. -
dpf was taken away, and efficiency was changed. Mazda
dave783 replied to dave783's topic in General Discussions
It is possible, but everything is reversible if the need arises. I have my own reasons for removing the dpf, and in an ideal world I would leave it in place, but the possibility of a £1000+ repair bill is not something I can tolerate. I will shortly have the injector seals replaced, once again as a precaution. I value this automobile and want it to last as long as possible. -

They even gave me a free oil change and filter change, so I thought it was a good deal. Even so, I gave them the oil and filter. -
Hi everybody, I brought my Mazda 2.0d 143 in to have the dpf pulled out and have a performance remap done. If you don't take out the spot welds on the shroud and physically take the dpf off the vehicle, you won't be able to tell that the dpf has been physically removed from the can despite seeming to be unaltered. I am aware that dpf removal is controversial, however mine was done as a precaution because I brought the vehicle (my whole inheritance) without being aware that it had a dpf.I wanted a diesel since in the past I had found that they saved me a lot of money on fuel, taxes, and other expenses. I didn't want to deal with the stress and inconvenience of having to drive the vehicle "properly," and the idea of diesel in my engine oil makes my blood run cold. The vehicle is much more polluted in the mornings, and sometimes while you're sitting at the lights, you get a whiff of pollutants through the vents, so I can say one thing about dpf: you notice its absence. I would recommend that if you can retain your dpf, you should. Since I have to maintain my car for at least 5 more years, I decided to future-proof my vehicle since I couldn't afford to have it changed. Regarding the remap, I just wanted to explore my options. rapidly right now.

Bore da, and please accept our sincere greetings on joining the group

Another compelling argument in favor of avoiding this automobile.
-
As a result of the differences in the car's mileage, the fact that it has been changed, and the color of the inside, I have no interest in purchasing the vehicle. If I had been considering making the purchase, the Facebook ad would have given me the option to ask questions. It was this particular check that led me to form my doubts.

Then, early this week, I came across this automobile that was up for sale on the AMK UK owners ads page on Facebook. Rotherham is listed as the location of the proprietors' business. Have you taken note of the mileage and the modification? For a Stage 2 modification to be covered by a warranty, there must be some kind of guarantee. What can I make out when I have a closer look at the license plate? A dealer in Nottingham had a vehicle with the same license plate as the one listed, but it had an additional 30,000 miles on the odometer and was roughly $5,000 more expensive. Now, I'm no sleuth, but something doesn't seem quite right here. I am no longer interested in the automobile, but I am curious as to what others think about it.

This particular automobile piqued my attention right away, and I've been keeping an eye out for W213 E63s here and there throughout the course of the last several months. Saloon was advertised as having 30,000 miles on it on eBay; there was no indication of any changes, and it was being sold by a vendor who had no prior sales history on eBay. This is the automobile. Take note of the registration and the fee being asked. According to my information, sales of this have been going on since the beginning of May. When I checked the MOT history, I saw that the mileage was approximately 40,000, which was far more than the 30,000 that was claimed. Hmmm.

It was nice to read the responses, and I believe I'll acquire one of those USB devices from eBay. CSK51's article was interesting; thank you. I suppose I'll learn to embrace ACC and the fine notion of not being able to overtake in traffic. My driving wheel has yes and no buttons.....I heard about people's distaste of steering wheel touch buttons and was anticipating them, but I also read elsewhere that VW had reverted them to buttons....so I just prayed mine had buttons, which it did. Does this imply that models lower than Elegance have touch buttons? I looked at a new Golf back in September 21, but the one I test drove had no CC buttons, touch or not...everything was done via the screen, which I despised. I have numerous Golfs and liked them...but the screen controls were a deal breaker for me. It just so happened that a buddy received a Tig Elegance and I accepted touch CC. Now that I have one, it works well for me. Yes, I would like genuine buttons, but this isn't a deal breaker as the Golf was. So, I'm still learning. The only thing that irritates me is receiving emails every time I use the vehicle. "Volkswagen AG: Services were deactivated in your Tiguan" email, followed by a list of what was deactivated. What is this all about and is it essential - should I be concerned - is anything wrong? - I presume not, but it's a hassle - should I label this as spam and have it automatically deleted, or should I simply put it in a place I seldom read.....or can I stop receiving them....do I need them? I believe Big Brother has gone insane! The only reason I joined We Connect was for satnav updates and live information. I can't think of any other explanation right now - I'm still searching. What does the Synchronising light on the CC mean? I'm assuming the vehicle is updating itself. Is this just when the ignition is turned on?
-
Thanks for the responses. I'm still plugging in the short USB-C leads the dealer supplied me. I can play music on my phone over Bluetooth, but I can't control the music on my VW head unit. Using my head unit, I can place and receive calls. So, for my phone, either Bluetooth or not having access to applications via the head unit is an option; nevertheless, I can use the phone to play music and the head unit to make calls. or Connect your phone using Android Auto to access applications, sat nav, music, and other content. Accepting that I just plug it in. continuing to learn!

After a 17-month wait, it's finally here. Okay, I'm new to this vehicle and have only driven 400 miles. These are my first thoughts after three days of ownership. We connect and all that jaz - alright - simple to join up, but why? Apart from satnav updates, is this done automatically? Android phone - I need to connect mine with a wire (Android 10) to access applications (satnav and music)...ok I think since bluetooth may consume energy on extended rides, however I believe a new phone with Android 11 or above will operate with bluetooth? Oh, and I need bluetooth on to use my phone and data on to use We Connect....all of this is a hassle since my is generally turned off....exactly what I like. Car SatNav - I haven't used it with We Connect yet, but previous to activating We Connect, the one thing I didn't like was the route in white....it was too similar to regular roads. Oh, and the speed limit is not shown. The Google Maps path is highlighted in red. I need to play a little longer before making a decision. For my music, I miss my SD card reader. This features two USB C ports, which are a little difficult to access, and there are no plans to connect in USB in case it gets trapped and causes harm. It would have been good if there had been one in the armrest storage container. At the present, I haven't figured out if I can read SD cards hooked through USB C and use satnav on my phone via another USB C connector. At the present, I agree that I must utilise one or the other but not both. Cruise. I wish it was simply cruising, however.... I enjoy how the car slows down to the vehicle in front when there is a wide gap. I despise how the vehicle stops when someone cuts in front of me....though this does not always result in the car braking....I'm thinking...if the vehicle that cuts in is going faster than me, why should I brake? Not sure yet...more testing is required. I appreciate how the cruise reduces to the speed limit of the road works....how does it know? Why does the automobile slow down to some imaginary speed limit? I'm not a fan of keyless entry, therefore I lock the vehicle by pressing the handle sensor.....According to what I've read, Vagcom can deactivate this. I appreciate the virtual dash and everything it informs you...it's pretty excellent. The only annoyance is having the satnav in the middle while I'm not using it. Okay, additional possibilities for the middle, but none that I actually use...I wish there was an option to display MPG and miles to empty here. Okay, I chose one of the screen settings that allows mpg and miles to empty within clocks...it works for me! My old golf MK6 match ticked all the requirements except satnav. The new Golf was not for me...no separate heating controls...everything through tablet screen, which I despised...I'm a dinosaur. So, for me, the Tiguan checks more boxes than the Golf 8. I like the back camera...wish I'd chosen area view as well. I have a space saving spare wheel.....I've been caught with a cracked sidewall due to road debris once before.

MBUK and Western Mercedes-Benz in Edinburgh
dave783 replied to dave783's topic in General Discussions
I will be in the future since I was informed it was my "bad luck" that the repair would not be brought to MB's warranty department for evaluation. Yes, I'm serious. You couldn't make this stuff up. -
MBUK and Western Mercedes-Benz in Edinburgh
dave783 replied to dave783's topic in General Discussions
I really appreciate it, Allan. EWMG's 'owner' and current MD, Keith Duncan, are both people I know well. Thanks also for name of MBUK’s current CEO. Even though Ms. Shepherd has left, her email account has not been deactivated, thus messages sent to her will not be returned as "bounced." Interesting. -
Several of you have inquired about my problem with both of these organizations. In conclusion, I brought my E53 amg MHEV vehicle to Western Mercedes Edinburgh with a known manufacturer defect near the USB data port. Vehicles with the same defect had already been fixed, free of charge and under warranty. They were prepared to look up their own records or it wasn't my car. I once worked there, so I am somewhat familiar with what this Motor Group does in the background. I contacted other dealers in the UK who acknowledged the same problem as coming from the factory and accepted the repair as a "from manufacturer fault." EWMG, not Easter Western Motor Group. After having no luck with the Western Mercedes Edinburgh front of house service team, I decided to write to their CEO Keith Duncan, who chose to disregard my letter. I did receive a response from their dealer principal, who promised me a practical solution—clearly one that would be to their benefit and, therefore, worthless. I raised my concern with MBUK CEO Angela Shepherd, but she gave me a flat-out nod. I know I'm just one of the little people, but the fact that she ignored me says a lot about how she feels about issues affecting the underprivileged. Eventually, I detailed this unfortunate experience on Twitter and included the MB Global address that had previously informed me that MBUK was handling my complaint. I'm not sure who organized that, but in my opinion, that wasn't the case at that time. The matter was marked as resolved today, but MB Global couldn't see the specifics, they tweeted to me privately. That's new to me because I haven't heard anything from MBUK regarding this inquiry or solution. Even now, MBUK is denying MB Global access to the resolution's specifics. Is MBUK getting out of hand? If you ever need assistance or support from EWMG under the cover of Western Mercedes Edinburgh or MBUK from the current CEO, please be aware of my tale. There are undoubtedly more interesting news items out there, but at the moment it seems as if Western Mercedes Edinburgh is controlled by characters, suitably from the Wild West.

The secondhand roof-mounted bike carriers I purchased last year are now for sale since they don't fit on the aero type bars on my new vehicle and I never really used them. Each one can contain a single bike, and it comes with a lock and a key. Looking for £15 for the two to be picked up from Corby, however we might meet nearby.

While I was getting ready to put in my new VDO speedometer, I started doing some research to figure out how the pulse value is determined. So, I was reading this very great piece from The Great Fandango, and I thought to myself, "There has to be an online tool for this," but to my astonishment, there wasn't one! After some tweaking with jQuery and JavaScript (and a Corona Extra, of course), we now have...

Enviosec Group how reliable is this company?
dave783 replied to Matt865's topic in General Discussions
They are a well-known and respected company. However, I believe that this subject has been answered, do you not agree with me? Anyway, my son used them, and he has recently purchased a boat. -
Thank you.... I'll try that right away.
