  1. It seems that they lack the necessary coding skills to properly programme the automobile. I recently visited a garage where a BMW had a similar coding problem after the FEM (Front Electronic Module) was changed. The individual responsible for installing FEM and programming it lacked knowledge, resulting in the need for it to be taken to the garage where I was located. It was subsequently programmed without any difficulty by a competent individual.
  2. You are likely correct, my friend. The wheel will be replaced since it is still bent. You are lucky that you were able to resolve the majority of the problems alone!
  3. Although I am not a technician,... Travelling at a speed of 60 miles per hour and experiencing vibration indicates that the wheels may need balance. Was the alloy not balanced after it was repaired? I recommend bringing it to a mechanic and requesting them to do a minimal level of testing.
  4. Cannot make a mistake. There is a specific rationale. Why have all schools and workplaces used them from time immemorial.
  5. I have just installed a new battery, crankshaft pulley, and alternator. Since I acquired the vehicle, it has consistently produced a noise when the bonnet is open and while I am refilling the windscreen reservoir. However, recently I have observed that the noise persists for a much longer duration after I have turned off the car.
  6. Greetings, friend. The object undergoes a sweeping motion, transitioning from one position to another, and then returning to its initial position, with a duration of around 1-2 seconds. The noise produced is of a high frequency on both occasions. This sequence occurs at a frequency of about once every 25-30 seconds.
  7. The switch located below the hood on the left side of the engine block continues to function even after I have shut off the automobile. Can someone identify the specific component in question and determine if it should continue to function? The movement of the object produces a shrill or high-pitched sound. Thank you in advance.
  8. Uncertain whether anybody has already shared this information, but soon there will be no default option for paper copies of the MOT. It will go paperless. It seems that there is an option to pay for obtaining the documents, or alternatively, one may just print them from the website that we often use to review historical information. This brings us closer to the day when the practice of organising documentation in ring binders will become obsolete. Revision - Reminder to verify the spelling of the title before to clicking the button.
  9. The route over the Pyrenees leading to the town of Isaba unquestionably ranks among my top three choices for scenic drives. During your visit, you will get the opportunity to see untamed equines, admire the Pyrenees as a formidable mountain range, and experience thrilling drives including challenging curves that pose no threat to safety. I reviewed it on my w210 vehicle few years ago. Undoubtedly, this route is exceptional for driving, particularly when compared to the monotonous ones in Les Landes.
  10. In the 90's and early 2000's, the Subaru scene was quite popular. However, about 2010, it began to decline. By this time, Litchfield, a company, had shifted their emphasis more into the GTR, which was released in 2008. I seldom see any discussions or posts about Litchfield on the forums that I often visit.
  11. Litchfield Imports established a significant presence in the Subaru Impreza community. The Lichfield type 20 and type 25 were developed from the Japanese import Impreza STI, namely the blobeye and subsequently the Hawkeye models. These modifications were done in collaboration with Cosworth, resulting in the creation of the MK2 Type 25. They received extensive coverage in publications such as EVO magazine and achieved many victories in the time attack series, earning different awards. Upon the release of the Nissan GTR, they used their expertise and experience to further enhance its performance via tuning, achieving remarkable results. Ultimately, the Japanese automobile scene declined and they transitioned to the German car scene. On numerous forums, I have seen posts where individuals have collaborated with manufacturers to design and enhance suspension systems, exhaust systems, and other components for a wide range of automobile makes and models. They possess a profound understanding of the subject matter. Nevertheless, I would still consider MSL and GAD exclusively, since they are highly recommended among the Mercedes community, especially on this platform. While Litchfield may provide a satisfactory map and service, I would recommend going to MSL, since it is just 30 minutes farther and is the preferred choice among the majority of people.
  12. In 1997, when MB removed the 300CE-24 from my vehicle, they used heat and then utilised a grinder, as you correctly said. I was astonished, but everything is now in order.
  13. It is advisable to have the oil changed if you are uncertain about the last time it was done. You will likely see a noticeable improvement if the oil is extremely old, especially the gearbox oil. However, frequent oil changes are not necessary, and it is incorrect to claim that the oil lasts a lifetime.
  14. Just to clarify, are you referring to the R-Tronic gearbox oil or the gearbox oil? There are two distinct oils for each...
  15. I have just rewatched the content mentioned before. Flex the dust guard backwards or use a swift and forceful motion to tear it off.
  16. Are you able to perceive any sensations when inside the car? Experienced a wheel bearing failure on a BMW 320d, characterised by a noticeable humming or buzzing sensation, particularly while navigating a curve on the A55 dual carriageway.
  17. The type I own is a pre-facelift, without a socket in the glovebox. However, it is important to note that there is no auxiliary option available on the radio controls. I am unable to connect my DAB adaptor. The only alternative is to replace the radio itself, which exceeds my financial means. Thank you for your responses.
  18. The battery test would be my first point of contact, since it is both the most convenient and cost-effective choice.
  19. You may get a pre-made blank off plate on eBay. It is inserted into the area where the EGR cooler connects to the intake manifold. However, it is important to reprogram the ECU to prevent any fault codes from being triggered. It is advisable to completely remove the DPF and EGR systems for optimal performance.
  20. Alternatively, I remove it to ensure that I never have that problem again.
  21. The 4987 dpf temperature sensor has malfunctioned, which will hinder the regeneration process. It is likely that the sensor was damaged during the cleaning of the dpf. Personally, I have not had success with dpf cleaners as they do not eliminate the silica type dust from the filter. The 40A4 egr valve needs to be replaced and discarded. Currently, there is a recall for egr valves by BMW. It is possible to have the car repaired for free under the recall and argue that the valve has caused the other issues related to carbon buildup. This would be a valid point to make.
  22. Did the turbo failure result in the release of oil into the intake and exhaust?
