Thought I'd update the thread! The Volvo turned up this morning everything was handled professionally. The car was exactly as described, spotless inside, started first time and came with all the documents

Just adding another positive one I didn't buy a car, but I've used Loughshore Logistics for transporting equipment from Northern Ireland several times through work. Always kept us updated and deliveries arrived when expected.

I asked exactly the same question. They explained they'd stopped accepting cards for vehicle purchases because of previous chargeback issues and fees that applies with the trnasaction, and with the segregated acc is basicly the same thing, like paying with your car as the money remains protected while the vehicle is delivered and throughout the inspection period.

Can I ask whether anyone managed to pay by credit card? I'd normally prefer the extra protection

I purchased a Tucson through loughshore logistics and nothing felt rushed. They went through how the segregated payment account worked, what happened during delivery, and exactly how the 14 day money back period operated. That gave me a lot more confidence!

Still not convinced I'd buy a car without seeing it first. I know people do it all the time now but there's always that little voice in the back of your head wondering what you've missed Mind you, being able to inspect it for two weeks after delivery does make it less worrying

That's usually a decent sign scammers normally come up with excuses why you can't see the vehicle

I actually asked whether I could come over myself and they said I was more than welcome to visit the Belfast warehouse by appointment. Apparently buyers can inspect the vehicle before deciding if they want to proceed. It would've meant flights and a hotel for me though, so I decided just to let them deliver it instead.

I'm probably old school and I still like standing beside the car before spending that sort of money. Online buying always feels strange to me even if there's a guarantee attached

Bought a 2020 Seat Ateca from Loughshore Logistics around June last year. Wasn't convinced at first if I'm honest 😂 Ended up arriving on day 9. Had my own garage check it over the following week and it all came back fine.

i'd still be careful there are loads of fake vehicle adverts floating around online these days that doesn't automatically mean this company is one of them but I'd always check Companies House, reviews and make sure you're actually speaking to the real business before transferring any money

We've used Loughshore Logistics a couple of times through work for transporting machinery between Belfast and Glasgow and never had any problems. Didn't even realise they had started selling repossessed vehicles until recently

Hi all, Just wondering if anyone has first hand experience with Loughshore Logistics in Belfast. I've recently agreed to buy a 2021 Volvo XC40 R-Design through their repossessed vehicle department. I've done a bit of research and they seem to have been in transport for years, but this repossessed vehicle side of the business appears to be fairly new. Has anybody here actually bought through them? Would really appreciate hearing some genuine experiences before I completely stop worrying. Cheers

I appreciate all of the feedback. Performing all of the arms seems to be the most practical choice. Despite the fact that the man using his "speciality tool" makes it appear so easy in the video up top — enticing.

I have replaced all eight arms on my S203 twice. The first time, I had access to a full engineering workshop, but I still decided to replace the whole arm. Only with the right press tool can you change the main bushings while the car is still on the ground; otherwise, you'll have to remove the arm(s) from the vehicle. 'The juice aint' worth the squeeze, in my opinion. Invest in high-quality products; I recommend Lemforder because I had to redo this work on my car because I couldn't get my hands on it in time the first time. Perhaps this video will be of assistance.

Cracks in the suspension arms are an ever-present possibility. It seems like the front arms are aluminium and the control arm is cast iron.

Additionally, the balljoints will most certainly show signs of wear, even though they may be in good condition at the moment. It is possible that you will need to replace the entire arm soon. Simply replacing Bush is, in my view, a waste of money.

In retrospect, I should have just replaced the hydrobushes on my W204; I should have gotten a new arm altogether. In addition to the cost of the bush itself, the additional labour required to replace it was nearly equal to the total cost of the control arm. It was laborious and needed tools like a press, blowtorch, and angle grinder. Tony Bones was the one who did it back then.

Greetings everyone, The front suspension arms on my 2010 S204 need replacing because the hydrobushes are clearly cracked and certain bumps and potholes are extremely painful to ride over. You can either buy a repair kit and replace all four arms, or you can just install the hydrobushes, the latter of which is significantly less expensive. On the whole, it appears that the arms, ball joints, etc. are in fine shape. Really, isn't anyone just going to swap out the hydrobushes? Is it really worth it to deal with the additional trouble of presses and the like? Thanks for reading 😉

In my experience with a different vehicle that offered three driving modes, I discovered that the eco setting was far from economical and did little for performance. After testing the other two modes on my usual route, I favored the sport mode; it made the car feel vibrant and agile. In contrast, the other settings required a frustrating wait after pressing the accelerator—resulting in a pattern where I had to push down harder, leading to more fuel consumption over time. My 2023 Sorento 1.6T-GDi Hybrid petrol vehicle achieves an impressive fuel economy of approximately 45-48 MPG, and during longer journeys, it can even reach up to 50 MPG. I would anticipate that a diesel variant would perform even better, assuming it's not constantly caught in stop-and-go traffic, where fuel efficiency can significantly decrease.
