The stock Recaros in my Vauxhall Novas were excellent, but the Recaro seats on the last easyJet Airbus I went on were really uncomfortable.

I hypothesise that producing aftermarket seats is no longer financially viable due to the advanced seats and SRS systems found in current vehicles, which make it unfeasible to replace the original seats (except for track usage). Additionally, contemporary automobile seats are often of high quality when they are first manufactured.

However, did they fail to get contracts for manufacturing car seats in a broad sense? It is possible that automobile makers now have a preference for sourcing seats from Chinese suppliers.
