DreamWeaver
Greetings, everyone. Due to the depletion of my battery, I was compelled to purchase a replacement battery from Halfords and subsequently fitted it. The vehicle is functioning OK, but, I am now receiving a notice on the display indicating a failure with the auxiliary battery. At Halfords, I spoke with the technician about the situation, and he said, "Yes, this occurrence is common when a new battery is installed after the previous battery has been depleted." To resolve the issue, just increase the use of the vehicle by driving it more often with the newly installed battery. However, I continue to get the same message indicating a failure with the auxiliary battery. What are the possible solutions to this problem without incurring more expenses? Do you have any recommendations?
DSM10000
An additional power source will still be required, such as a compact battery located in the trunk or a capacitor positioned in the front. My own auxiliary power supply is also no longer functional.
Rashman4u
It is advisable to verify the condition of the fuse located in the trunk, as it has the potential to generate error notifications, particularly in the case of an E-Class vehicle.
AMG33D
If you need to switch it, here's how:
Screwdriver_1
Replace the Halfords battery with a high-quality one. Their quality seems to be subpar. Typically, we choose for authentic MB batteries due to their durability, functionality, and proper compatibility. In order to determine the underlying cause of the problem, it will be necessary to connect it to a diagnostic machine, which will assist in identifying the specific defect. br1anuk
I installed Varta or Bosch batteries, since one company may manufacture batteries for the other.
Trevorseaf
Halfords is the least preferable location for me to bring any automobile.
Rashman4u
I purchased a Halfords 115 battery for my e350 vehicle, which is manufactured by Yuasa according to several sources. There was no trouble whatsoever over the 3-year period. The device never experienced any interruptions or malfunctions and consistently remained in a functional state. During that period, I was in a state of despair and Halfords offered the most economical option, to be precise, it was priced at £159. However, the current price has increased to £203. Matt865
This issue pertains to the auxiliary battery, rather than the primary vehicle battery. Recently, I had the same malfunction on my C250 W205. Purchased a voltage converter from the online marketplace Amazon and successfully repaired it without any difficulty. The auxiliary battery on the W205 is located in the footwell area beneath the carpet. This seems to be a prevalent defect. Below is the provided hyperlink. https://images-eu.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/51La0XV6YWL._AC_UL232_SR232,232_.jpg Although there are more affordable alternatives available, the feedback on them is unfavourable. BenTrevor
Where was the voltage converter installed? Despite the good condition of the auxiliary battery in my 2017 W222, I am receiving an error message stating "Auxiliary Battery Malfunction" and as a result, the Distronic feature is disabled. Matt865
The voltage converter is located next to the auxiliary battery, positioned below the carpet inside the passenger footwell. To uncover the huge plastic cover, just pull back the carpet slightly and you will find it secured by three nuts. To access the converter, just remove the three nuts that secure the cover. Once the cover is pulled back, you will find the converter fastened with a single 8mm nut. I trust that this information is beneficial. Matt865
This is applicable to the W205 model. The auxiliary battery of the W222 is located in the trunk on the right side, behind the panel.
p00rmansp0rsche
Halfords does not manufacture batteries; they just engage in the retail of batteries.
Trevorseaf
Regardless of the label, they are sufficiently large to accommodate batteries that are manufactured to their degree of affordability.
EatSuru
Indeed, this statement applies to any unbranded component.
