br1anuk
My name's Healey, and I'm a newcomer to the Jaguar forum. My wife and I attended a neighborhood dinner party two weeks ago. One of my neighbors was ready to leave when he said he had some questions regarding sports vehicles. Sure, I said, "What do you want to know?" He moved in around four doors down from me a little over two years ago. I had no idea he had a 1954 XKE, which he has owned since 1984, in the garage. He kept driving it up till he moved to North Carolina in 1988 from Houston. He is just like all those people who start restoring a vehicle but never get around to completing it. The automobile is mostly intact, and he has brand-new, 30-year-old interior and roof components. He is really contemplating selling it but has no idea what price to set it at. I told him I would ask around on the board to see what I could learn. I've never been able to upload photos to the BCF, but if you'd like to do it for me, just send me an email and I'll gladly forward them on. [email protected] is where you can find me online. This automobile seems to be in good shape and would make a fine candidate for restoration.

drummer
I may consider purchasing the vehicle. If you have any photos, please send them over. Mgruber921:ataol.com
Mistral
Dismantling a fully functional vehicle does no damage. If sold on Bring a Trailer, they may fetch as much as $50,000. On that site, a '66 that was considerably nicer on the outside than in the engine bay recently sold for $123,000. At long last, recognition is being given to these automobiles. Motoman
Inquiring minds want to know more about this Jaguar and its potential acquisition. Is it completely broken down? I may be reached at [email protected]. This is in addition to the one I just deposited into your account immediately. Thanks
br1anuk
Today, a neighbor and I will have a meal together. I'll pass along your and others' interest to him. Now that he's more invested in it than ever before, he needs to decide whether or not to sell. To follow up, I will.

br1anuk
Last week, I discussed the automobile with my next-door neighbor. What he will do with the automobile is still up in the air. Since 1988, it has been languishing in his garage since he apparently cannot decide what to do with it. It's too fine of a vehicle to sit around waiting for him to decide whether to repair it or sell it, so I hope he makes a decision soon. Rashman4u
There are probably a LOT of E types like the one you describe in circulation, what with the vehicles owned by forum regulars and the dealers that buy and sell them. One of the few local shops that specialized in old foreign cars (he's got a huge shop, former downtown Chevy dealer with a by design or whatever section where a lot of fascinating old vehicles are housed) had four or five very much driver quality, unrestored, E-types, and I was fairly surprised. Also, I'm highly involved in the area's British automotive subculture, and I sometimes see vehicles out and about on bright days for which I have no clue who the owner is or where they came from. drummer
There are at least five E kinds in garages around here that are collecting dust. One is a French car that has only had one owner. I've been looking to purchase it since the 1970s. Someday, maybe. Right now, you can't drive any of them.
AMG33D
Meanwhile, costs continue to rise. They may be onto something if they keep doing this. Â
SkippyTom
To prevent the "bots" from scraping your email address, I changed it to a 😃:at in your message. Putting your email address online in plain sight is a bad idea. A human eye can see an email address in the picture of the @ symbol even though a computer program can't. SkippyTom
Now that I'm retired, I really need to put in the time to get mine in working order again.
