I saw recently that you can eliminate the previous driver using the Connect/Kia app on your phone; it may have been more advantageous to do it in that manner rather than directly on the vehicle.

It seemed like the right moment to create an account after perusing this topic for a while. It seems like a real community here, and there is a wealth of excellent information shared. My interests include driving, understanding how things function, and listening to stories from the actual world. I am excited to get into the discussions and meet new people.

My 2024 C-HR PHEV displays the identical (or comparable) screen upon each startup. I have cancelled it, as I have previously registered the vehicle with the MyToyota App, which provides complete remote capabilities, including trip recording and GPS tracking. After completing the setup process (which required providing approval through the app or the MyToyota website), I am periodically prompted by my vehicle to establish a personalised driving profile. I have not done so at this moment as I am the sole driver. It is a PHEV in Design Trim; therefore, it lacks electric seats with memory settings, which is why I have not pursued it. This may explain why the screen above consistently appears each time I start the vehicle. I must navigate through that screen and an additional warning screen on cautious usage while driving before accessing the functions of the Multimedia Display.

The older models are problematic, and the newer ones will likely experience similar troubles as they age, including oil dilution and timing chain complications. A customer just arrived in his newly acquired Discovery Sport 2.0, unaware of potential issues, as he had not conducted a thorough inspection. This oversight could result in significant costs, as many buyers neglect to verify the condition of such vehicles. Repair costs exceed the vehicle's value. I can only offer counsel; proceed with caution, as you have been forewarned. It is certain to fail someday, as it is a ticking time bomb. I recall that during my ownership of the M4, there was some concern around crank hub failure in these vehicles; yet, such occurrences were infrequent, and the failure rate was notably low, leading many to avoid the issue.

The 2.0-liter diesel engines Inginium engines are the worst available; I would advise against them. You were fortunate if you managed to avoid issues previously. Timing chains can cause a multitude of complications when they fail. It is regarded as the worst engine in history, particularly the 2.0 diesel variants, which exhibit significant issues. The identical engine is utilised in the Evoque, Discovery Sport, and other models.

It is essential to perform this task with the vehicle in park at a minimum. It is advisable to wait until you arrive at a location where you have sufficient time. Cease vehicle operation, restart, and await its reappearance. The greyed-out square on the right can be utilised for rapid scrolling down. Unless you are genuinely uninterested and have several hours available. There are two components.

The sole distinction between MOT tests in Cyprus and the UK is that in Cyprus, the initial test occurs at 4 years, followed by further tests every 2 years. All examinations are comparable to those conducted in the UK. Operating a vehicle without a catalytic converter in Cyprus is equally unlawful as it is in the UK. Furthermore, one of the key principles of this forum is our disapproval of illegal vehicle modifications.…someone may rectify my error if I am incorrect 🤷♂️!

Today, I experienced a slight shock. A woman knocked on my door, appearing contrite. My car, stationed on the roadway, was emitting a distressing sound as the alarm had been activated. She expressed her apologies and indicated her own Evoque situated 50 meters down the road, identical in colour and external aspect. She stated that she activated my alarm by unlocking my car with her physical key, entered the vehicle, but recognised her error when she was unable to start it. She had left a paper in my car and sought to recover it with my consent. How distinctive are keys and key fobs? What measures are in place to prevent an individual having an Evoque key from attempting to access additional Evoques or Jaguars in the vicinity? Disabling the alarm is presumably simpler if one is inside a vehicle and possesses the requisite knowledge.

Inquiry Regarding Battery Replacement and Coding for W204
guyskin replied to Alex1978's topic in General Discussions
No coding is required; please ensure the area is cleaned. I have not yet completed mine, but I will maintain power to the jump start spots as I possess my brother's old battery and some jump leads. Particularly as I do not possess the auxiliary battery in the trunk, having completely removed and sold it years ago to permanently disable Stop Start. -
I cherish mine; I have owned it for four years and am currently turning it in for another one.

All the photographs I have located of the part number you reference as the "original p/n," A6510901652, exhibit the identical pipe configuration and electrical connections as the part you have acquired (A6510902852), which is expected as the latter is a supersession of the former. Consequently, I assert that the fuel filter for your engine is neither an A6510901652 nor an A6510902852; therefore, you will require an individual with access to the relevant systems to ascertain the correct filter part number based on your vehicle's VIN.

My model is from January 17, making it quite early. I spoke with my dealership, and they confirmed that there are no pending recalls.

I would want to enquire about this as well. I have had one rear suspension breakdown with my vehicle as part of persistent problems. Customer service may provide assistance; nevertheless, they seem to lack responsiveness as well. If they respond to my email from yesterday on another matter, I will also address this issue.

Press and hold the Setup button; this should direct you to the information displays. The side menu must have a Default option; choose it and adhere to the on-screen instructions. It will revert to factory settings, resulting in the loss of all configurations.

The cut-off mechanism is intended to prevent gasoline from overflowing. The primary danger is not a spill at the pump, but rather the potential damage to your vehicle's vapor canister if you disregard the click and attempt to overfill it. The repair is costly. I use the same pump whenever feasible to ensure consistent measurements. It is a beneficial practice. Your experience demonstrates that, when used appropriately, the system functions flawlessly.

Negative, it is a prevalent issue associated with the Evoque. The filler neck exhibits suboptimal design. The click occurs too tardily. Cease refueling at the first click, perhaps even one or two liters before. One just learns to coexist with it.

The first unit I received was disassembled before to installation, and I found no defects whatsoever.
-
The component you secure in a typical differential is subpar. Examine Blackline; their products are of high quality and reasonably priced. I have installed several units.

Appreciate your vehicle. Annual oil change and software updated. Ensure that all recalls have been completed (security, steering rack bolts, etc.) and do not use this as a pretext for evasion. Best of luck.

W211 OM642 new glow plugs malfunctioning.
guyskin replied to DSM10000's topic in General Discussions
You indicate that the issue occurred prior to the installation of the new plugs; hence, I would examine the glow plug relay, since it appears the timer within the relay may be malfunctioning, causing it to remain activated and then damaging the glow plug by failing to deactivate.
