  1. I'm thinking that if I had some assistance, I may be able to alter it myself, but I'm not sure whether that's a good idea. I have only ever dabbled with tinkering with autos, but I have never had any genuine experience really fitting anything before. Does anyone have any idea what kinds of equipment I should get? Hoist for the engine, or could I just jack up the vehicle and drop it onto the engine from the underside?
  2. Yes, I will, but before I do, I just needed a general notion.
  3. All right, My 318d's timing chain broke, and it has 112,000 miles on it, so I think it would be better to replace the engine instead of just the chain. Do you have any idea how much work it will be?
  4. The key difference between DOT 4 and DOT 3 is that DOT 4 has a greater boiling point, which is not a problem for clutch hydraulics. Both of these standards are mutually compatible and may be used interchangeably.
  5. The use of any DOT 3 or DOT 4 fluid will suffice for this task. Probably, someone does market a "classic-specific" fluid, but it will be nothing more than a pretentious container; the fluid inside will be identical to what you can purchase at Halfrauds or a neighbourhood auto parts store.
  6. If you live in Cornwall, a recommendation from Aberdeen would be useless to you, and vice versa.
