  1. That is a valid concern. Would consider both options, though upper management may occasionally insist on having three in the back.
  2. Also, it depends on my budget and the cars that are currently on sale.
  3. If you have any ideas about C and E classes that are for sale, starting in 2014 and going up to around 6K to 8K, please share them with me because I need to change cars. It would be great if it was close to Preston, but I might ask a member to have a look first.
  4. If I were you, I'd swap out the cable. The usual explanation.
  5. Even though it fits in my garage, I'll be taking it somewhere else soon. Right now, though, it would be so much easier if I could just push it in without any trouble getting out. It would be great if I could force it in, but if that isn't possible, then it's okay.
  6. My garage is big enough to accommodate my newly bought C43 convertible, but getting out of it requires more of a climb than just opening the door. It would be convenient if I could just push it into or out of the garage, allowing me to use the door for entry and exit. When I'm in Neutral and I open the door, the problem starts. The handbrake is pressed and the gearbox goes into park. It appears that the handbrake is automatically applied when I attempt to climb out of the car while in Neutral. Is anyone aware of the feasibility and, if so, the process for accomplishing this?
  7. Oh no! Your explanation is much appreciated. The replacement was indeed the sub battery, as confirmed by the dealer when I contacted him. My apologies. We have now swapped out the 12 volt and the sub battery. There was no start-up error message on the day the 12-volt was replaced. Each start the following day brings an error message. On day three, you should see an error message about every other start. Today, after six starts, there was no error message. It seems like things are improving. Returning next Thursday for additional diagnostic testing.
  8. With 53k miles under the hood, I'm rocking a 2024 CX-90 PHEV. I am seeing the "Hybrid System Malfunction" message right now. Code P143B:00 was pulled by the dealer. My dealer replaced the 48 volt battery over the course of two visits. Swapped out the under-hood 12-volt battery at a later time. The error message disappeared for one day after the 12-volt battery was installed, but it later reappeared. The battery, which is about the size of a lawnmower, is located beneath the passenger floorboard. Remember that this went on for three months, and every time I started, I had to close the error message. In retrospect, I think the initial diagnosis was incorrect. Is anyone else going through the same thing?
  9. On public roads across Italy, Stirling Moss drove nearly 1000 miles at an average speed of 100mph for two years, starting at 7:22am in the SLR and taking ten hours, seven minutes, and forty-eight seconds to complete the journey. That is why the number 722 appeared on all of his subsequent SLRs.
  10. I appreciate your contribution. Although both the starter and auxiliary batteries in my vehicle are relatively new, as a retired mechanical engineer with ample time at my disposal, I would be grateful if you could share the specifics of your actions regarding your Bentley. Although I value Diesel Benz's arguments, an idle battery ought to consistently receive the enhanced voltage 'stimulus' that contemporary intelligent chargers offer to maintain optimal condition.
  11. I greatly appreciate your reply. I utilised the eyelet connector provided with the CTEK, and with this configuration, I inferred that ideally, any power surges are mitigated by the battery's internal resistance; this may not hold true for power sourced through the OBD port. I appreciate the information regarding the MagCode PowerClip.
  12. Ultimately, I experienced hesitation about supplying power to the SL55 through the OBD port. I opted for a CTEK MXS 5.0 charger and utilised the provided connector to maintain the AGM auxiliary battery's charge on a 'as needed' basis, as the charger operates automatically. Detaching the charger prior to using the vehicle is uncomplicated, and thus far, I have encountered no warning indicators or error notifications related to a depleting auxiliary battery. I trust this will assist those who sporadically utilise their vehicles.
  13. My sole ownership 1998 E300 has recently been accompanied by a 2002 SL55. Although maintaining the E300's battery charge is uncomplicated, I would appreciate guidance on how to keep the SL55's auxiliary battery charged. My current observation indicates that it seems to release in roughly three weeks. Preferably, I wish to maintain the auxiliary battery connected and merely attach a charger to ensure it remains topped up or fully charged, thereby preventing error messages when I operate the vehicle. Is this feasible? If that is the case, I would be grateful for information regarding chargers deemed appropriate. Alternatively, should I contemplate detaching the auxiliary battery and subsequently linking it to my charger in AGM mode (I suspect the auxiliary battery is an AGM type) while supplying power to the vehicle through the OBD port? I greatly appreciate it.
  14. I will introduce some cleaning solution into it and operate it for a period. To be fair, it operates adequately without emitting black smoke, although the fuel efficiency is merely 32.5.
  15. Regrettably, I possess no records regarding the vehicle. Acquired at a bidding event.
  16. Thank you, I will attempt it initially.
  17. Greetings everyone, I recently acquired a 2015 e220d Nite Edition at an advantageous price. There are several shortcomings associated with it. The primary codes are P027254 and P026654 (indicating a deficiency in the calibration of operating parameters for cylinders 2 and 4); I have verified with Autel that all injector codes correspond. Does anyone have any suggestions?
  18. I appreciate everyone - indeed, I believe that concludes it.I will also attempt the primary dealer, but it will ultimately be my final option...
  19. Greetings everyone. I am seeking the front lip spoiler, as I believe it is referred to, which I inadvertently collided with something. Upon searching online, the only information I can locate pertains to 'wrap around' spoilers, which appear to encompass the entire front of the vehicle rather than just the section depicted in the image. Do you have any suggestions on where I might acquire one of these items?
  20. Does each tyre have the same tread depth? That was my question. Unfortunately, most people only install two tires at a time, which can cause serious damage to your car's transfer box.
  21. You can find a good selection on eBay. Check out partsgateway.co.uk as well.
  22. Those were the functions of both buttons on my E400. I recall that the steering grew heavier, the throttle became more forceful, and the engine changed gear at greater RPM when I used the Sport button. Those wheels were very cool.
