  1. If it is not malfunctioning, do not attempt to repair it. If, after two years, you have seen no problems with the DPF being obstructed, it indicates that it is reaching sufficient temperatures and doing enough passive regeneration to remain unobstructed. An economical BMW-specific code reader will provide back pressure readings and indicate the last active regeneration, making it a valuable addition to any BMW glove compartment. The EGR may ultimately obstruct the intake manifold, but it will just need cleaning in another 50,000 miles. A clogged DPF and a blocked intake are only cleaning tasks that will not damage the engine. Disregard the computer's recommendations for service and do an intermediate oil change annually or every 10,000 miles at most. The expenditure on oil and a filter is a prudent investment.
  2. Greetings, I own a 2022 registration Sportage Launch Edition. I have equipped my current Orskey dashcam with both front and back cameras. I followed the forum's recommendation and installed a Dongar adapter on the rearview mirror; but, the USB output lacks sufficient energy to power the back camera. Any suggestions? I like to avoid addressing the fuse box issue.
  3. Thank you for the wisdom so far. I will reassess as time permits. I was upset, since this process should not need such an approach - or so it seemed to me. This example may not be the most effective, but it resembles receiving a replacement cambelt by mail after a warranty failure, accompanied by instructions to search online for guidance on installation. The 'time is running out' notice, coupled with ambiguous instructions and the need to purchase new IT storage equipment, is unhelpful given that the vehicle remains under warranty.
  4. That is really generous; nevertheless, we are not, sadly.
  5. I do not like to seem irate, but I have had my Sportage for over one year. It has undergone servicing at the authorized dealership. A week or two ago, I received a notification indicating that a map update was required and that the deadline for completion was approaching. No information on the deadline for completion. I contacted the main dealer, who informed me that I needed to download KIA Connect, which was previously unknown to me. I executed it on my mobile device. I had to repeatedly return to my automobile to input codes and do related tasks. I was unaware that this was mandatory. Clearly, this did not affect the notification on the map update. I contacted them again via phone. I was instructed to visit the official Kia website and adhere to the provided guidelines. I need to determine the software version of my automobile. I adhered to the exact directions provided on the Kia website. The information on my automobile does not align with what the internet said would be present. Thus, there is a lack of any information on my vehicle. I inferred the necessary version based on my possession of the 2021 model, therefore selecting the variant labeled with 21. The numerals may pertain to years. I downloaded that version on my PC. I am then obligated to transfer it onto a USB or comparable device. Consequently, I discover the required USB size, which I do not own. I am completely uninformed and unable to locate any information on the Kia website on the procedure for transferring maps to my vehicle. At the risk of seeming irate, this significantly deviates from my expectations of a respected automobile manufacturer. I consider myself reasonably competent and proficient in information technology. Perhaps not; yet, this seems to be quite intricate. Perhaps I, along with several other Sportage owners, are aware of the software version operating in our vehicles and the procedure for uploading fresh maps. It is sufficient to state that I will not commence using these ambiguous and convoluted 'instructions' that may perhaps compromise my automobile navigation system. I would really appreciate assistance in navigating what seems to be an exceedingly complex configuration. I am perplexed as to why the task was not completed during the auto servicing.
  6. Engage in pursuits that resonate with you; life is too brief to do otherwise. We own an electric vehicle in our household, which is exceptional, economical to operate, pleasant, quiet, and has an impressive range; but, it is very monotonous and resembles more of a consumer durable appliance, lacking excitement for those who get pleasure from driving. One may invariably return to an electric vehicle in the future, given the influx of new models, but diesel options will diminish in viability.
  7. I possess multiple SD cards that were formerly utilised for computer-related purposes. To maintain simplicity, I will endeavour to transfer only 2 or 3 albums onto each device to facilitate music discovery. I can proceed without utilising the music register while I attempt this.
  8. When I attempt to insert a disc, the machine appears unresponsive, and I am unable to push the disc into the slot, despite it feeling correctly positioned. Upon accessing the CD menu on Comand by selecting the stacked multi-disc button adjacent to the "DISC" button depicted above, I observe six vacant slots within the internal CD changer designated for discs. Selecting "eject (all)" yields no result. I have not utilised it throughout the five years of automobile ownership, hence I am unaware of its functionality. Question 1 Am I engaging in an unwise action or neglecting an evident step to enable this machine to receive discs? Question 2 As an individual proficient in DIY, how can I repair a broken item? Question 3: If the device is malfunctioning and does not accept CDs, can I transfer high-quality audio onto an SD card, specify the format, then insert it into the slot beneath the rewind/back button to achieve superior audio quality? I appreciate your assistance in advance.
  9. I decided to use a traditional approach of inserting CDs into my Comand unit, harbouring an idealistic expectation of achieving optimal sound quality from the device. I am presently streaming from a playlist on my phone using a Bluetooth connection. It functions reliably, although I am uncertain about its quality. The build sheet specifies the components for the Command unit: 512 COMMAND APS WITH DVD CHANGER 518 UNIVERSAL COMMUNICATIONS INTERFACE (UCI) This appears to be NTG 4.5, of which I am rather certain.
  10. If you are under warranty, take it to the dealer; this may include the timing chain.
  11. An illuminated EML will inevitably result in failure.
  12. Thank you, I will attempt that. Were you able to extract the full carpet backwards instead of merely folding down the front as is possible on the passenger side?
  13. I apologise; this should have been included in the bodywork section.
  14. I need to access my fuse box because my PTC heater has malfunctioned, and I intend to disable it. Does anyone have advice on how to remove this door trim without breaking it? These clips seem to be quite robust. The photograph was captured from the passenger side; however, I now recognise that the fuse box is located on the driver's side for a right-hand drive vehicle.
  15. The TCU controls :- Bluetooth, BMW Assist, BMW Online Remote features ie remote door locking, remote heating / AC control etc. Teleservices SOS emergency call.
  16. The nozzle inserts completely and without any problems. The flap opens freely, and I've tried a variety of angles and pumps, but my fuelling problem has gotten worse today after pushing that "object" farther. All I can hope for is that it's an alien object
  17. The fact that it's moving freely gives me the impression that it shouldn't be there; perhaps it's a nozzle from a Jerry can or something. I ordered really long needle nose pliers and will remove it then. I didn't think so either, IrvesBMW. I tried to get in there and grab it, managed to spin it, and nearly got it out, but I didn't have the tools. I was merely concerned that it might have been some kind of doo dah or overfilling protection.
