Given that you mentioned the installation of a new ignition switch, it would be advisable to prioritise inspecting that component. Attempt to cycle the device many times and vigorously shake the key. Additionally, tap the device a couple of times while the engine is in operation. We hope that you are able to identify the issue promptly. Please keep us informed of any updates as we are eager to hear about a positive outcome.

It seems to be a significant issue with the electrical connection. The potential causes include faulty battery connections at both ends of the leads, power issues with the fuse box, starter, alternator, and even a possible problem with the ignition switch. Based on the information provided, it does not seem to be related to the electronic control unit (ECU) or any similar component. Therefore, it is advisable not to introduce new equipment without first examining the fundamental elements. Begin by inspecting all significant connections at both ends and proceed accordingly. Wishing you the utmost success.

Typically, the AC compressor will operate when you use the front defrost feature to remove moisture from the air. Low humidity is more efficient in defogging the windscreen and avoiding further fogging.

Sanitising interior buttons with delicate surfaces
Geek2232 replied to Geek2232's topic in General Discussions
Thank you for the advice, I ultimately choose to use a solution of somewhat diluted fairy juice in warm water, along with delicate scrubbing utilising detailed brushes. Next, use a microfiber cloth to remove any remaining residue, then immerse it again in plain warm water. Significantly improved! Now let's address the little blemish on the driver's seat! I will not use the ineffective Astonish fabric cleaner that I purchased some time ago. -
Sanitising interior buttons with delicate surfaces

Using baby wipes is a wise suggestion, and I am certain that we have some readily available. -
Greetings, everyone. After doing internet research and consulting several sources, including forums, I was unable to find a satisfactory answer to this specific concern. Therefore, I have decided to seek assistance from experts. I just purchased a 2011 C220, which is generally in good condition, but there are some minor imperfections in some sections of the inside. I have purchased vacuum cleaner micro components and small valet brushes for narrow crevices. However, there is persistent dirt in some areas near the switchgear, particularly on the steering wheel. I would appreciate any advice on how to protect the sensitive electronics in my beloved new automobile from any damage when cleaning, since I am concerned about causing any harm. Allow me to outline my proposed approach: apply a little amount of kitchen degreaser spray to persistent stains (without using too much), allow it to sit for a while, then remove it by wiping with a clean, damp cloth. To clean non-electronic components, vigorously scrub them with brushes and hot soapy water. Afterwards, gently pat them somewhat dry using a separate clean towel. I have previously cleaned the inside of my vehicles, but this is the first automobile I own that is equipped with steering wheel controls and a wide range of intelligent functions. Please inform me if I am making any mistakes.

What is the purpose of the comfort module?
Geek2232 replied to keithmerc220's topic in General Discussions
May I inquire about the reason for the recent replacement of the alternator and starter? Battery efficiency is not just determined by the static voltage recorded when installed in a motionless automobile, since this measurement is essentially worthless. Instead, efficiency should be evaluated under load circumstances, taking into account both the voltage and the battery's capacity to sustain a high cranking current. -

Electrical problems might be perplexing, thus it is generally advisable to first rule out the basic factors. Please note that evaluating the voltage with a basic voltmeter is inconclusive, and it is necessary to assess the battery's efficiency (% efficiency) under load circumstances. It would be advisable to have the alternator output examined simultaneously. If a new battery is installed, it would need coding to the automobile. Please provide us with an update on your progress. -

Your excellent English grammar need no justifications. It is plausible that the Comfort Module is the cause of concern. However, it is worth noting that the absence of the stop/start feature may be attributed to a low-quality battery, since these cars heavily rely on a reliable battery for optimal performance. Are you aware of the battery's age, keithmerc220? The probability of it being the original battery is low, although it is not entirely impossible. Could you please have the battery efficiency assessed, unless you are aware that it has been recently replaced? When dealing with any electrical problem, it is advantageous to be able to rule out the battery as a potential cause of such troubles. -

Does the date code on the negative terminal correspond to the date of the car's manufacture, indicating that it is still equipped with its original battery? -

Compression in cylinder 3 is insufficient.
Geek2232 replied to Geek2232's topic in General Discussions
Thank you for your response. I had previously undergone stage 1 remapping for my vehicle and have been use regular 95(e10) fuel. Furthermore, I had an oil leakage. -
Greetings, I already posted a discussion about the occurrence of a misfire in cylinder 3. I have replaced the coil packs and spark plugs, however the misfiring issue persists. This morning, I had the vehicle undergo a compression test, during which the technician informed me that it failed since it did not maintain any pressure. What should I do next? The automobile has accumulated a mileage of 170,000 kilometres. As the second owner, I have personally had this automobile for many years, and around 80,000 miles have been driven on the road. Is it worthwhile for me to invest further funds in diagnosing the precise issue inside the engine, or what would be the optimal course of action for me to pursue at this point?

I have come across a water pump offer with the PIERBURG Water Pump and a Meyle thermostat, which seems to be a viable option. However, I lack knowledge on the u hose and would appreciate a more detailed description of its characteristics and use.
-
Therefore, the chosen option is PIERBURG. Thank you.

Greetings everyone, I am now facing an issue with a malfunctioning water pump in my E90 3-liter vehicle. Unfortunately, I am unable to financially accommodate the purchase of an authentic replacement component. Consequently, I am curious to know whether anybody has successfully installed an alternative water pump in a similar situation. I have seen many instances, namely the PIERBURG model. Does anybody own firsthand knowledge with these? I express my gratitude for your assistance.

The front door emits a creaking or rattling sound.

I implemented the recommended course of action yesterday, resulting in the absence of any audible creaking today. I express my gratitude for your assistance in this matter. -

Today, I applied lubrication to the hinges; nevertheless, there was no discernible alteration as the creaking sounds persists. It seems that I will be required to bring my CX30 vehicle to the authorised dealership for repair, since the three-year warranty coverage for the vehicle ended in the previous month. -

Greetings, everyone, I have just encountered a situation where the front driver's door of my vehicle, manufactured in the year 2020, has begun emitting a creaking sound. I am curious to know whether others have had a similar problem and if so, how they were able to resolve it. -
Have you conducted a search on the YouTube platform? I am inquiring about the existence of a film depicting an individual procuring a high-quality engine from a Jaguar automobile at a much reduced cost compared to that of a Rolls-Royce engine, thereafter engaging in an engine replacement process. The task requires a significant amount of effort, yet the associated expenses are rather affordable.
-
It has been a considerable amount of time since I last purchased an engine, namely for a Grenada automobile. I contacted several automotive salvage yards in order to identify a vehicle that had just been involved in a rear-end collision, with the intention of acquiring a well-functioning engine. Subsequently, a mutually acceptable price was negotiated for the engine's removal and transportation onto a pallet. It is quite desirable to witness the operational state of the engine or ascertain its recent satisfactory performance prior to making a purchase.
-
Are you sufficiently inclined to invest a minimum of £5,000 into this specific automobile? Based on the given description, it seems that the task at hand requires the installation of a high-quality component and perhaps the reconditioning of the cylinder heads. Consequently, unless one does the labour independently, this undertaking may be considered a substantial endeavour. Previously, I acquired an engine from a decommissioned vehicle, which was said to be in good working condition, and enlisted the services of a professional to install it. However, the current situation presents a far greater level of complexity.

Is service B considered fraudulent or deceptive?
Geek2232 replied to Allan8932's topic in General Discussions
Neither do I. Regarding my own experiences, spanning several years that I prefer not to dwell about, a B service has consistently included the inclusion of an A plus pollen filter. Air and gasoline filters, spark plugs and automatic gearbox fluid (ATF), among other components, have traditionally been considered additional maintenance items that are recommended to be replaced at certain mileage intervals or time periods, often aligned with a B service.
