p00rmansp0rsche
Greetings, everyone. Recently, I had my paint callipers coated with black powder using a process called powder coating. All of them are in excellent condition, however I just saw a little chip on one of them (measuring 2-3x2-3 mm, indicating its modest size). I am capable of refraining from intervening, but it causes me distress. Considering the supposed durability of powder coating, I am perplexed as to what might have caused any damage. Could the recent flushing of my brake fluids at the dealer be connected to this? I am not inclined to assign blame since it is a common occurrence, but I am seeking guidance. What is the most effective approach to handle this situation? 1. Should I refrain from making any changes and accept it as it is, considering its insignificance? 2. Purchase touch up paint that matches the original colour and apply it precisely to the affected area. Would conventional automotive paint be suitable? 3. Would you want to redo the powder coating on the calliper? (This option might be rather costly!) We would really welcome any input.
Blu_Ray_UK2007
If it is causing you discomfort, then take action and do the task. Using touch-up paint will suffice.
p00rmansp0rsche
Can you recommend the most durable sort of touch-up paint for a calliper?
WordSmith
Purchase a can of spray paint that is of the same shade as the colour black. Choose between gloss, satin, or any other available finish. Apply a little amount of the substance into the cap and use a delicate artist brush or toothpick to gently touch the damaged area. The aforementioned method will provide you with the most optimal and cost-effective paint match.
Paqngo
The Audi paint pens are not very effective when used in automatic vehicle washes. The paint pen I applied to my car's hood had a duration of around one week before it deteriorated. I am uncertain about the distinctions between callipers. However, your chip seems to be little, and I would just disregard it. There are more pressing issues to spend attention towards.
DSM10000
This occurred due to two main factors. Either you neglected to prepare the chips beforehand or you allowed the paint to dry excessively.Paint is a substance used for colouring or protecting surfaces, often in liquid form. Paqngo
I instructed the individuals responsible for applying the paint protection film (ppf) to use the pens, but I am unaware of the specific actions they took. Are you implying that if the paint pens are executed properly, they would exhibit strong durability and functionality, even when subjected to thorough washing?
