Darrellll
Hello everyone, I own a 2017 Kia Sportage with a 2.0l Diesel engine and 185 horsepower. I am intending to do some maintenance on it. Do you have any suggestions on how to remove this particular worm drive hose clamp, as seen in the photographs below? The object lacks a bolt or screw, instead featuring simply a pinhole inside a cap-like structure, however it is not really a cap. I attempted to unscrew the cap without success. Screwdriver_1
Greetings . I have never seen anything of that kind before. Initially, I considered the possibility of it being a cap, but you have already ruled out that possibility. It will be intriguing to see whether anybody else has knowledge on the matter. Darrellll
Thank you. I am glad to be here. I have seen other varieties of hose clamps, but none like this particular one. Perhaps it is a clamp that can only be used once, or one that needs a certain wrench. That is why I am searching for further information. CheresX
The tamperproof clip is equipped with a specialised tool. If you are unable to borrow a tool, you will need to forcefully remove it with a grinder and replace it with a regular clip.
Trevorseaf
Do you mean miniature long-nose locking pliers?
Alex1978
Now available: tamper-proof jubilees.
SkippyTom
As per information from another Kia forum on the Stinger, the jubilee clips are equipped with removable caps. Underneath these caps, there is a standard hexagonal head that can be unscrewed. They instructed the use of a pair of pliers to remove the caps.
