bvlenci
Hi All. I'm new here, so if anybody can assist, that would be great. have an M47 engine in a BMW 120d. It has the EGR, Swirl flaps, and 02 sensor engine management lights on. The solinode that controls the hoover egr was not holding hoover, so it was changed. The hoover egr has been cleaned out. No better still. Swirl flaps on the removed intake manifold were checked, and they all moved without any issues. It has through a solenoid test, holds hoover and functions as it should. Also passing inspection was the flap actuator. cleaned map and Maf sensors. There were no boost leaks found despite a search. The car handles OK, but the turbo seems lifeless and has no genuine power. Please assist.
Mistral
Have you replaced all of the hoover pipes? You seem to have a split in one or two of them.
BEERMAN
Additionally, as @Mistral mentioned, ensure that the pipelines, if they are in excellent condition, are installed correctly.

Thank you for your advice, buddy. I did take a quick look at the vacuum pipes I worked on, but I didn't make any changes.
QuirkEinstein
In my experience, the turbo is usually the first to go. It's probably best to change them all at once, but do it cautiously so you don't confuse them.
WordSmith
Simply cleaning the maf and map sensors does not guarantee that they are in good working order.
bvlenci
Cleaning maf and map sensors does not imply that they are functional.

Thank you buddy. They must be in the right place because the car was driving fine before, but there could be a split somewhere. Is it enough to just look at something? No, many pipes only break under pressure; otherwise, they may seem perfectly good. I used to pull them off, securely seal one end with my finger, then place the other end on my compressor with an airbed (tapered) fitting for a second... They should be OK if they hold enough to make your finger come free...
Mistral
If I'm not sure, I just change them for what it costs.

On my N47, I did pretty much the same thing as you, except I changed the vac hoses and got rid of the swirl flaps. I ended up with the same problem as you, even though the car ran fine before. It turned out to be the map sensor, if that's the one at the back of the outlet. Maybe they don't like to be cleaned.
