dave783
My 2019 BMW X5 displays an overheating warning and advises me to drive moderately, subsequently entering limp mode. Has anyone encountered this issue?
PixelMaster
The initial suggestion is to provide guidance on the specific engine and proceed accordingly.
dave783
It is a 3-liter diesel engine; this issue has occurred previously, and I have recently retrieved it from BMW. An inspection has been conducted, revealing no leaks. A diagnostic assessment and pressure test were performed, yielding no issues; everything is clear. They also replaced the cap on my coolant to prevent any potential leakage
PixelMaster
Is the loss of coolant the cause of the overheating warning?
dave783
No, it is not losing any coolant; they confirmed there are no leaks or indications of fluid escape.
IrvesBMW
I would enter the concealed menu for the coolant temperature and drive while this is displayed, allowing you to record the temperature during this occurrence, thereby determining whether it is a genuine overheating issue or anything else.
