Darrellll
Greetings, everyone. Require guidance on the opening of a W209 trunk. The latch fails to open the trunk (moves freely), and I am unable to access it by any other means, including the key or the door switch. Are there other methods to access the boot for maintenance purposes? Thank you one again.
jimmy47785
Are the chairs foldable?
Darrellll
No, it is a coupe.
jimmy47785
A coupe does not exclude the presence of foldable seats.
Darrellll
No, I believe the release handles are located in the boot.
jimmy47785
Does a little hatch between the chairs open? Could you extend your reach, then? Upon pressing the release button, can you detect any movement inside the lock? Is the key rotating in the lock?
Darrellll
I am enquiring if, despite the boot latch being nonfunctional and feeling loose as if it has detached inside, I should still be able to access the boot using the door switch or key. Paulinelinker
They are prevalent for the movable lever component that you pull to secure it in the upward position. If it does not descend completely, the emergency key action will not activate. Ensure it is completely lowered before turning the key, and then operate the lever once more.
