What is the uniqueness of Evoque keys and key fobs?
Chrishazle replied to guyskin's topic in General Discussions
In the past, I inadvertently secured my keys inside on several occasions. The initial occurrence was, oddly, directly outside the Bromley police station. I entered with a sheepish demeanour and provided an explanation. The man at the desk enquired about the make of the car. Austin A60. He provided me with a set of keys, stating, "One of these will fit." The initial one succeeded. Individuals exhibited a high degree of trust throughout that period. I applied this knowledge when I performed the same procedure on my Bedford CA, which is also an FS series key. Feeling embarrassed, I enquired of a gentleman parked along the road if he would assist me by unlocking my van. I believed his key would be compatible. Indeed, that occurred. Neither vehicle was particularly valuable, although the A60 was stolen on one occasion. Parked it in the centre of Regent Street, left the headlights on, and depleted the battery. They clearly did not consider it worth retaining. -
What is the uniqueness of Evoque keys and key fobs?

The fob was inoperative since it was not her vehicle. It was unexpected that the key functioned. -

I purchased an item similar to this: https://www.amazon.com/Cordless-Inflator-Compressor-Portable-Motorcycles/dp/B0DHL5DNRN It has functioned effectively for my needs and is somewhat less expensive than the Makita alternative. One can establish the preferred psi and depart. The advantageous aspect is that when inflating four fully flat truck tires, you can interchange batteries to maintain continuous operation. I am not very fond of the combined inflator and jumper tools, as it is improbable that one can jump-start a vehicle and inflate four flat tires on a single battery. Moreover, if the internal battery fails, you will forfeit two functionalities.

Do you possess power tools? In that case, contemplate acquiring an inflator compatible with their batteries. I possess a device that utilises Makita batteries, and it functions exceptionally well. The price was approximately $35 and it is not manufactured by Makita.

Assistance with M156 Camshaft Adjuster
Chrishazle replied to Chrishazle's topic in General Discussions
Greetings, I have successfully done the task. I utilised the timing tool, ensuring that the timing remains accurate as the cams and other components were secured. Now that I have completed the assembly, my sole inquiry is the appropriate position of the crank for starting the vehicle. The service position was at 40°; I presume it should be at 0° to initiate the vehicle? -
Greetings to everybody, I have just finished repairing my camshaft adjuster plates. I ultimately completed only one. I secured the cameras with the tool and reassembled everything. In what position must the motor be to initiate engine start-up? I estimated 0° TDC. Thank you. I am a newcomer, possessing a 2007 E63 with 79,000 kilometres.

It is uncertain if this information would be beneficial, however when my MAF sensor went down due to a missing fuse, a prominent characteristic was difficult upshifts. If your vehicle is an automobile and you are encountering the same issue, it likely indicates a malfunctioning MAF sensor. - supposing that MB configures the gearbox ECU to default to elevated line pressures in the absence of MAF sensor data, as indicated by my 4L 80E.

Thank you. I am aware that it is feasible. I may revert to the dashcam company with your response, if that is acceptable.

I appreciate your encouragement. I will do an investigation over the weekend and inform you of my progress.

Thank you. That appears intriguing. I am pleased that was effortless for you; nonetheless, I request you to envision Laurel and Hardy attempting to install a dashcam. The issue is that I do not possess the same level of professionalism as they did.

Following a close miss for which I was not responsible, I resolved to install a dashcam in my MY24 Evoque. I was unprepared to pay the exorbitant official price set by LR, nor was I willing to have Halfords install one, given my tumultuous experience with their installation of a dashcam on my previous vehicle. I took the vehicle to a specialised dashcam firm. The chief fitter expressed his dismay and stated that it was unfeasible to install front and rear dashcams on a MY24 Evoque due to the configuration of the cabin bulkheads by Land Rover. I find it difficult to accept that LR itself installs a dashcam, however it is equally implausible that a specialised company would decline revenue opportunities. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Are you enticed?

I am curious whether the selling dealer will cover the costs of any modifications necessary to activate the radio, as it is explicitly designated as an import from Japan. Component of the negotiations?

Combining tire brands on several axles
Chrishazle replied to Blu_Ray_UK2007's topic in General Discussions
Our energetic family has the keys. The 2006 Toyota Yaris need new front tires imminently. I could easily use any inferior product for the front, but because I just changed the back tires, I feel compelled to choose the same company to maintain uniformity across all four tires. Absence of rationality. Assistance required! -
Generally, service managers lack understanding.

Yes, I use the same combo on my vehicles with excellent outcomes.

JayEmm Automotive Evaluations (The Collision)

Activating the traction control light on BMWs is straightforward, particularly if the B58 engine has been modified and the car is equipped with P Zero run-flat tires on cold asphalt. The kickdown programming at wide open throttle on the ZF8 transmission delivers power abruptly, potentially compromising rear-end traction, which, in conjunction with the aforementioned factors, creates a scenario conducive to an insurance claim. The TC may be deactivated if your name is Hamilton or Harris, but for the rest of us, it is preferable to remain in Sports rather than Sport +. -
Is petroleum-resistant RTV available in the UK?
Chrishazle replied to Chrishazle's topic in General Discussions
Thank you, everyone. The panic has subsided; I have located a repair kit that has the appropriate O-rings, and it is expected to arrive by the middle of next week at the latest. Motivated to act upon discovering that the specified curing durations for the proposed sealants need several days to attain full strength. I need it to seal about 8-10 bar without delay! Permatex is often referenced as petrol-resistant; yet, it is hard to get in the UK. Thank you, everyone. -

Can someone propose a readily available liquid propane RTV in the UK, along with the appropriate material for O-rings that can withstand it? (Viton is capable of sealing, although its performance is suboptimal). The current seals are green in hue, which may assist in identifying the substance. Thank you in advance.
