What is the length of the wheel nut thread?
ianwh4 replied to Motoman's topic in General Discussions
eBay specifies a thread length of 26 to 28 mm and an overall bolt length of 40 mm. -
Greetings everyone, I like reading the threads, but I often find it hard to comprehend the discussions owing to the prevalence of TLAs and FLAs (three-letter and four-letter acronyms). Is there a section on this site or in the user manual that provides an explanation? What is ccNC, for instance? Is it there in my 3-week-old GTline S? What is its function?

I possess analogous advise for those who are irate about little expenditures and difficulties with contractors. It is arduous, costly, and burdensome in terms of work to pursue matters in Magistrates Court, and it should be avoided wherever feasible. Engaging in extensive efforts to advocate for your position often results in significant expenditure of both energy and financial resources, particularly when faced with the overwhelming influence of administrators and legal counsel. The common adage is that "every narrative has two perspectives."

I am not an attorney. Were I in that position, I would impose a fee in the three-figure range for this comments. An accusation of fraud does not constitute "fraud." Your assertion is noted. Fraud is only established when the police examine the evidence of an accusation, validate it, collaborate with the Crown Prosecution Service to forward the case to the Magistrates Court, and thereafter present it in court (likely in 2026), contingent upon the Magistrates' agreement that it constitutes fraud. The purchase occurs at the signing of the contract and the completion of payment, rather than at the time of delivery. Ownership of the thing is established upon entering into a contract for its acquisition, rather than at the point of receipt. Based on your statements, I am certain that the police would neither refer the matter to the Crown Prosecution Service, nor would the CPS escalate it to the Magistrates' Court. If they proceeded, it would be 2026 before the case reached the Magistrates Court, after considerable expenditure of time and resources on the requisite documentation. I regret that this is not the information you want to receive, but it reflects the expenses and characteristics of the judicial proceedings.

Ah, understood; it is not the rubber spring seat. -

It would undoubtedly make a sound. If this is the rubber cushion on the spring It is positioned at the top and bottom of the coil. I will return it, since it requires fitting with the spring removed. A universal option is available, but it necessitates the compression of the spring. If you are doing DIY projects, use caution as they may be hazardous; springs do not tolerate errors. 😉 It would be preferable to compel the one responsible for this to risk their pinkies. -
The 520D F11 is not reaching the appropriate temperature.

Does the B47 engine model possess an EGR thermostat? Thank you. -

Do you believe it is operating at an excessively low temperature, and if so, what do you consider the most effective course of action? Thank you. -

Thank you for the information; I was unaware. I examined the hidden menu, and during a satisfactory run, the oil temperature reached 89-90 degrees, while the coolant temperature ranged from 80 to 83 degrees. Thank you. -
I really appreciate it. The timestamp is 3:36 in the video.

Perhaps I can attribute the tardiness to Kia. 🤷♀️

Acquired the EV3 yesterday night, therefore now experiencing an abundance of information. Is there a method to exhibit the date and time on the display behind the steering wheel? I consistently arrive late, and the time shown on the main panel is quite diminutive. Thank you in advance.

Has anybody driven the X3 off-roader, which is purportedly similar to the European Honda models? Wishing you success in your endeavours.

MOT failure due to a damaged coil spring on the Mercedes W211.
ianwh4 replied to DreamWeaver's topic in General Discussions
They almost always fail due to the last turn of the coil fracturing, which has little impact on ride height and is thus easily overlooked. I failed to see them on my wife's 70,000-mile A Class during my pre-MOT inspection, despite being a former tester. In the instance of the A Class and my previous ALFA, the issue stemmed from inadequate spring design; the lower end of the spring was cut square, resulting in a sharp edge that contacted the underside of the subsequent coil during compression. This eroded the paint and began to affect the coil itself, allowing rust to infiltrate until they fractured. If the ends were bevelled, it likely would not occur. The positive aspect was that, being a 2006 vehicle, I acquired a new set of original factory components for just £40, and apart from the removal of the rear wheel, no bolts required adjustment for their replacement, use only my existing spring compressors. -
Remember to clean the magnet in the sump pan.

Gear shifter exhibiting pronounced vibrations at low RPM
ianwh4 replied to ianwh4's topic in General Discussions
Thank you. I did not see it as very loose, but I had never operated a BMW before, so I was uncertain. -
I am considering the acquisition of my first BMW, namely a 2011 3 Series 320d Exclusive with 55,000 kilometres. There is no smoke or noise from the engine; it accelerates effectively in all speeds and operates smoothly. The caveat is that when initiating the gear change, it exhibits strong lateral shaking. A mechanic buddy accompanying me said it may be the flywheel or a mount, while the dealer indicated it might be the gear linkage. Which scenario is most probable?
