  1. That is the context to which I was alluding. Have you attempted to toggle it off and then on again, maybe in conjunction with switching it off and on at the stalk? Thus: disable it in the settings, manually activate the lights, control the main beam with the stalk, revert the lights to Automatic, and then re-enable the function in the settings? I do not assert that this will be effective; I only provide it as a recommendation. Occasionally, rebooting devices may resolve issues (e.g. folding mirrors may need a manual cycle after battery disconnection).
  2. A distinct configuration exists in my dashboard, located under 'Settings' -> 'Light', to enable this function so that it activates when the stalk is in the forward position. When the functionality is off, the stalk functions as a manual main beam. Have you attempted to deactivate the function in the settings and then reactivate it?
  3. I acquired my automobile in August, and due to the diminishing daylight, Saturday was my first experience driving it at night, hence I am only now acclimating to this aspect. Have you perhaps unplugged the battery since it was functioning at the beginning of the year? Have you attempted to disable and then re-enable the option in the settings? Is the region of the windscreen next to the sensor free of obstructions? Have you lately had a new windscreen installed?
  4. I assume that the suspension of a C-HR for the UK market will be calibrated differently from that of a C-HR for the New Zealand market.
  5. Maintaining white rooms is quite straightforward in modern times. I would choose this option.

  7. This is the screen displaying the available options for selection. Adjust the AC charging current to 60% in order to decrease the charging current, resulting in a little reduction in temperature (at the expense of longer charging time).
  8. To address this issue, I suggest accessing the Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) settings menu on your vehicle and adjusting the maximum charge rate from 7 kilowatt-hours (KWh) to around 3 KWh. The menu setting can be found under the PHEV option. Once configured, it will prevent the vehicle from requesting more power over the specified limit.
  9. Hey, I was perfect after my suspension at the Bristol dealership.
  10. Update: I had the BMW dealer do an inquiry into the leaks: 1. There is a leakage of the engine from the valve covers of the cylinder head. 2. Gearbox leak: The issue involves the oil sump, adapter, and seals of the pan filter. Their repair estimate is very high. Can anybody provide a reference for a garage in the UB9 area? Alternatively, are there any individuals willing to be compensated for their assistance?
  11. Has anybody used the services of "P&R BMW specialist" located in Hayes UB3?
  12. Should I attempt to use Wynns Stop leak or is it already too late?
  13. Yesterday, I had the oil filter replaced and was informed that there is an engine oil leak. I was already aware of this issue as it was brought to my attention by a MOT garage in November. I have travelled a distance of 4000 miles and it has been 18 months since my last oil change. I have not added any oil during this time. When I checked the dipstick 2 weeks ago, the oil level dropped down from the maximum level to 10mm above the minimum level. It seems that there is not a significant oil leak, since there is no oil visible on the driveway. However, there have been reports of a substantial amount of oil accumulating in the bottom tray. It is possible that the leak is originating from the rear of the engine. From where should I commence? I have saw the video from @Timm about leaks. I am also contemplating eliminating excessive repair expenses. The automobile has a low mileage of 56,000 km, however it is 15 years old and still has the original plastic/rubber seals with the "BMW" logo. The closest independent BMW dealership is Birdsauto located in Iver. Although they have received positive ratings, their services are known to be expensive. Thank you.
  14. There are several factors to take into account: Will larger callipers be necessary to handle the increased width of the discs? If the connecting point is situated in a different place, it may be necessary to use other brake lines. Is the internal handbrake the same size as the original disc? Are the calliper mounting positions on your car the same as the donor's if they have a greater diameter? Is a new brake bias valve required when the rear brakes have a greater diameter? Since the majority of the braking is performed via the front brakes Is it worth the emotional distress and anguish?
  15. Software has dampened the latter years. Valves do not achieve complete aperture until reaching greater revolutions per minute (RPM). If it is a decisive factor for you, then indeed, aiming for a 2020 R8 would be advisable. I assume it was the last year prior to the exhaust noise being muffled.
  16. This feature is mostly applicable to earlier generations of devices, such as the E90, that can only be charged when connected to the slot. I regularly swap my belongings every 3 months to ensure they remain fully stocked. In order to properly recharge a key that displays the low battery warning amber light upon start up, it requires up to 30 hours of driving.
  17. Best wishes. The only two factors causing me to delay my action are my lack of stability in standing and my apprehension about readjusting the illumination.
  18. I suppose that my CLC is a c203. Has anybody responded about the replacement of the headlight? I want instructions on how to replace one of my possessions. Although I have seen many YouTube demonstrations, I am in need of a detailed, sequential tutorial. If a non-existent one is not present, I will be compelled to create one.
  19. In the past, I have applied heat to it using a hair dryer and then used dental floss. If you want to reattach them, it is advisable to use high-quality masking tape to secure them. By doing so, you can maintain the appropriate spacing, which prevents future complications. To remove the leftover adhesive residue, you may use items such as Tardis or Ambersil's glue remover. I have previously used both options without any detrimental impact on the paint surface.
  20. Having a mechanic hoist it onto a lift and examine it for an hour or two is the proactive thing to do. As far as scheduling goes, he can provide you with a list of A, B, and C things.
  21. It is usual to have a higher level of vacuum at idle due to low pressure. Conversely, during high rpm, there is low vacuum and high pressure. As you correctly pointed out, the presence of carbon build-up is evident, and any method to eliminate it is beneficial. Utilising mechanical intervention would be the optimal approach, since I am unable to provide input on the aspect of additives. The primary issue with these engines lies in the use of the plastic oil control ring, which is a poorly designed component. These rings become very fragile and prone to brittleness due to exposure to high temperatures and ageing. Please keep us updated on your progress with the chemical intervention approach - we are eager to stay informed.
  22. Given the significant quantity of oil consumption, it will be necessary to do a complete engine overhaul. Components responsible for managing oil consumption in an engine are the oil control rings and valve stem oil seals. Additionally, there are several additional issues that need to be addressed when it is disassembled. Prior to any further action, I would recommend doing a comprehensive smoke test to identify the source of the leakage and provide you with a clear understanding of the components that need to be replaced. Perform the same action on each cylinder, ensuring that the valves are closed and manually spin them. Observe whether the valves are correctly positioned and free from any carbon deposits.
  23. I am taking my automobile to get all of its fluids and filters completely replaced. Friday Oil and filter Transmission fluid and filter Hydraulic fluid used in braking systems. A cabin filter is a component used in vehicles to filter the air that enters the cabin, removing dust, pollen, and other particles. The pleasures of the spring season
