Greetings, everyone. I am a novice participant in this community and have just acquired a 2003 A8 vehicle. The MMI functions well in all other aspects, however it consistently reverts the MMI language setting to German. Upon returning to my vehicle after parking, I am required to switch the language setting from German back to English. The vehicle operates normally during the day, but has issues only after being parked and turned off for a duration exceeding 30 minutes. The other settings, such as the clock, bass, treble, and DSP, are functioning properly; only the language setting experiences a reset. The MMI system is equipped with software version D3-HU 6300 02.9.0 0309, which may be referred to as version 0290. Does anybody have any suggestions or insights to contribute? Furthermore, it should be noted that the wing mirrors equipped with automatic darkening functionality promptly transition to a darkened state upon the activation of the vehicle's ignition system. Is the issue caused by a coding error or a malfunctioning front light sensor? I would much appreciate any hints or indications. I will be seeing a buddy who has a Vag-Com diagnostic tool in the next week.

A similar "package of benefits" cost of £229 was reportedly added by one of the major auto supermarkets to the purchase price of a vehicle. The major "benefit" for the buyer is a six-month warranty with a five-thousand-pound claims limit. Considering that most of the vehicles for sale are just 6–24 months old, are still covered by the manufacturer's warranty, and come with the seller's statutory duties, it's difficult to see the value in the £229 bundle. I would wager that the typical automobile buyer believes he or she is making a worthwhile investment.

It's a good thing you're suing the dealer and not the warranty provider. You're right that most warranties don't do much of anything, but some unscrupulous sellers still buy them in the hopes that naive buyers won't attempt to sue them. The vast majority of people would have given up and paid to have their automobile fixed, so bravo for persisting.

Hoovie has a brand new, fake Maybach.

Did Maybach hire the Ssongyang Korando/Rexton team to create their luxury vehicles? Why does he constantly get weird pets, like Hoovie? how much of a profit does he earn on cars as opposed to just the ads? -
W205 C-Class C350e Estate Airmatic Suspension Issues (2016)
jennycarlotta replied to WordSmith's topic in General Discussions
Howdy, Farm Boy! Was it a Mercedes warranty or one from a different company? My 2015 C250 is experiencing the same problem. Both the front and back halves fall at the same time. The situation often escalates. After a few attempts, the fog clears up and I'm able to drive normally again. My appointment with the dealer is set for next Friday. Have you had the official distributor work on it? In gratitude -
You need to verify the size of the front tire; it ought to be 225/40/18 in order for it to be compatible with the 255/35/18 size of the back tire.

Stopping both the motion and tilt detectors

Simply hit one button, then the other; you must then depart and lock the vehicle within a minute or so. On my vehicle, another alternative is via the COMAND menu, where you can also disable them. -

How can I get the best automobile video possible?
jennycarlotta replied to alpaco45's topic in Questions and Answers
When I purchase the camcorder, it will have an AV socket. If I also purchase a bullet cam, I won't utilize the external microphone; instead, I'll simply place the camcorder in the footwell and use the internal microphone. Just to be sure, when just the microphone is put in, would the camcorder continue record video, or will it also expect to receive video signals via the AV socket? (I hope my inquiry didn't seem foolish, but I honestly haven't an idea about this type of stuff). -

Last inquiry on the subject. (sorry) I just purchased a remote microphone (from Jan Coombes). Can you just put this into the AV in socket, place the microphone in the footwell, and position the video camera on the roll bar such that the sound emanates from inside the car? If so, I won't need to get a bullet cam (yet). -

I, too, am new to this and know nothing. I've never bought a video camera, but I'd want to get some in-car film. I was inspecting this camera and this bullet cam. Is there anything wrong with this combination? I'd go with the 1GB memory card. Is an external microphone required, or will the built-in mic function with the bullet cam hooked in? Sorry for all of the stupid questions. -
I've just lost my first response/comment on this; perhaps it's for the best, as it was a touch harsh! If the remainder of the construction quality is as poor as that, there will be a lot of work to do! Welding may present some difficulties as it appears that stainless steel is involved; no problem with the proper experience and equipment, but otherwise not simple! Is this vehicle IVA/MOT compliant? who truly constructed it? In my opinion, it requires demolition and reconstruction. I apologise if it's the error, and if you purchased it, the person who built it should be very concerned; this type of behaviour puts all kit car devotees in a poor position. Rant is far from over, but if I don't cease, I might get into profound caca.

Before I got my C43, I had three Mk3 Focus STs, and I had mapped each of them to a "stage." Collins did all of my maps, and they were all spot on. My last one was mapped to stage 2 with all the hardware that goes with it. Didn't miss a beat. I think it depends on the mapper, just like in the OP's case. Some mappers are good, and some aren't.

Engine knock and low oil pressure in the 118i
jennycarlotta replied to ChatMaven's topic in General Discussions
Hot idle oil pressure is a typical symptom of bearing failure; furthermore, remove the balancing shaft covers. Consider removing the shafts while you're in there; the smaller n43 models never had shafts in the first place. A word of caution: the 30 Torx casing bolts are only torqued to 9nm, so don't overtighten them or you'll shatter the mating faces and clog the pump. -

Whip off the bearing caps on the balance shaft, which may be worn, and that will help. You can run without balance shafts if you remove them from the housing but leave the housing itself in place, and if you put a m10 blanking grub screw into the oil gallery for the balance shafts in the engine block. The oil pump itself is probably OK, but you may save money by cracking open the casing and inspecting the inner workings first. -
On an E90, the bonnet can be lifted off with the engine in normal position by going up with the hoist as far as it will go, then pulling the hoist out a little and going up a bit further till free. Alternatively, pop the struts off the vehicle side and tilt the bonnet open closer to the windscreen; the hinges are built to open wider than in normal operation.

What year is the car? If it's an N47, I'd fix it if it were my; otherwise, the engine has to be removed. Because the rockers on the n47 are sacrificial, a new chain kit and some rockers will usually solve the problem. The cam carrier may sometimes shatter; I've seen this happen once. The engine is removed using a hoist through the top; the most difficult aspect is getting to the top bell housing bolts. On an E90 engine, I can work alone for an hour and a half on the trip.

2010 F01 740i windscreen wash efficacy inadequate
jennycarlotta replied to Motoman's topic in General Discussions
100% pure in the bottle. Compressed air will help, but only temporarily since the filter gauze will clear off, but the debris is still in the bottle and will be sucked back onto the filter. The only long-term option is to remove the bottle and clean it. I removed the pumps and level sensor from mine and inserted a pressure washer nozzle to blow it all away. -

Take the washer pump out of the bottle of washer and look at the filter cloth. I'm willing to bet that it is covered in black slime. If that's the case, wash the cotton and try to clean the cleaner bottle. I used a jet washer through the filler to get as much as possible out of mine. -
I think the N57 takes about 6.5 litres. BMW used to use Castrol oil, then switched to Shell, but I think they're back to Castrol now. I use LL04 5w30 if the car has less than 100,000 miles on it, and LL04 5w40 if it has more.
