EPB Service Mode - 2016 Evoque SE Tech - Instruction Manual
jennycarlotta replied to WiseSage's topic in General Discussions
It appears that you have accurately commanded the parking brake servos to retract, but they are unable to do so. Are you certain that there is no problem with the callipers? I presume you lack an OBD2 device for diagnosing DTCs and servicing, as you would have utilised it otherwise. If you refer to the earlier part of the thread I mentioned, you will find an individual detailing their approach to replacing the pads with the battery disconnected to avoid brake engagement. Consider attempting that. -

The MY20 Service Manual indeed addresses manual gearboxes, as it references "Neutral." Initiation... CAUTIONS: The electric park brake (EPB) switch's apply/release function is disabled in this mode (to ensure technician safety), thus do not operate the vehicle under these conditions. Noncompliance with this directive may result in personal injury. This process necessitates that the car is in either the Park or Neutral position, the ignition is activated (the engine must be off), and the parking brake system is disengaged. Upon installation of the rear brake pads or brake discs, the Service Mode must be deactivated. This process facilitates the release of the parking brake during the removal and installation of replacement rear brake pads or brake discs. 1. Depress and maintain the parking brake switch in the disengaged position. 2. Pause for one second. 3. Depress and maintain the accelerator pedal in the fully open throttle position. 4. Wait one second. 5. Turn the ignition OFF and then ON immediately. NOTE: An audible signal will indicate that the parking brake has been disengaged in Service Mode. 6. Depress the accelerator pedal and return the parking brake switch to the neutral position. Disengagement... WARNING: This method necessitates that the car is in either Park or Neutral, with the ignition activated (the engine must be off) and the parking brake system set to Service Mode. 1. EPB Service Mode - 2016 Evoque SE Tech - Instruction Manual

Indeed, the absence of "Park" on the gearbox is likely the reason for your difficulties. It is a sequenced series of events, and that method will likely be significant for this procedure. An OBD2 dongle will certainly function, however I am uncertain if there exists a process for the manual that does not involve using "Park"; however, someone may has that knowledge. Do you possess the Evoque Service Manual for the 2015 model year? I have not encountered one for the 2016 model year. If a handbook exists, the process will be included therein. -

It is effective; I have utilised it several times to halt the process. There is a skill involved, as I initially encountered difficulties. I was surprised to discover that the Parking Brake functions as both a pull and a push lever, as I had never previously pushed it. -
I returned my automobile to the dealer yesterday due to an issue related to the connections of the gear shift. There is no cause for concern, as it is scheduled for repairs next Monday.
-
If I engage it manually, does it disengage automatically when I drive away?
-
I am uncertain about how that operates; could it be applied inadvertently? Mine is a 2025 model. I consistently engage the hold button and do not believe I have utilised the manual handbrake or modified any settings since it was new, having driven 516 miles since June.
-
I drove the vehicle last night, pulled over, and turned it off. It started without issue; however, I still experienced difficulty engaging the drive mode when depressing the brake. I will return to the dealer tomorrow and will update you on the outcome.
-
When I press the button to start my 2025 CHR, it does not consistently initiate, and I must shift into reverse or drive twice before the screen indicates the selected gear. Is anyone else experiencing this issue? Five hundred sixteen kilometres

Is it not possible for you to deactivate the front ones, like I can with my previous X5? The ticking sound you refer to occurs when your ear is placed near the sensor; if operational, a ticking will be audible.

Deregister the former owner's ID from Mercedes Me.

I encountered the same issue. Visited the dealership with the V5 document, and they explicitly said that they removed the prior owner. -

hat did the previous owner do to the driver's seat? Was he/she colossal? -
Outcome!

As already said. Furthermore, should they consent to a complimentary replacement, anticipate that your vehicle will be inoperable for the entire period, namely from now till the dealer obtains approval from MB, procures the part, and executes the repair.

Recall for EGR Replacement and Software Update.
jennycarlotta replied to WiseSage's topic in General Discussions
I do not perceive. Recall 2090008 - repair the EGR cooler and update the engine electronics The software has just two airbags and one more item that was not specified. What does this upgrade entail? -
Do you own an image that might assist?
-
Additionally, I assume you are unaware whether the larger discs and callipers from the 4.8 are directly compatible.
-
That is excellent news. I test drove it; it was smooth and felt satisfactory.

Hello everyone, I am new to BMWs and am in the process of purchasing a 2004 X5 3.0i equipped with the M54 engine. What are people's opinions on this engine? Is it reliable or problematic? Any assistance or advise would be much appreciated. 👍

Is there anybody in the Kent area that has an OBD reader? Please direct message me. I am experiencing an orange engine warning light that beeps three times upon starting. Alternatively, if someone could indicate the potential issue, I would appreciate it. I was travelling on the freeway when a notification appeared about the fuel for a 2013 Peugeot 208 1.2. Assistance needed.
