  1. Excellent decision! The new product from MB costs £100. Only little used... I just hope I don't mess up while glueing it down.
  2. Remove it entirely and begin over instead of attempting to reattach the problematic corner? Thank you
  3. Agreed Ordered 3 metres of VHB adhesive. Thank you! I didn't see the insignia before. It might be an optical illusion or a result of accident repair. I verified under the hood and it is definitely not a 320cdi 🙂
  4. Are you serious,Paqngo? Is the banana targeted at my CLS? How audacious of you 😄
  5. They often do not sell items such as tape. I prefer not to hire someone since I am saving money for v power.
  6. Greetings. The chrome trim strip on my car's boot is starting to detach at the edges, as seen in the picture. Double-sided tape has been used, however it is ineffective. What is the best adhesive to use to ensure that it remains securely attached when I reattach it after gently removing it? Thank you very much
  7. Impressive. Excellent colour combination, and it's fantastic to have discovered one with just 80,000 miles on it. It will be durable for over 250,000 miles, assuming you are willing to put in the effort. There are a few of them at my golf club and they consistently make a strong impression. I would have purchased a few myself due to the excellent ride quality, but the noise coming from the passenger seat made me change my mind. Seems like simple adjustment. Hopefully, there is no rust concealed in that drain. Compact discs? What is a "CD"? Shouldn't the focus be on discreet Bluetooth phone connectivity, SIRI integration, and music streaming? What is the historical background? Long-term ownership by a single individual?
  8. Given that you mentioned the installation of a new ignition switch, it would be advisable to prioritise inspecting that component. Attempt to cycle the device many times and vigorously shake the key. Additionally, tap the device a couple of times while the engine is in operation. We hope that you are able to identify the issue promptly. Please keep us informed of any updates as we are eager to hear about a positive outcome.
  9. It seems to be a significant issue with the electrical connection. The potential causes include faulty battery connections at both ends of the leads, power issues with the fuse box, starter, alternator, and even a possible problem with the ignition switch. Based on the information provided, it does not seem to be related to the electronic control unit (ECU) or any similar component. Therefore, it is advisable not to introduce new equipment without first examining the fundamental elements. Begin by inspecting all significant connections at both ends and proceed accordingly. Wishing you the utmost success.
  10. Typically, the AC compressor will operate when you use the front defrost feature to remove moisture from the air. Low humidity is more efficient in defogging the windscreen and avoiding further fogging.
  11. Thank you for the advice, I ultimately choose to use a solution of somewhat diluted fairy juice in warm water, along with delicate scrubbing utilising detailed brushes. Next, use a microfiber cloth to remove any remaining residue, then immerse it again in plain warm water. Significantly improved! Now let's address the little blemish on the driver's seat! I will not use the ineffective Astonish fabric cleaner that I purchased some time ago.
  12. Using baby wipes is a wise suggestion, and I am certain that we have some readily available.
  13. Greetings, everyone. After doing internet research and consulting several sources, including forums, I was unable to find a satisfactory answer to this specific concern. Therefore, I have decided to seek assistance from experts. I just purchased a 2011 C220, which is generally in good condition, but there are some minor imperfections in some sections of the inside. I have purchased vacuum cleaner micro components and small valet brushes for narrow crevices. However, there is persistent dirt in some areas near the switchgear, particularly on the steering wheel. I would appreciate any advice on how to protect the sensitive electronics in my beloved new automobile from any damage when cleaning, since I am concerned about causing any harm. Allow me to outline my proposed approach: apply a little amount of kitchen degreaser spray to persistent stains (without using too much), allow it to sit for a while, then remove it by wiping with a clean, damp cloth. To clean non-electronic components, vigorously scrub them with brushes and hot soapy water. Afterwards, gently pat them somewhat dry using a separate clean towel. I have previously cleaned the inside of my vehicles, but this is the first automobile I own that is equipped with steering wheel controls and a wide range of intelligent functions. Please inform me if I am making any mistakes.
  14. May I inquire about the reason for the recent replacement of the alternator and starter? Battery efficiency is not just determined by the static voltage recorded when installed in a motionless automobile, since this measurement is essentially worthless. Instead, efficiency should be evaluated under load circumstances, taking into account both the voltage and the battery's capacity to sustain a high cranking current.
  15. Electrical problems might be perplexing, thus it is generally advisable to first rule out the basic factors. Please note that evaluating the voltage with a basic voltmeter is inconclusive, and it is necessary to assess the battery's efficiency (% efficiency) under load circumstances. It would be advisable to have the alternator output examined simultaneously. If a new battery is installed, it would need coding to the automobile. Please provide us with an update on your progress.
  16. Your excellent English grammar need no justifications. It is plausible that the Comfort Module is the cause of concern. However, it is worth noting that the absence of the stop/start feature may be attributed to a low-quality battery, since these cars heavily rely on a reliable battery for optimal performance. Are you aware of the battery's age, keithmerc220? The probability of it being the original battery is low, although it is not entirely impossible. Could you please have the battery efficiency assessed, unless you are aware that it has been recently replaced? When dealing with any electrical problem, it is advantageous to be able to rule out the battery as a potential cause of such troubles.
  17. It is intriguing that you find it interesting. Thank you.
  18. Does the date code on the negative terminal correspond to the date of the car's manufacture, indicating that it is still equipped with its original battery?
  19. Thank you for your response. I had previously undergone stage 1 remapping for my vehicle and have been use regular 95(e10) fuel. Furthermore, I had an oil leakage.
  20. Greetings, I already posted a discussion about the occurrence of a misfire in cylinder 3. I have replaced the coil packs and spark plugs, however the misfiring issue persists. This morning, I had the vehicle undergo a compression test, during which the technician informed me that it failed since it did not maintain any pressure. What should I do next? The automobile has accumulated a mileage of 170,000 kilometres. As the second owner, I have personally had this automobile for many years, and around 80,000 miles have been driven on the road. Is it worthwhile for me to invest further funds in diagnosing the precise issue inside the engine, or what would be the optimal course of action for me to pursue at this point?
  21. I have come across a water pump offer with the PIERBURG Water Pump and a Meyle thermostat, which seems to be a viable option. However, I lack knowledge on the u hose and would appreciate a more detailed description of its characteristics and use.
  22. Therefore, the chosen option is PIERBURG. Thank you.
  23. Greetings everyone, I am now facing an issue with a malfunctioning water pump in my E90 3-liter vehicle. Unfortunately, I am unable to financially accommodate the purchase of an authentic replacement component. Consequently, I am curious to know whether anybody has successfully installed an alternative water pump in a similar situation. I have seen many instances, namely the PIERBURG model. Does anybody own firsthand knowledge with these? I express my gratitude for your assistance.
