  2. With DOT, no issues. Also, my score is 3.0, not 2.7. Because of the 3.0's reputation for overheating, I will not be reassembling it.
  3. Fixing the 2.7 would be considerably easier than doing a swap, so that's not unusual. Plus, you'll be losing fifty horsepower and, more importantly, that much torque. Would you like to return to an engine that uses carburettors? How does the Canadian Department of Transportation and Motor Vehicles work? Interchange engines in vehicles?
  4. I agree with that. I am exchanging. A gasket blew on the 3.0.
  5. Is an engine swap in your future? 22R was never part of their package. The manufacturer's 3RFZE 2.7L was utilised.
  6. For my 1993 T-100, I need an inline four-cylinder engine with a 22R 2.4-liter displacement.
  7. The technician is required to physically inspect the DPF and surrounding emissions components during the 24E06 Recall, rather than simply plugging in a laptop. In order to gain access to or inspect these areas on Euro 6 engines, it is common practice to move, drain or disturb the coolant lines that supply the EGR cooler or exhaust system.

  10. The level of coolant is satisfactory, and I will attach a diagnostic to it later on today. Since I haven't noticed any issues with the vehicle while driving, I'm wondering if the ECU has thrown a DPF fault. This evening I will know without a doubt.
  11. And it's likely that they're right. You are jumping to conclusions without first getting the problem diagnosed; all you know is that the car was in for repairs. Is the coolant level checked? Because low coolant is the likely cause of the symptoms you've described. According to the Mk4 Mondeo's cooling system, the absence of heat emanating from the vents is the initial indicator of insufficient coolant.
  12. In order to update the software that controls the DPF, my 2021 2.0TDCI Mondeo was recalled. I noticed that I had no cabin heat but the engine temp was normal the following day when I went to work after this was done on Monday. The engine management light then went out on the way back home. I contacted the dealer who performed the software update, and they are adamant that the problems I'm facing are unconnected to the work that was done. Is this something that other people have experienced?

  14. The unit's code is specific to the vehicle identification number (VIN) of the vehicle it was removed from; however, this will not be your vehicle's VIN.

  16. Much obliged for your responses. Claiming it has always been this way, the seller is unconcerned. To compensate for the stereo problem, I did, in fact, get it with a discount. For re-coding via OBD, all you need is the VIN and the serial number of the stereo, and there are plenty of services on eBay that can assist you with this. Have any of you tried one of these or found any other effective DIY solutions?
  17. Before buying it, I would ask the seller to disable the anti-theft feature. Recoding the unit to the car won't be cheap, but I don't know how much. The car can be negotiated if you insist on having it in its current condition.
  18. I thought you were replacing the whole unit, not just the screen, so there must not be a code required. A code shouldn't be necessary if your current unit is the original. However, if it has been replaced with a used unit, you'll likely need the VIN of the donor car in order to obtain the code. For the most part, they are VIN locked to the vehicle. A more knowledgeable ICE specialist will be in touch soon.
  19. A 2012 B200 Sport, my first Mercedes, is almost at my doorstep. The screen displays the "anti theft protection activated" message, which is a source of frustration. Whatever the case may be, I really want to get CarPlay and a larger screen. Here are two inquiries: The idea of obtaining a code to open it has been mentioned in a number of places. I suppose it would be most efficient to do that after the new unit is installed, so I don't have to do it twice? Could someone please suggest a new screen or unit? These appear to be OK: https://amzn.eu/d/0avr3LMr, but do you have any other recommendations that people have successfully installed and are now using? Much obliged.

  21. A line from Toyah's 1981 single "The answer is unknown.
  22. If you have any pictures, could you please tell me which year and model it is and precisely where the problem is?
  23. I noticed that you mentioned the front end of your Toyota getting condensation in your post. Is the accumulation in the headlights or some other part of the engine compartment where you're noticing it? It would be helpful if you could provide more details so someone could understand what's happening!
  24. wow! I'm just giving it enough time and will be driving it over the weekend to rescan and see what's wrong; getting the responses has cleared my mind for now, haha. The only light that came back was about a communication issue, but it was marked as minor.
  25. I purchased my used 2006 MB with full confidence. I started off by purchasing an iCarSoft scanner. There are no EML warning lights on the dashboard, but there are a plethora of stored 'faults', including one that claimed the vehicle was missing a gearbox. It has been five years since I cleared the lot, and nobody has returned.
