Mistral
Hello again, can the headlights on my W203 be detached without removing the bumper? may refine or cleanse them. Thank you.
bvlenci
I disagree. I performed the task on my W203 coupe, necessitating the removal of the bumper. However, it was a task manageable by a single individual, if one had an assortment of towels or old sheets to avoid scratching throughout the removal process. The duration ranged from 10 to 20 minutes, dependent upon the degree of rust on the screws and bolts accessed via the wheel arch liners. developer
Is it not possible to polish them on-site?

Mistral
Indeed, I can do this and own the necessary tools; but, I considered addressing the surfaces with fine-grade sandpaper beforehand. Additionally, detaching the bumper may facilitate the installation of the aftermarket gearbox cooler, and I may repaint the black grilles at the bottom if I remove them. Execute everything in a single attempt.
clk320x4
Simply wear a mask in their presence and proceed cautiously with both wet and dry conditions. Removing the bumper off a 2004 model vehicle may result in complications.
Paulinelinker
Regrettably, there is always an additional issue.
KissezFun
Performed the same procedure with the CLK, opened the bonnet, and applied masking tape to the bumper.
Mistral
I examined the mounting location for the gearbox cooler today and noticed that the condenser is not secured on the right-hand side, suggesting that the radiator may have been swapped by someone. Regardless, I am uncertain, and I may need to detach the complete bumper, anticipating that my vehicle would be out of service for a week, as it might get rather complicated. Dismantling will be required to accommodate the cooler at the front.
bvlenci
The bolts with Torx heads located beneath the wheel arch liner posed the most difficulty when I removed the bumper. I recommend using a quality penetrating oil 15 minutes before to attempting to loosen them. I too want to replace these, since by the time I withdrew mine, the torx head was somewhat worn, and I lacked confidence in my ability to reinsert them or, if I succeeded, to extract them again in the future. Upon examining Partsouq, I believe the torx screws correspond to component number N 000000 000530. 4.8 mm x 22 mm self-tapping Torx head. To locate your precise model, examine the list for "attachment parts" towards the bottom, followed by "front bumper."
