IrvesBMW
I am experiencing some difficulties with the engine management light. I own a BMW-specific diagnostic tool (previously had ISTA/INPA software installed on my previous laptop when I had an E60 model). Whenever I reset the system, the Engine Management Light (EML) turns off temporarily, but reactivates with the subsequent vehicle starting. Code is a set of instructions or commands written in a programming language that can be executed by a computer. The hexadecimal code is 24CF00. An air flow metre is used to determine the ratio between the observed air mass and a tiny value. The LIN BUS communication error code 28CE00 indicates that the pre-heating unit GSG did not receive any messages. The EML (Engine Management Light) illuminates immediately after I reset the initial code, namely the one associated with the Air Flow Metre. Is the issue related to the MAF sensor or is it unrelated? I have attempted to clean it, but unfortunately, I have not been successful. Alternatively, might there be a situation where another component related to the MAF, such as the EGR valve or cooler, MAP, or back pressure sensor, is causing the issue? The automobiles have been scheduled for next week, but, I would appreciate any guidance. Additionally, I have sufficient time to get any necessary components. Due of my job responsibilities, I have a limited timeframe of just one day to complete it. I would want to express my gratitude in advance and I would really appreciate it. Thank you. IrvesBMW
Latest information. I used a solution of egr cleaning spray, namely wynns from ecp, which resulted in the elimination of the eml. However, the code 24CF00 continues to display even after attempting to adjust the adaptations. The egr cleaning spray is a cleanser specifically designed to clean both the egr and maf sensors. Furthermore, I thoroughly cleaned the mass air flow sensor with alcohol. In summary, the electronic throttle control (eml) has been deactivated after applying egr cleaning spray to the air intake. However, error code 24cf00 still persists, while the engine light is no longer on and the vehicle is performing fine.
TDudette
Could you kindly provide more precise details on the particular location (within the air intake) where you applied the cleaner? I have been experiencing this difficulty for more than a year.

IrvesBMW
I have successfully resolved the error code, however it reoccurs. However, the engine management light is no longer on.
DreamWeaver
Although you mention that the fault code is still being shown, I would want to confirm whether the EML light remains on. It is possible that the fault code just needs to be cleared.

VWDaveBMW
I am experiencing the same issue and would much appreciate any assistance in resolving it. The BMW F46 has a fault with the code 24CF00.
alpaco45
I resolved my issue by using mapping techniques. However, the potential causes might vary, ranging from a vacuum leak to a boost sensor or MAF sensor malfunction. These components are interconnected, including pressure converters, which may also contribute to the problem.
