Upgrade hard drive

Is it feasible to update or replace the hard disc on the iDrive system? Is there a 30GB option available? I am considering replacing it with an SSD if the process is straightforward.

For what reason? Do you have a large music collection stored on your device? An easier option may be to using a 128GB USB for storing music instead of attempting to swap out the hard disc.

If there are further advantages, I would want to know about them. The only problem I saw with the present configuration is a little delay in loading navigation when starting up from a cold state. However, the navigation functions well after that.

CIC remains constant, irrespective of the vehicle it is installed in. It is likely that you may encounter an outdated IDE connection due to the age of CIC.

I purchased a Samsung T3 500GB solid-state drive from Amazon for £160. It functions well in the automobile, providing fast reaction times due to its SSD technology. I mostly use it for playing high-definition music and CDs that I have converted into FLAC format. The sound quality is excellent when played via the HK system.

Uncertain. The external drive I purchased may be connected by plugging it into the USB port located in the armrest.v

Apologies for bringing this up again, but I have a Sandisk 128gb drive formatted as FAT32. I loaded around 100gb of songs, however the vehicle is not detecting all of them.
Would it be better to format with NTFS instead? Uncertain about the optimal file format and compatibility of the automobile with file types other than mp3.
